Is Mint Mobile phone service any good?
Mint SIM
Really good service. Easy to sign up for. Solid coverage and 5G speeds.
Superb value for what you're getting
My wife convinced me to switch and I'm glad I did. It's just as good as Cricket and the savings are unreal
Easy.
It's easy to use and good.
A prepaid service where you have full control!
Has great customer support and you have full control over your account You also get a good amount of data for the value
Network is slow most of the time...
It's really, really slow compared to T-Mobile. I know that the service is deprioritized but sometimes streaming on my phone is impossible. I really like to use Audible to make my commute more bearable, so I switched to US Mobile.
Switch if you want to save
If you're on T-mobile, I suggest you switch to Mint Mobile. They're cheap and they use the same towers.
Good option
I don’t use my iPhone as much as most people. That said, I do stream music in my car. I have noticed a bad spot where lots of people shop. My speeds are so bad there I just forget about music for 10 minutes, then I’m out of that spot and all is well. At this time in my life Mint is the best. I’ve traveled out of my state and not had any problems. Never dropped a call or had a hard time hearing calls. Music and video can be slow in a couple of areas close to my home but overall I’m fine w…ith it. It’s not the greatest thing in the world but value is excellent.
Slow network but really cheap.
It's really cheap but it's a little slow. It's good for me though, since I mostly use it for Facebook.
Minty savings
I've been a longtime mint customer but my wife and son wasn't on a plan. During the pandemic when money was a little tight, I got them to switch. Just like me, they're really happy with the service.
A solid network.
I love to buy Mint Mobile's prepaid cards on discount to save as much as I can. The 5g network is solid.
T-Mobile quality for cheap
It's worth the $45 for the first 3 mos. It works about the same as t-mobile
Spotty network/Slow 5G/Great customer service
The signal isn't the best. One minute I have 4 bars and the next it drops to 2 bars. 5G is really slow too. The good? Customer service is really nice and they try to help and I get no scam calls.
Simple and low cost
It works. Calls come in clear and you get a lot of data for the cost. Legit can't make a single complaint about this company.
Good if you live in the city
Setup process is self-explanatory and you can activate your phone quickly. In a city I have no problems with reception.
Mint's the best
So far I'm enjoying Mint Mobile's service. The company has always been helpful and I've even gotten a call from Ryan Reynolds himself. If that's not really cool, I don't know what is.
After paying for 12 months service terrible
After buying 12 months plan the service went down the toilet. Terrible coverage, practically no Internet Data
I switched from Verizon to Mint.
Verizon tried to make it hard but the Mint rep included me in 3 party calls. They called back almost instantly. I switched phones and kept number at the same time. Bought an unlocked iPhone at Best Buy and in 2-3 hours I was on a new phone and went from CDMA to GSM network (AT&T - T-Mobile network) it was time well spent. I don’t use much data so I pay $180 per year for 4GB per month and don’t need to worry about monthly bills or anything. There is 1 spot in a high density area near wher…e I live that speeds are slow some days. I’ve traveled to NV and ID and streamed music all the way. Made and received calls and texts, used maps. It’s been great. 1 month I almost ran out of data. If that happens you just open their app and pay $10 or get next highest plan. I didn’t have to but it’s no big deal. They also have plans between 4GB and “unlimited. Good prices good coverage. Recommended by me In UT county UT.
Beware of roaming service!
Do not purchase roaming credits. Funds added are instantly spent, and when complaining about it, they stonewall and make it your fault. I literally went presumably through a 100MB allowance purchased for $20 within 2-3 minutes, even though I didn't download apps. You're better off purchasing an eSim if such is available in the country you're travelling, but DO NOT PURCHASE MintMobile roaming credits!
I’ve been pleased so far.
Are switching from Verizon to Mint Mobile was an easy experience though Verizon tried to make it difficult. Customer service helped me through that mess and everything has been good during this past year. No problems at all. I’m thinking of signing up for another year. One thing that I appreciated was that they alerted me that I was using much less GB than necessary and suggested that I switch to the less expensive plan. I don’t imagine many companies would do that. I hope that the customer… service will continue to be good. Other reviews have indicated less than satisfying experiences. I’ll cross my fingers and forge ahead.
Don’t choose mint mobile
If you travel and have to use maps on internet, they won’t work because no service. If you have problems while traveling, probably will have to flag someone down and use there phone to call for help. Thanks but no thanks. I have to have a reliable service at all times, not sometimes.
