Is Red Pocket phone service any good?

Horrible customer service

For last 5 days I am not able to use my phone due to the att shutdown. The customer support is unreachable. Horrible and completely unethical.

Good luck if you need help!

My phone, even if 4g compatible, stopped working after ATT shut down. Customer service was not able to figure out why. They suggested to switch to GSMT network. They sent me two new sim cards but I was supposed to buy new plans, in their opinion. I had to spend 3 hours chatting with the customer service, and they finally agreed to transfer my old plans to the new sims. I was ok with RP until I had this issue. It was unacceptable to waste so much time.

Terrible customer service

Very very long wait times. Not helpful at all. As long as there are no issues all is fine but if you do need to come on to their customer service you'll remember the experience for a very long time. It is HELL. Wait on the phone for a long time (between 30 minutes and 2 hours) and then sometimes their system hangs up on you mid sentence (it says "Thank for calling. goodbye" and hangs up). Stay away from them and don't touch them even with a long pole.

Avoid like the plague

Ever since new management took over last year, this company's service has been a total disaster. And now with the 3G shutdown even effecting 4G phones, it's the straw that breaks the camel's back. They are not only incompetent. They are also unethical. I'm suppose to get 3GB of data each month but they start me at only 1! Most other carriers have had a seamless transition with the 3G shutdown, including their sister company Unreal Mobile which uses the same AT&T backbone. I've been through more hassle and lost income over the past few days than I can begin to describe thanks to Red Pocket Mobile. Avoid this carrier!

Customer service not good

I've had this service for over 2 years with no issues. But since the 3G shutdown I've not been able to make or receive calls. I've spent hours and hours just for someone to pick up. Several times I finally got someone on the line and was mysteriously disconnected. And God forbid they put you on hold. Their trouble shooting didn't help so I had to move on. New sim card works fine. Now if I can just get somebody to pick up and port out my number.

If like being on my hold for 40 minutes you will love it. Porting your nu mber lol

Very bad customer service.

My phone supports 3G and 4G and since they cut off 3G service that includes phones that handle both AND they didn't notify me. Everytime you call prepare to stay on hold 20-30 minutes or longer before getting a representative. I called to port my number out to another carrier I was on hold for exactly 49 minutes before getting a live body. I waited on hold for an additional 25 minutes while they looked up my account number and PIN. Chatting has not been an option as of late because representatives are never available and they take at least 2 days to respond to emails. Overall service was fine until it wasn't.

Don't Do It!

Just recently switched one of my Att phones to Red Pocket Mobile and nothing works. All my calls are full of static and the internet will not work. Attempted to contact them today several times. Finally waited until I got home and was on hold for 45 minutes. When they finally answered they kept asking me why I was calling. I repeated over and over nothing is working, I am a new customer. They repeated again and then the phone was disconnected and they did not call me back. Cancelling my services immediately.

One Star is ONE TOO MANY

Despicable company The WORST customer relations experience that I have EVER had with ANY company in my 68 years. DO NOT expect to speak to any agent in the USA, THEY WILL NOT CONNECT YOU!!!

I wish I was never told about red pocket they leave you on hold for hours and weeks before you can get anything accomplished with that never happens they get their money and you get nothing the service sucks so now I have to go back to where I started with MetroPCS thank God I can hear a phone finally ring

Terrible service!

I bought 4 yearly plans. After 3 months 3 lines lost all service. Red Pocket not respond to calls or emails. Their virtual assistant transfers you to web-site that charges $46 a month! Will never deal with them again.

It is great until you need to talk to someone.

I've had Red Pocket for about a year and a half. The thing I liked about it was the price, of course, but the main thing was I could do the complete transaction online without having to speak with any one. Everything was fine until I changed phones and some how lost the ability to connect with the network. I tried every fix I could find online but no luck. So I called the "customer service" after over an hour on hold I got some guy that didn't speak English trying to tell me to do all the things I had already done. To take the sim card out and wait 20 minutes and try to make a call (just to get rid of me because he didn't know any more than me). Still no service. There is no way to deal with such problems and it is only worsened when you a talking to some exterrestrial tribal member that could care less.

HORRIBLE! Service shut off regularly

I purchased unlimited calling and unlimited data for my son. They have cut off my son's data every single month for 5 months now. They have now begun disconnecting my calls at 30 minutes. When I called they said I had used an "unreasonable" number of calls. The dude said I was on a call for 5,000 minutes! LOL Most of my calls are under 10 minutes. Total fraud.

Part of AT&T, too many solicitors, they probably sell your # and they automatically renew without your consent and when you try to switch to another co., they lock you onto the AT&T network, took 1 month to get unlocked and the phone wasn't theirs to begin with. Very poor customer service, billing is a nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY unless you want to be ripped off

Charged me without activating

Untrustworthy

SCAM! DO NOT USE RED POCKET. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY! Unacceptable delays for support. I signed up for a promotion that included a free sim. IT DID NOT WORK. I was forced to purchase another one at full retail price. They also do not make it clear that it auto renewal is default. I was charged a second month without consent at full price. I contacted them on the day of renewal. They refused to give a refund. SCAM! DON'T BELIEVE THEIR PRICING OR CLAIMS.

Terrible Experience

I usually do not write reviews but had to share my experience. I bought a yearly plan and wanted to port in from my current carrier. Long story short, it's more than a month, and redpocket still hasn't been able to port the number. I called current carrier, and redpocket multiple times, and each point to the other as the problem. I have previously ported out numbers from current carrier to others, without any issues, so my guess is it's redpocket issue. I get the same message from redpocket i.e. the issue has been escalated and will resolve in 24-48 hours. It's already been a month. At this point if I can get my money back, I would happily go somewhere else.
