Is PureTalk phone service any good?

To begin-there is not a "contract" with Pure Talk.

Wait time can sometimes be long-30-60 minutes-same as Consumer Cellular and the others. They have always fixed my problem (s) with very little wait time. Pay 70-$90.00 a month with the others for exactly what you get with Puretalk for $30-$40

Impossible to activate, no available customer svc

Phone impossible to set up and learn features, never received SIM card, can’t reach customer service, took the phone for help to use (Walmart) where it was advertised to be sold, salespeople refused to help and said they no longer carry the phone. There were no instructions accompanying the phone, no Nokia model number. Disaster

Good at first now no texting is working... tl

Tech support was no help... no chance I'm staying.

There support team stinks!

Was on hold for over an hour just to get disconnected. Called back held for another hour just to get disconnected again!

Extremely frustrating

This is the worst phone service I've EVER had. Constantly drops calls. I have to actually go outside to make a call. Then it still takes about 3 times in order for the person to hear me or vice versa. I can't believe Ben Shapiro is promoting this! Its terrible. I was with Net 10 for about 8 years. I never should have switched. Dumb move on my part. Never again.

Terrible customer service! Be warned!

Wait time over 1 hour; had to hang up. Voice mail not working properly. Wife not able to access downloaded photos sent by daughter, and lost cell service just a few miles from our house - unable to call her physician. All completely unacceptable. Not worth the lower rates ..going back to my original carrier.

Not to be over dramatic but it deserves 1 star

All the 1 star reviews are accurate . They perfectly describe the terrible experience I had with pure talk. I have had it for a week . I cant take it any more. I have been on the phone with them every day. Phone doesnt receive pics or group texts . and occasionally doesnt even make calls. my phone is older but it did work perfectly with att . Now my daughters i phone 12 is not making calls. I am done . It is junk. Its pretty bad when you call customer service and start to get the same people and know them by name. Steer clear of this one my friends

Lose data, oh well

I lost data for some unknown reason and all their solutions for me did not work, they wouldn’t let me out of their contract and just left me to fix this issue on my own which has not been resolved. Can’t use data at all and no one knows why, screw puretalk, worst customer service and terrible service in general. I’ve had nothing but issues with them. Can’t send or receive photos, can’t be involved in group chats, etc. will never suggest puretalk to anyone.

Unresponsive customer service

Your 50% discount but much less after $5.00 mandatory charge. Screwed up number transfer from att and never responded to my emails.

Spent many hours on the phone

I am currently on the phone with them. It has been 20 minutes. Their reps are either poorly trained or purposely deceptive. I asked for a postage paid shipping label to return the phone they sent with a bad sim card. At the "end" of the call the rep asked if I had any more questions. I tried to verify- if the shipping label was being sent by mail would I have time to get the phone returned within the 14 day required time period for a refund. She said that it was not a postage paid label that she was mailing and I should use the label they sent already. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to tech support instead. After 24 minutes on the phone NOTHING was resolved. I now have to wait for a call back after being transferred to customer service to start the process over again. By the way I had to make 4 phone calls yesterday to them.

Been on the phone 4 1/2 hours just to pay a bill.

Did the punch no 2 so they will call back. Omg. Never one phone call returned

Internet connection during night hours is terribl

After reading these horrible reviews and receiving very slow Internet speeds during night hours, I’m just cited to return to Straight Talk. I had to return to using my old iPhone 6 to use pure talk. I was not aware of my new iPhone SE was locked with Straight Talk. It’s been a crazy hassle.

Customer service bad, phone features not working

The transfer of our 3 phones was tedious. Twice when I called customer service I was on hold 40 min. I can't access my vm. Their tech dept talked me through how to get into it. Still can't. PureTalk supposedly uses all the same towers as Verizon, but we are all experiencing slow or no features available that we had before Pure Talk. Texts and emails don't come through at all all or sometimes the next day. I can't send short videos I take. I wanted to save money, but this is ridiculous.

Very Disappointed!

We were very happy to leave T-mobile and pay half of what we had been paying for a company we felt good supporting. All was fine for the first several months. Not now. I have been on the phone literally hours this week trying to get ahold of a customer service that doesn't exist! I sit on the phone for an hour and it just disconnects and I have to start all over again. I have to hear the annoying music and carry my phone around with me in case I get lucky. I can't get on the internet. My voicemail isn't working. Pictures won't send. I can't get group texts. Did I say I want to break the phone listening to the annoying music for two hours? They have led me through a whole series in order to get a new APN number. It didn't do squat. Mark Levin, why are you promoting this joke of a company?

Terrible customer service

The absolute worst customer service ever. We ported over 3 lines, 2 work fine but the third has had problems with data for 6 weeks solid. We have called 3 dozen times, been on hold for countless hours, 3-4 hours at a time, and nothing is resolved. The agent doesn’t show record of former calls even though we have exact names and dates and times. “We have no record of that agent, the next time you should get the last name.” When we asked for *her* last name she won’t give it. Ordered and reordered a new SIM card, it never arrived. Reordered, now we have to PAY for a new SIM card and shipping for no reason. They won’t compensate or credit for the lack of data since we joined 6 weeks ago, won’t refer us to a manager and often times transfer and disconnect. There is no way to resolve with no upper management to intervene. Pitiful.

Pure Talk higher price, bad customer service, misr

The phones are complicated to set up, poor customer resolution. Over charging for Data on my husbands phone, who uses no data. Was told we had 30 days to cancel, but when we called theu informed us it was only 14 days to return phones. We were told our bill was high, because we got the phones for $50 each, which was supposed to be all the price our phones were to cost. The phones we received, are $50 at Walmart for Straight Talk. Not even 30 days in and totally dissatisfied. Also, we had to call and enter a lot code into our phones to get full usage of our text.

Some Parts OK but not all

Voice and sms work ok but MMS (Photos with text) will not send or receive!

Spotty Coverage, cellular data(internet)brakes

Last month I subscribed to Pure Talk. I’d heard great things about it on TV & radio. I financed a new IPhone 12 Pro through PT so I could save $250 off the phone . Since then I’ve had constant problems. The internet loses its connection frequently especially when I leave my home WiFi. I called Pure Talk & spoke to a Rep.-she couldn’t figure out how to help. Wish I had not left Straight talk (with Verizon)where I had NO problems. I hope PT will let me break my 2 year finance agreement, buy the phone so I change my cell phone carrier. I am very frustrated !

You get what you pay for.

I went into this wanting to believe I was being overcharged by Verizon and for the 1st six weeks I had pure talk my voice, email and internet service was acceptable but It was hit or miss trying to send a photo attached to a text message. Most of the time it failed. After six weeks my voice calls started to be dropped. At other times I couldn't make calls at all. Prior to this I had been with Verizon for 15yrs and not once had a dropped call or not been able to send a photo attached to a text message. Calling pure talk technical support or customer service was of no help since the problem wasn't with my device but with the pure talk service. Pure talk uses the AT&T cell network but AT&T customers get preference. Which means if the AT&T customer traffic is high in your area, pure talk customers will have poor service and there is nothing you can do. If your phone is important to you, you want it to work. Paying for a service that doesn't work doesn't save you money. I learned my lesson and switched back to Verizon.

but customers service lacks

Don’t always get voice messages. Having issues with email received stating someone changed my password and to call them if I didn’t. You call and are on hold for 25-30 minutes.
