Is PureTalk phone service any good?
None
After hearing about this company on Rush Limbaugh's show, I decided to give this service a shot. Turns out they aren't all that great. They clearly don't have the capacity to handle all of the new business they've been getting. It takes up to days to receive an email and my reception is poor.
Customer service
Customer service is incredibly professional and helpful but the wait times are much longer compared to any other carrier I've been with.
Prices
I was told that the service would be on AT&T's network so I assumed that would mean the same quality. Instead I'm getting dropped calls and very slow data access. I'm getting 3g when I should be getting 4g!
Poor compatibility
I was lured into PureTalk by promises of cheaper bills, and sure the bills have been cheaper, but overall I can hardly use the service. Turns out wifi calling isn't really supported on my Android. Seems like a lot of Android phones don't support PureTalk's wifi calling but apparently iPhone works way better with the service. I wish I had known this before purchasing the service.
Coverage
5 stars for coverage, 2 stars for tech support since it can take almost an hour to get a hold of anyone.
Price
Price is comfortable and have no issues. Very pleased with Pure Talk.
Service
Amazing inexpensive service!!!!
Customer service
I was initially reluctant to leave Verizon because of their quality but when I switched over to Pure Talk, I only regret that I didn't switch sooner! Hooking me up to the service was smooth and fast and the service members who helped me were professional. Very delighted with the low prices and amazing service! Planning to tell everyone about Pure Talk!
Customer support, prices
Customer support is located right in the US and they are super knowledgable. My bill has been so much less too since switching over from AT&T. Better yet I get the same quality of service: no "dead zones" or disconnects!
Coverage
Was disappointed to learn that I was getting minimal coverage. Most of the time, even in my own home, I would get one or two bars though the map indicated I would be receiving strong coverage.
Data
Pure Talk's cheap but don't them fool you into thinking you're getting a good value for it. They completely cut your data off when you hit your limit, not throttle. You can't even add any more data until your next 30-day cycle starts. Was hung up on when trying to talk to customer service about it. PureTalk just isn't worth the hassle.
Quality phone calls
I'm glad that I made the switch to PureTalk. While the customer service leaves much to be desired, the capabilities are fantastic. The calls don't drop and are crystal clear. I had to buy a new phone to get the service since my previous carrier didn't unlock my phone. 4 stars.
Customer service, unreliable service
Phone service is spotty and unreliable despite PureTalk supposedly covering my area. Customer service is difficult to access. At least Verizon is more reliable even if it is expensive.
Data speeds
Data speeds are WAY TOO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW! Can't get anything done with how slow it is.
Customer support
PureTalk's customer service is horrific. You'll be treated rudely. They don't want to help the customer at all!
Rude customer representatives
This is the worst service I've ever had. I even had to argue with customer service when I had a problem with my SIM card! I was so tired of jumping through the hoops just to get a new SIM card that I gave up and swapped back to another carrier.
Every thing
I signed up with pure talk to save money on my cell phone bill. What a mistake! They took seventy dollars from me to sign up and receive sim cards. One of them didn't work so I had to wait for another one. Then I went though a back and excuse session on why they could not port my phone numbers from Verizon. I called technical assistance, then after a long wait they answered and redirected my call, then another long wait I spoke to someone who told me they would not refund my money because it… had been longer than 30 days. This was not my fault but the fault of the porting department.
I chosen this provider because of cheap prices. Ho
Run away from this provider
No communication, poor service,
I signed up with them couple months ago. You get what you pay for. I am a current Verizon customer and while I was attempting to get a less expensive service I cannot use Pure Talk. Had a simple question about porting a sim card and changing number. That was a 45 minute wait only to be REDIRECTED to main menu to start all over again. All carriers have their customer service issues but this is unacceptable. The one person I did get to speak with didn't even know how a GSM phone worked. Chea…per comes at a huge price and headache. They say they're veteran owned and I want to support our vets but they will have to seriously up their game to win my money.
Customer service, disruptions
I had a disruption issue a while ago which was fixed by customer service, but to even access customer service was problematic. The website wasn't user friendly for me. And it took well over an hour to even reach customer service.
