Is Boost Mobile phone service any good?

Two useless phones and they keep my money.

I now have two useless phones and Boost Mobile has $325 of my money that I will never get back. I am retired and prefer a land line over a cell phone and only use my cell phone for emergencies. I have a pay-as-you-go phone that I originally bought from Virgin Mobile. My account is now with Boost Mobile because they bought Virgin Mobile. Over the years, I have built up a balance of about $295 because, under the Virgin Mobile agreement, I was paying them so much more than I was spending. Boost Mobile has reluctantly allowed former Virgin Mobile customers to keep their plans but has coaxed them to buy a standard Boost Mobile plan which, in my case, would increase my monthly payment by a factor of 7. Any plan change would irreversibly cancel the legacy plan and an upgrade to an iPhone or an Android smart phone would be incompatible with the legacy plan. My phone was getting old, so I bought a new phone from Boost Mobile. I found an inexpensive basic flip phone whose description didn't say anything about being Android or a smart phone, so I ordered it from the Boost Mobile web site. I used their web site to transfer my account to the new phone. At that point, my old phone stopped receiving phone calls and my new phone did not connect. I contacted Boost Mobile's customer service numerous times to try to solve the problem. After about a week and a half, they finally figured out that my new phone was indeed an Android smart phone, so it was incompatible with my payment plan. I used the Boost Mobile web site to transfer my number back to my old phone. It didn't work. I called customer service to find out what was wrong. I was told that the transaction had generated an error and that there was something wrong with my account. I then tried to return the flip phone to Boost Mobile. They said that I could not return it after 7 days, even though it was their fault that it took longer than seven days to diagnose the problem. They also refuse to unlock the phone and allow me to use it with another carrier until I use it with Boost Mobile for 12 months, but that would require upgrading to a more expensive plan that I don't want. Meanwhile, my old phone can only make outgoing phone calls, but not receive incoming files. Customer service says the problem is with a tower, but that is not consistent with the fact that the phone works in one direction or the fact that the problem started at the exact moment that I tried to transfer to my new phone.

Bad customer service

I brought a IPhone on bostmobile.com and payed for overnight delivery and day3still don't have the phone not happy and there customer service is a joke didn't even try to help will not buy from them again

PrePAID INTERNET STARTER KIT

Not available in all areas. Actual speeds vary . Pay-as-you- go 7 days and 30 days refill options. Literally the most smartest way to stay on tp of bills and Boost is the way to go. It's not refundable because you own the box once you purchase it and choose the right plan for you. as low as $40 monthly.

The bestest carrier you could ask for

Let's start off by saying. The carrier helps people stay in contact with their families. And the best thing about it is. There's so many options when it comes to phones, the right plans for you and your family.

No internet service or very slow to connect

Since day one only two bars n difficult to surf net! Blamed on towers which are always down. Going back to metro. For $60 a month I expect to be able to surf net .

Service is terrible mobile data is non existent

ever since dish network took over service has become terrible and mobile data don't work over 3/4 of the time. I do not recommend boost mobile at all. They used to be so good for the price now its not even worth it.

Great pricing for a service.

Great for a young child's cell phone.Very affordable.

Absolutely the WORST.

Since Dish Network took over Boost Mobile, service is nonexistent. Towers are CONSTANTLY down with the claim they are being upgraded. No phone service or texting ability or data access for literally months on end. We had to go back to a landline because Boost is so totally unreliable. Customer service laughs at you when you complain about having to pay for months without being able to use your phone in any way. Dish Network is happy to rake in your money without having to do a thing. The worst cell provider out there today in my opinion.

Customer service is what sold me!

The customer service rep helped me through the entire process of activating my phone and answered any questions I had. The knowledge this woman had was exceptional. She was also extremely friendly. Boost Mobile has one of the most professional and friendly customer services out there. I recommend them on that basis alone.

Boost Mobile's return policy sucks!

Their return policy is ridiculous! I thought I had 14 days to return my phone like most places but when I brought it to the store to return it (it just isn't powerful enough to play games like Dead Cells) but apparently I only had 7 days? Worst return policy I've ever experienced. Guess I'm stuck with this phone.

It's just not for me.

Price is good but the phones themselves are pretty pricey. Service is pretty spotty and sometimes I didn't get text message. To me the price isn't worth it.

If you're on a budget, Boost Mobile's the way to go

Great plans for if you're strapped for cash. No worry of any fee if I miss my payment because then the service wouldn't work!

Had a bad experience initially...

Boost Mobile had charged my account, which was an error on their part because I looked through everything and wasn't sure what we were charged for. It took a month of back and forth for the carrier to refund the accidental charge but better late than never.

Go with it unless you find better prices

I'm not a fan of Boost mobile, but I'd be lying if I said they had crappy service and prices.

Wouldn't recommend Boost to anyone

This company is total garbage. You can't get service anywhere. Customer service doesn't care about customer loyalty either. Don't bother with them.

Run away if you're thinking of getting Boost

I've had Virgin mobile for almost a decade before Boost took over. Back then I used a pay-as-you-go plan but when I swapped to Boost, it's been nothing but terrible experience after terrible experience. Bad service, even worse customer support, a lot of their policies are really shader. Buyer beware!

Good choice if you like unreliable data

Mobile data is unreliable, sometimes I get no connection even when I have full bars. I keep restarting my phone and my connection, but that doens't work.

Sad to see the quality go down.

The quality at Boost Mobile has gone down, point blank. Can't get reception half the time and now, when you do use up all your data, you don't get any data. Period! I spoke with customer service and they apologized and said they fixed it, but they didn't! This is 100% false advertisement!

No matter where Boost Mobile has your back!

Boost has great service even in hard to reach areas like mountains. Location doesn't matter, I'll still get great service!

Great pricing, great coverage

Easy to use with great coverage. Very good deal for one phone line.
