MVNO's like Net10 Wireless, are a good option to consider when on the hunt for a cheaper wireless plan, but they are just so numerous in number that it's difficult to find the perfect one.
Furthermore, finding all the information needed to help you make an informed decision can be difficult. While the official website of Net10, one of the few carriers owned by TracFone Wireless, presents a few prepay plans in a simple to read format, additional information is tucked away in layers of pages.
So we've gone ahead and compiled the Net10 cell phone plans and other information in a readable format, making it easy for you.
You'll find in this guide information on the available Net10 cell phone plans, as well as cell phones, deals and discounts, coverage, customer service, and more. Finally, we'll direct you to our cell phone plan comparison tool, to help you make an informed decision as to whether or not Net10 cell phone service is right for you.

Net10 Wireless Plans
Similar to TracFone Wireless, the cell phone company offers prepaid plan service utilizing the big four networks (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint network, or Verizon depending on the location), and pay-as-you-go plans. Here is what Net10 has to offer if you're considering adopting any of these no-contract plans.
Net10 offers several different types of plans for a variety of devices: smartphone, basic, home phone, and mobile hotspot. These plans include not only unlimited plans featuring unlimited talk, text, and data access but also phone upgrade plans.
These specific phone upgrade plans place an emphasis on points; after 18 upgrade points, you're eligible for up to a hefty phone upgrade discount, which can be used toward the "phone of your dreams." These particular plans provide the user with 30 days of unlimited talk, text, and high-speed data access.
Net10 Monthly Plans
As mentioned in the aforementioned section, Net10 offers plans that suit not only several different types of customers but also a variety of devices. Net10's smartphone plans, which include a money-saving Auto-Refill feature, provides you with 30 days of unlimited talk and text as well as high-speed data access for a monthly fee.
Once the allotted data has been exceeded for the month, the data speed is reduced to 2G. Plans range from Budget Data User (500MB) - the cheapest cell phone plan - to Elite Data User (10GB).
Net10 also has a small set of phone upgrade plans, which allows you to collect a certain number of points, which you can eventually use to earn a phone upgrade discount towards your desired phone. These specific unlimited plans feature 30 days of unlimited talk and text, as well as data access. Like the typical monthly plans, data is reduced to 2G speeds once the allotted amount is exceeded.
These plans range from 5GB and 100 International Minutes (1 point) to 5GB and 200 International Minutes (3 points).
Basic phones also contain monthly plans which grant you 30 days of unlimited talk, text, and access to LTE speeds. Like the smartphone monthly plans, the LTE speeds are reduced to 2G speeds when plan's high-speed data limit has been exceeded. The fees of these plans can be reduced with the auto-refill function.
Plans range from the Budget Data User plan, with 500MB of data, to the Elite Data User package, complete with 10GB of data. If you feel that this isn't enough for you, you may want to opt for an unlimited data plan instead.
Another option for basic phones is pay-as-you-go, which allows you to select your minutes and services days. With most plans containing the Carry Over Benefit, you can add a new plan whenever you'd like while retaining your unused plan's benefits. Pay-as-you-go plans range from 200 minutes to 1500 minutes.
Finally, basic phones also feature phone upgrade plans. These plans range from 5GB with 100 International Minutes to 5GB with 300 International Minutes.
Net10 also shines a spotlight on a couple of home phone unlimited plans. You can select either unlimited nationwide calling for 30 days or unlimited international calling for 30 days. Not only that, but the cell phone service also lists plans with 30-day of minutes. You can choose between 200 and 1000 minutes of airtime.
Another option is that you can purchase an airtime card, otherwise known as a refill card. Airtime cards are available at retailers like Wal-Mart and Amazon. Be warned, however, that if you purchase a refill card online, you may be facing shipping charges, meaning that you're paying more than what the actual card is valued at.
Net10 Family Plans
Net10's family plans (which won't be easy to view on the site if you're selecting the new customer status) can be adopted by two, three, or four people. Plans range from the first 3GB of high-speed data per line to 5GB of high-speed data per line for 30 days.
Net10 Data Plans
Net10 does feature data-only no-contract plans, ranging from 500MB data for 14 days of service to 5GB of data for 60 days of service. These are for use with Net10 mobile hot spots only.
Net10 Cell Phones
Phones provided by Net10's website are not exactly up-to-date. For instance, the service may offer the Samsung Galaxy S5, but the iPhone is nowhere to be seen.
With that being said, the latest upgrade CDMA phones and GSM phones are offered on an additional Net10 Wireless Store, powered by Quality One Wireless. However, to access this page, you need to select the Upgrade Plan Phones tab from the Net10 Wireless main store. From there, you can select the latest GSM phones and CDMA phone, including the Google Pixel.
Net10's website may be confusing to navigate and find the phone you want.
Fortunately, Net10 features a flexible Bring Your Own Phone service, which is compatible with a wide variety of phones. You may need to unlock your phone if you haven't done so already.

According to the official Net10 FAQ does not offer insurance for its phones, but it may add plans in the future.
To activate your phone with Net10's service, all you need to do is visit the activation page provided by the site, or call 877-836-2368.
Net10 offers a physical mobile hotspot, which allows you to connect up to 10 devices to the internet.
Net10 offers the ZTE Z289L 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot, which comes complete with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity and connections with up to five devices.
A SIM card, which secures the subscriber's phone identity, is typically included with every phone purchase.
Net10's SIM card will only work on certain phones. You must purchase either an AT&T or T-Mobile compatible SIM card or a Verizon Compatible 4G LTE Activation Kit, which often goes for cheap.
Deals, Promotions & Discounts
Net10 offers deals, but they're not exactly easy to find, even on the front page of the service's site. That being said, you can save on phones and plans.
Furthermore, Net10 will be offering a loyalty program (through its parent TracFone), but the program's site is currently under construction.
Net10 relies on other LTE networks for its service. In fact, the cell phone company utilizes Sprint network's, AT&T's, Verizon's, and T-Mobile's LTE network towers to provide you with top-tier coverage and service. If you'd like to see the coverage maps, you can compare said coverage maps between these big four cell phone providers with our article, "Who Has the Best Cell Phone Coverage?"
According to many reviews, Net10's customer service can offer a poor experience, featuring customer representatives that are unable to even answer basic questions. However, if you're willing to take the chance with the service, there are a variety of methods suggested to contact its support team (if you can find them on the site):
- Call customer service
- Contact via snail mail
- Refer to provided FAQs
- Access the support forum
- Connect via social media
- Access Live Chat
How to Change Your APN Settings
Net10 offers flexible plans at affordable monthly fees and strong, reliable coverage, but I'm not sure if the service is worth the time when factoring in the abysmal website navigation, conflicting information, and horrendous customer service. There are certainly better MVNO carriers out there, like US Mobile, Tello, Twigby.
