Is Mint Mobile phone service any good?
You get what you pay for.
Signal is in and out; slow upload.
Stay away! AND no refund!!!
Phones I purchased from the Mint website were not compatible with Mint Coverage. Went 3 days without a phone before switching to another service. I entered a request for a return. No one will email me or call me back with an authorization. I am out $900!!!! The worst customer follow up ever. Both in Tech support and Billing.
Dont expect a good experience
I cant even give this one star. This is the worst experience I have ever had. Its been two hours and I've been disconnected three times. When I do speak to someone I cannot understand the English they are trying to speak because to save money mint has outsourced its helpdesk to foreign countries. During the process I missed two business calls that were worth $200,000 in revenue to my company. How do I get paid for that Ryan Reynolds? My phone is inoperable and to add insult to injury …they had me reset my phone which deleted all my saved passwords, several pages of notes about clients and from clients as well as the passcodes to various wifi networks that typically connect automatically.
4g often goes out
My phone often does not receive calls. People calling me say it goes straight to voicemail. I also don't see missed calls on my caller I'd. The 4g is often off even though I am in population dense area in New Jersey. Too many people crowding in and over jamming their satellites????
Mint is mint
Been with Mint for over a couple years now and I'm happy with the service. The transition went smooth and I could port my number over. I also was impressed in how they handled their customers. They gave everyone unlimited data at the beginning of the pandemic which I really appreciated. They've also sent Christmas cards which was a nice touch. I'm happy that I've found a customer-oriented business like Mint.
Cheaper than T-Mobile
I tried the pay as you go plan from T-Mobile but it was still really expensive, about $50/month. Decided to get a SIM card from Mint and give that a go. I've been using it for a couple months now and so far I love it. It's much cheaper and the reception's just as good. I get so many gigs of data every month too!
Great for temp phones
It's really good for my alt phone
Good product
Just as good phone plans than any others I've tried but it's cheaper.
Low cost
Mint Mobile has crazy low plan rates. Once you install your SIM card and connect you can port your number and you'll be ready to go. Excellent coverage. Can't beat this deal anywhere else.
Good price for slow service
A little slow but you're paying a good price. Unfortunately you won't get the same speeds as any of the major networks like T-Mobile, because Mint is deprioritized". Sometimes my speeds would slow down A LOT so that I'm barely getting any incoming or outgoing data."
Superior value
Mint Mobile is a great value for the price. You're getting a pretty good amount of data. I never ever run out of data. It also has a very user-friendly app so you can check and control your account.
I would give them 0 out of 5, for their false stat
I ordered a 5G/4G capable phone and sim card BUNDLE. The phone turned out to be not compatible. One service tech told me"return phone for exchange of compatible one. Now I'm asked to return phone and sim for a total refund, and I will have to give up my phone number. and I will have to go with another carrier. CRAZY, RIDICULOUS!!!! Not helpful, every rep I talked to gave me a different solution. TERRIBLR, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE111
Don't hesitate to buy!
JUST BUY IT!
Cheap and problematic
The good news is that it's cheap. We're talking really cheap too. They also have helpful and friendly customer service. One of the best I've had the pleasure of talking with. Now here's the bad news: Mint has terrible coverage and you're often deprioritized. While the map says I have adequate coverage at home, the reality is that I'm getting 1 to 2 bars. It takes an eternity for a single web page to load. Doesn't matter where I am in my house. My phone's n…ot an issue either. I just couldn't get it to work. Unless you live smack dab in the middle of a city and don't travel, I suggest you find another carrier that actually works.
Saving $100s in the long run
It was very easy to switch to Mint. It took less than an hour for me. Newer phones are 100% compatible with this service too. I save a lot of money too. We're talking $100s not only because it's a smaller carrier but because you can buy in bulk!
An ok trial
I tried Mint Mobile to see if it worked in my area. It uses the T-Mobile network but it's not as fast as T-Mobile's data speeds. You also have to commit to your plan by paying for a few months at a time, so if you have issues with the service and want to move, you'll be out whatever you paid for. It's also sucky to pay for if you don't have a lot of money to spend on a phone plan.
Worth it
I bought mint mobile on and off when it was on sale and I would swap to it until my service ran out. Easy to connect and set up and you'll get pretty decent service too.
Blazing fast
I wanted faster data and I got it through Mint. No dead zones either.
What an amazing value
A wonderful value. It's really cheap to start for 3 months and it's still cheap if you keep going with your plan. It comes with everything I need. It's very reliable.
Very good deal
I like the company a lot. Very good data speeds and coverage.
