Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

mobile customer service is a joke

I wanted to return two brand new phones because my 85 year old father got them for no reason the end of December, I tried (for over 4 hours) to send back brand new phones and spectrum management now wants a Power of Attorney from my dad to return NEW NEVER OPENED PHONES just received. I had 6 lines I was going to convert for my family, but NO WAY

Worst customer service representatives

I've had them for a few years now I didn't have any problems. But one month I was late paying my fault I know, I was having issues with my bank and debit card. I called explaining the issue and was told by one representative that I would be OK for a few days. Very next day phone service was interrupted So I called again and explained what happened and they were just uncaring in a very passive aggressive customer service voice saying that there's nothing they can do and oh well. After being with them for a couple years I never thought that I would be treated like that. Just be careful with spectrum mobile

I wish there was a lower rating than one star.

Nobody in the customer service department seems to 1) know what they are talking about. 2) do what they say would.

Kept charging me after I cancelled

I canceled my service because it kept going out and was just awful internet. After I canceled and turned in my equipment 4 months ago they have continued to charge me my monthly fee from when I had there service. Everytime I call I get some rude person who is no help and just says that they can not cancel transactions. They give you the worst device possible and then steal your money after you decide to go for better.

Not that great

Definitely not the great service that I was pitched when I switched from Verizon. Although you are told that it runs off of Verizon towers, there are a lot of places where I get no service at all that I did receive service with Verizon. Definitely not worth what it costs. I would rather paid the 20.00 more with Verizon, and actually have service when I need it.

I have been nothing but disappointed with switch

First of all I was skeptical about the 0.00 for a year but I reluctantly switched from tmobile in which I never had an issue in the 3 years there. But I trusted the worker to know what he was talking about...well of course when I seen my bill on line for the 1st month it was 33.40. .I called and was on the phone for over an hour at which point I was told the associate at the store gave me the wrong info...finally after over an hour I was told my account was fixed and I would be at 0.00/month and that 33.40 would not be taken out of my checking acct. Well guess what IT WAS...so I call back and after almost an hour n a half I was told my acct was credited and I should expect a refund in 2 to 5 business days...A week later NO REFUND...I call back and after another hour and a half. I'm told there will be no refund and the first 2 to 3 months I will pay 29.99...NO BODY EVER SAID THIS ONE TIME TO ME NO SUCH THING TO ME EVER....IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD...I WILL BE GOING BACK TO TMOBILE...SPECTRUM IS THE WORST.

I've had no problems with Spectrum mobile service

The negative reviews for Spectrum mobile is confusing. Verizon is rated one of the top cellular companies in America. Spectrum is using Verizon towers. I have to question some of the negative reviews.

Terrible!

Took a payment from my debit card without my permission! Left me with nothing in my bank. They don’t care about their customers!

The worst experience I've ever had !!!!

Trac phone is better than spectrum. You call you will be on hold a minimum of 45 minutes just to be told they can't help you. You will need to call a different number. If the cell phone worked the data didn't.in the two months I had them, the two worked together for 1 week. Two different phones, 2 different sims ..no different.. Save your money and time.

Will not honor their warranty

They have a 14-day new device warranty but will not honor it. I bought a new cell phone from their website that has a defect. I reported it before the 14 day ended but every time I call and chat to get it replaced they transfer me then promise to call back or email but they never do. Do not buy from their website unless you're prepared to go through the manufacturer's warranty instead.

Wait a long time for your to be activated 7 days

Walked into the Spectrum store bought a new phone went though all the porting info and after 7 days my new phone is activated but it took 37 phone calls 3 trips back to the Spectrum store, a FCC complaint and a call to Mr Higgins customer relations so do you feel luckily?

THE WORST SPEED EVER.. I'm switching.

THE WORST SPEED EVER! PLUS, Spectrum increased my bill $10 per month with no warning nor explanation, aside from fees that I found that were contradictory to its commercials. No nonsense my butt. Totally unsatisfied. Richard McGee.

It is abusive.

When I called them on thier customer service line I was directed to go a store for help. This is after I already went to the store for help and was told to call the customer service line. I told the customer service line that the store refused to help me and directed me back to them. The customer service line replied " the store should help you , if they refuse have them call this number. I then set a 10am appointment with the store , they refused to help me I asked them to call the number that the call line they gave me. They refused, and when I asked to speak to a manager at the store, the guy said the manager wasn't in. Then I told the guy I'm not leaving till I got some help and rpeated I had a 10am appointment. He then stood up in and got in my face so I stood up. Things got loud at that point because I reallly could not believe this was happening. Then the manager ( who wasn't supposed to be thier comes out of the back and accuses me of threatining the employee , and asked me to leave at this point I gave up and left.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET!!!!

Where do i leave MINUS 100 STAR review. New account cannot be activated. Spectrum store service people cannot help… very limited phone hours… LONG LONG LONG LONG WAITS ON THE PHONE!!! After FINALLY cancelling the service i continue to be billed every month…. I call and get a refund only to be billed again next month for service i do not have!!!!!! SPECTRUM MOBILE SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS FOR HOW THEY MANAGE ACCOUNTS!!!!

Horrible experience switching from Straight Talk.

Hours and hours in the store and on the phone. 11 days to get my son's phone activated then found out the "unlimited data" is limited to almost nothing. The people you talk to at "customer service" are unable to provide customer service. Massive mistake changing to Spectrum.

Save time and money and DONT EVEN THINK TO SWITCH.

HORRIBLE. We spent an entire afternoon trying to get assistance on the phone and drove to the strore twice. All we wanted to do was leave spectrum to go back to another mobile provider and in order to leave we had to pay off a cell phone we bought from them. Well at the store we WERE GIVEN ONE PRICE AND THE PAY OFF PRICE WAS OVER $100 MORE?? We traded in my husbands cell and the only way to get it back was to call the company it got shipped to and beg for it back. We switched to spectrum to save $15 /month with I will GLADLY PAY ANOTHER MOBILE COMPANY THAT WILL ATLEAST LISTEN TO US WHEN WE CALL THEM. BEING TRANSFERED OVER AND OVER FROM ONE REPRESENTATIVE TO ANOTHER WILL MAKE YOU EXTREAMLY FRUSTRATED AND MAKES YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE GO UP AND A PERSON WILL DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO TELL THE WORL ABOUT THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THEY HAD!

Great! Verizon couldn’t come close to the quality and price I pay now! I save and have two new phones, unlimited data talk text for much less! Totally satisfied, should have left Verizon years ago!

Loud & Clear

Actual performance has been the best of any carrier I've had in the past 15 years. No dropped calls, texts & emails come through immediately. I would have given a 5 star except I have a continuous issue with over billing for 2 lines that I shut down in June 2022. I am billed for these 2 non existent lines every single month. I have to call every single month, CSR generates an order, a credit is given only to have to repeat this process the next billing cycle. It's getting real old. $45.00 over charge every month. I'm on a fixed income so that $45.00 IS important to my survival. One more time....I'm done. I feel like should I NOT stay on top of this, they're OK keeping that over charge & would not or could not ever address it on their own. Disappointed

Elizabeth, needs more training! I was there for 4 hours and they were closing and she said sorry, can’t help you anymore we are closed… you can go home and activate your phone!
