Pre-Paid Cell Phones Keep You On BudgetReviewAdvice

Pre-Paid Cell Phones Keep You On Budget

After your monthly costs for where you live, your food costs and sometimes your car expenses, your monthly cell phone bills represent some of your highest expenses. Many of the main providers and plans send you a monthly bill that is more than 20 pages long. With this much information, it's difficult to keep track of exactly what you are paying for and how you are benefiting from the service.

Pre-Paid Cell Phones Keep You On Budget

If you are having a difficult time keeping your budget under control, a great way to keep expenses in line is to consider a pre-paid cell phone plan. They work exactly as you would imagine. You select the amount of money you would like to pay each month and you get a specific amount of services, which could include unlimited minutes, and data plans. You will not need to worry about paying any overages or additional fees with this plan.

The only consideration you really need to worry about is what type of phone you will use. The great thing about many of the pre-paid cell phone providers, though, is that they allow you to utilize a phone that you already own. Before you make the move, you just need to make sure your SIM card is unlocked from your old provider; however, once it is, you are free to use another network.

If your contract has ended with another carrier and you have no intention of purchasing a new cell phone, then the prepaid cell phone plan may be the perfect solution for you. Many of the prepaid phone companies offer very competitive packages starting as low as $35 a month for just about everything you would need for your cell phone needs. A comparable plan with a traditional provider might cost you $75 a month between all of the additional fees and taxes that you get charged.

Another great benefit other than maintaining your budget numbers to prepaid cell phone plans is the fact that you do not have to sign a contract with the provider. It is a purely, pay-as-you-go approach to your phone and after a few months if you find that the coverage is not what you anticipated or you are not happy with the customer service, you can easily select another provider and move your plan. This type of flexibility is a great benefit to you, especially if you move and you are unsure of the type of cell phone coverage you can expect in your new area.

If you have a cell phone that is paid for and your contract is up with your current provider, you should consider trying out a prepaid cell phone plan to not only keep your costs under control, but also to give you the flexibility of finding the best provider and coverage for your location. If you try it out and find that you are not happy, remember you can always change and continue your search for the best combination of cost control and cell phone coverage.
