Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

They don't provide the services they advertise

No one in customer service could solve my problem or provide a solution

WORST COMPANY FOR CANCELATION!

It took over a month for this company to release all our phones back to Verizon. They continued to charge us, and on three of our five lines, they said they were canceling the line, and didn't. So we had to continue to hound them. It feels like they hold you hostage as long as possible so they can bleed every last dime out of you. When you call they pass you around to 5-6 people, and everyone is like "well it was never canceled." So BAD!!

The service itself is not that bad I have my wifi through them as well as my mobile but their customer care support team are just awful if you get a guy named TJ or marquis just try someone else because not only do they not know anything about how to fix any problems but they lie that they've fixed the problem in order to just get you off the phone. After 10 calls later and me getting to a guy named Kevin only then was I actually helped. It was awful I had to wait on hold for so long to only get connected to people who knew nothing about their own job. I wouldn't recommend spectrum. Get another service if you're thinking of spectrum.

They SUCK

I switched my Mobile service to Spectrum on March 9th. The service was so bad that I decided to cancel within the 14 days. I called on March 23rd or 24th to cancel the rep told me I was within the 14 days and he sent me an empty box and label to return the iPhone 13 promax. I received the the box on the 25th and immediately packed up the phone and took it to FedEx that day. I received a bill for the amount of the phone on Apr 11 called and informed someone that I returned the phone. She told me not to worry about it and that she will take care of it. Boy was I wrong! On May 11 I received another bill not only did Spectrum try to pull over $1000 out of my account for a phone that was returned to them in a box they sent to me with a label they generated but they are THEY are calling me a thief! I called this company again on yesterday and was on the phone with 2 reps both over and hour. I called and asked for a manager and the Rachel insisted on assisting me. She not only asked me for information about the tracking number that I received from Spectrum which I provided but she had the nerve to tell me that the phone was returned to my house and that I need to contact the police and call FedEx to run a trace I’ve told this girl the tracking number I gave you was the tracking number that I received from spectrum for the empty box that I used to send back the phone. I have never in my life dealt with someone who was so incompetent that I could just scream. I ask for the supervisor that I called for initially after an hour spending time on the phone for nothing. Then she had the nerve to tell me that I will receive a call from a supervisor within 24 to 48 hours. I will never ever deal with spectrum mobile again and as soon as my neighborhood have more than spectrum Internet I will be leaving this godforsaken company. I will be contacting their corporate office and they need to find that phone that I sent back to them and delete that bill what a trashy company.

They still billed me even my number transferred

Their billing system and network coverrage suck. They still billed me even I transferred my number to another network for more than 1 month. I had to call them to remove my accounts on their system even my number is working on new sim card.

Fixing phones

I had got a phone from spectrum, galaxy 21, about 7 months into having the phone the screen goes black. I was told to send the phone back and they would send me a new phone which I did. That was about a month ago. Fast forward to today. I received a text message from spectrum that my payment didn't go through. First off my payment isn't due until May 14, so I go into my account to find out I owe them over 1400 dollars. According to them, I owe them for the new phone even though I sent the old one back and they marked it damaged. I obviously don't have that kind of money so I said I'd send the phone back. They refused that. Said I had until may 7 the to pay them or my service will be turned off. Csr reps lie to you. And they shouldn't be allowed to run someone's bank card for such a high amount with no notice.

Great service great savings

Have used service for years and very few interruptions. No complaints.

Unwilling to work with customers

I had called and spoke to customer service and to a manager about my bill. They only do auto pay and I had explained to them that my check would be there the day after my bill was due. I said is there anyway to postpone my payment until the day after. They said we are unable to do that but if you change the date on the card on file it should kick out the payment because all the numbers do not match so I took their word for it. Needless to say my account is in the negative currently because the payment came out as normal. I called customer service they were unwilling to assist me in this matter I told them that I would be going to a different carrier this weekend even if I had to pay more. This was the second time it happened.

Poor customer service

I tried to change my address on my mobile account when moving out of state. Got passed from Mobile Dept, to Internet Dept, back to Mobile, over to Fraud Dept. then back to Mobile Billing Dept. This was 45 minutes on the phone to be told I cannot change the address on my phone account because I no longer have Internet with them and that was required for an address change on mobile. Strange business practice.

The worst customer service I’ve ever had.

If they cannot fix a problem they will transfer you 30 times. The stores can’t fix issues at all if they have a problem they direct you to customer service and then they will transfer you for hours on end to department to department.

Not the best at all

I was with AT&T for nearly 20 years, and in that time I never had to worry about waiting for pages to load, slow email, and receiving text messages later than they were sent. I experience all of those issues often with Spectrum. The plans maybe cheaper, but you get what you pay for I guess. I’ll probably be switching back soon.

When phone on ring does not ring or vibrate

Myself and others are missing calls as the calls are not ringing in or vibrating. Can check call log and see a call was missed. All settings have been checked and the issue reported to Spectrum Mobile by many people. Spectrum mobile has no answer when you talk to them and no effort to resold for myself or others with the same issue

SCAM AND STEAL MONEY ADD MONEY WHEN YOU CANCEL

Due to poor service, I gave notice to cancel service with Spectrum mobile a month before billing date of 12/21. Accordingly the service was shut off 12/21. Because I was unhappy with their service they increased the price of the phone from the $449. price when purchased and they continued to try , in spite of service being turned off , steal monthly payments for months after my service was cancelled. One of their employees confirmed that my phone was $449 and that they could not escalate price and my bank has confirmed the months that they continued to try to steal payments for months the phone was no longer in service. Now they have escalated the price higher and have sent me to a collection agency after they tried to scam me on the price of the phone and criminally steal money from my bank for service no longer provided. At this point, I think they owe me money for harassment, scamming on phone price because I left their service and criminally attempting to steal money and con people at my bank to release funds to them. My bank has notified of the months they tried to steal money from me.

Excellent Service

I ordered everything over the website to bring both my phones over. Everything arrived in the mail in 24 hours. I went on line to activate both phones and it was so easy. The service has been excellent with no problems. Keep up the great work!!

Never trade in your phone and get service

Back in December 2021 I traded my Samsung S21 to get new service and a Iphone 13 with Spectrum. I did the whole trade in deal and was told once Assurant who is their 3rd party that they use would let them know when they received the phone and how much of a credit to issue. So I waited and today 4/11/2013 I decided to check with Spectrum on why I haven't received my credit because I knew Assurant had received the Phone. Spectrum proceeded to tell me it wasn't in the system, it was never received and unless I could provide proof there was nothing the would do. So I provided them proof in everyway they asked me for it to then be told that I could file a claim with Assurant or USPS. Assurant said they have no records of any of it even though I have proof and USPS refuses to file a claim due to not getting insurance on the package as after I provided proof that they received it and I thought the package was insured due to it being their prepaid shipping label that I used. So in the end I am just out the phone and the money that was supposed to be applied to my account by Spectrum. As far as if I have been happy with the service I haven't been. Most of the time I have connectivity issues, slow internet even though I have a 5G phone, you name it. They provide excuses for it all and don't really care what kind of service I am receiving from them. I would never recommend them to anyone again.

I bought a cell phone from these people.

As I said I bought a cell phone I was with boost should have stayed with them. Got a new phone had my old number put in to new phone 4 or 5 months into the new phone I got up went over to turn my phone on notice screen was cracked they said I dropped it but I know I did not. Ran in to a former customer of theirs as you notice I said former customer he said he had the same phone and he told me what happened he said the phone got so hot on his the screen cracked he said spectrum would not stand behind it. Mine did the same they will not stand behind it. So like a dumb ass I went and bought the same one again it is the galaxy A020 phone this one was doing good for a week then started acting up it jumps from screen to screen as well as apps without you even touching the screen it will also sign you up for things I have scam artists calling all hours of the day and night I am also signed up for a bunch of games never played any of them called them told them what was going on they said to take the phone to store I did phone would not jump screen was about to leave and the phone started to act up. They said the screen was dirty so they cleaned it and it stopped for about 2 hrs then started acting back up and called the number again they said I might have to buy another phone it became very clear these people do not stand behind on anything. I told them how many times do I have to pop out 120.00 before you stand behind your product Well I am dropping spectrum and going back to boost mobile at least they stand behind their product

Don’t do it!

Spectrum Mobile will charge you for the phone payment as long as they can ! If you don’t have the money to buy a new phone, save the money up because they will put you on a payment plan for the device and keep charging your account ok my phone was supposed to cost $1400 (already over priced for an iPhone 12 Pro Max ) and I’ve done already paid them over that $1400 price and the greedy company still trying to get payment for the device it’s self plus the phone bill and they said “ after the device is paid for my phone bill will be $40 a month never seen that price because they still want to charge me for the phone even though I’ve already paid it off ! Talk about taking advantage of your customers! 🤬 Just want to warn people before getting involved in there so called payment plan! I mean if you can trick people into paying $103 a month instead of $40 a month after I know good and well the phone has been paid off then you would want $103 instead of $40 right? More money for them! I’m not stupid and I added up that $103 dollars a month for two years, that’s over $1400 dollars. They turned the phone off and Idc I’m going to get this phone unlocked and going back to my old phone company!

They didn’t honor my trade in agreement

Signed up for service and cancelled and returned device within the grace period, they continued to charge me, when I contacted them, they claimed device was not returned, I provided tracking # and then they claimed I returned a different device, I asked what they received and they did not know, they called back after research was done and said they did get the right device but it was missing something, I asked what was missing and they could not tell me, I so frustrated that I asked them to return what they received, they said they could not do that and that I needed to pay for it anyway, I asked for supervisor once again and was told I would get a call back. Never received a call back so I called them and was told they could not speak to me because the account was under my ex-husband’s name, which was news to me since I specifically asked to make sure account was under my name at time of sign up since I had been divorced for over 15 years. They refused to talk to me and they refused to provide information to escalate issue. 3 years later they sent account to collection agency, finally got a call back from their so called escalation team after filing complaint with Better Business Bureau and now they are claiming that the agents were incorrect and that the return box was empty, they still expect me to pay for something I returned 3 years ago. They take no responsibility for the miss handling of this issue…..don’t do it, do not sign up with this company! (I even saved voice mail from supervisor which clearly states they received a device)
