Is Mint Mobile phone service any good?
Very consumer friendly
I went with mint originally because of their awesome deal. I stayed because of how loyal they are to their customer base. They listen to feedback and take complaints seriously. Just recently they changed the throttling after using up 35GB on unlimited from 2G to 3G. One of the best companies out there all around!
Super good!
Nothing beats the super good service of Mint Mobile!
Top-tier support and service
Very budget-friendly, especially with inflation hitting hard. CS is super helpful. Can't recommend it enough.
It is great So worth it
It is awesome saving a ton of money on call service is great no dropped call, no mobile data issues.
Cust Service is not helpful & knows nothing
MINT MOBILE totally sucks!!! You will get disconnected every 2 months that is why it is so cheap. YOU get disconnected and they ask you to pay while your 1year plan still has not expired. Their accounting records are all messed up and their customer service rep doesn't know anything and does nothing to help you.
AMAZING!
I paid $200/month for my kid and I before after extras I didn’t need. Coming to Mint, her phone is $360 a year and mine is $180 saving over $1800 a year! I work from home, so I’m on WiFi most of the time, I only need 4GB. If you’re having issues with your data make sure your phone is compatible with T-Mobile (which is what Mint uses) service, or you’ll have issues. If you have a Verizon phone, make sure its unlocked or you’ll have issues. This is not an issue with Mint, but with your p…hone. There are settings you need to adjust in the phone itself as well, and I suggest first resetting your network settings, if that doesn’t work then try backing up your data and doing a factory reset.
If you have a problem it's your problem
If you have problem! Terrible process, terrible operators terrible supervisor, terrible results and for no fixes but the money is there's The better business bureau knows of all the problems (alot) Different customers but same problems over and over again. I bought new mint mobile phone (return it right way) and I'm still trying to get full refund back December 2021
Could never get BOTH phone/text AND mobile data...
I kept getting referred to my previous carrier about keeping my phone number (a whole nother issue), and the 2 (separate) hours i actually had service I never had mobile data....finally pulled the plug and cancelled inside the 7day window..... Advice: If you get ANY guff with your service in the first day or 2....cancel.
poor coverage
I had verizon, it worked almost everywhere although expensive. I don't use a phone much so I swtched to Mint to save some money. It rarely works. Data almost never works. I was in a local grocery store a few days ago, tried to call home and saw "no service" on my screen". I didn't expect top notch service but this is ridiculous.
I agree with most of the reviews posted here.
I've been with mint for just over a year and that's a year to long. Calls drop consistently, when I contacted mint I was told we were in a commercial area and I'd get better reception if I went outside well I tried that still didn't help. So if you have any kind of businesses (gas station, grocery, schools etc) forget about making or receiving a clear connection. Customer service continues to lie (probably told to do so) about payments and coverage. Continued voice mail probl…ems. You definitely get what you pay for which is bad reception...Can you hear me now!! Pay a bit more somewhere else.
Terrible customer service.
Slow mailing of Sim. Long wait till activation. Was told we cancelled service when really they just dropped the ball.
Mint Mobile is the worse wireless company
I signed up for a 3-month plan and paid them $82.00 Received nothing. Been trying to get a refund for 3 months to no avail stay away from this company. Hate to be negative but they are bad, bad!
Run. Mint service is terrible.
Run. Mint service is terrible. Texting on network was unreliable. Working with customer service to resolve the problem was long and arduous, then the problems recurred. Wifi calling and texting didn't work either. I switched to a different plan after a month, and they wouldn't refund the other 2 months that I paid for. Zero stars.
Do not use Mint Mobile's BYOP
Do not use Mint Mobile. As others have said - don't buy into the hype. There's something wrong with their network, or something wrong with their webpage and internal info about their coverage area and phone compatibility. After confirming with Mint website and a Mint agent that my phone would work, I ported my number to them. The phone would not register on their network. This left me without a phone because it had been ported from my old carrier and so was no longer active there. As o…thers have mentioned, I had a full day with Mint Mobile support trying to get the phone to work on their network. Also as others have mentioned, I've had my share of Mint support agents insist the phone is locked, that the phone is not compatible, or that I have no coverage in my area. So, I send a screenshot from their website showing otherwise. Then I get transferred and it all starts again. No - don't go. Just don't - you have better things to do with your time.
Big Mistake
Was never told it takes 24 to 48 hours to get my phone activated
Bad cell reception
I have read good reviews about Mint, and I wish that was my experience as well. Unfortunately, after activating three different lines, having switched over from Verizon, I experienced torture the likes of which was being in hell for the next 24 hours, until canceling. Basically the troubleshooting issue came down to why the calls were not connecting after activation from my Samsung S21 Ultra (after trying to place a call it said could not register on the network). Back and forth, back and forth,… back and forth between Verizon and Mint over the next 10 hours. I would sometimes get different suggestions from tech support at Mint, most of whom seemed to think it was an unlock issue from Verizon and Verizon indicated there was no lock on the account or sim at all. I ultimately concluded that it must be a coverage issue. It turns out, if I were living in a tent down my street, reception would be okay, but I'm not... I'm done with Mint...

Not a bargain if you want reliability.
Thought this was a win, but I experienced dropped calls and one way calls far too often. Our second phone never let go of the temprorary phone number for texting, but worked most of the time using the ported phone number. Had a ticket in for a month, plus two calls to support and nothing ever got resolved. Back to Googe Fi, which works on the same principal (selects strongest signal carrier) but is a lot better.
3 hours with customer service 0 answers zero help
I tried trial 7 day , work for three phone calls. Then all of a sudden I have no service. I called customer service they told me I used all 450 minutes. Total minutes used were under four minutes. Almost 3 hours tonight spent with agents and got zero answers to any questions no help whatsoever
Two plans 1 unlimited and 1 4gb no service
Unlimited plan internet throttling back before I run out of high speed , never use 4 gb phone and stuff sent shows up days later, phone never used and still throttled back. Customer service nightmare, extortion for positive feedback. 5 months left and thinking about refund, refuse to provide what's paid for. Avoid mint mobile
