Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Service is unreliable

Despite using Verizon towers, I find myself having full bars and service that doesn’t work. I’m in the middle of a huge town and the data is super slow, I’m actually looking at switching to another carrier.

Monthly bill went from $14 per gig to $34.

When I signed up 5 years ago and bought their overpriced cell phone they never mentioned that if I shut down my home account my $14 per gig cell service would jump to $34. And when I turned in the equipment at their store I got no receipt and he would not help me with my cell plan. Talk about customer service. They really suck. I'm in transition home to rv and back to a new home and when I get moved in in the next few months Verizon will get none of my business ever again. Of course I';m sure they don't care.

Straight trash

Worst reception ever data doesn't work at all calls don't get received texts go through maybe 30% of the time and I have there internet and i bought the phone from them .. customer service tried to claim the poor service was due to having a outside phone I said no look at my account it your phone and she had nothing to say other than maybe I damaged the phone it's been on a case and screen protector since day one and has had the same issues since day one only a month in and regret switching .

I started with Spectrum mobile 3 yrs ago when the company was just testing it. I love it what company doesnt experience a few dropped calls , I can count on one hand how many dropped call I've had. Never had a bad experience and the only time it took a while for me to get my phn is when The new Iphone came out and my phn was on back order. I have never been on the phone waiting or on hold for more then 20 mins, but I'm a easier going person and i dont let things beyond my control frustrate me. But overall I am very satisfied with my service and the price I pay

I wish I had read reviews first

We have had Spectrum internet/cable/phone for about 10 years and have been fairly happy with the service. So I thought it made sense to use their wireless service. It was supposed to save me 200+ a month. We have 6 lines. So, it has been one of the most frustrating experiences. I was told my Note 20 ultra 5G phone with Verizon would not work on their system. I like my phone so I purchased a new one. It did not work from day 1. It dropped calls. It would have to be paired with all of my bluetooth devices EVERY DAY! They did not seem to think this was a problem. After 8 calls and hours of my time, often with rude agents, they finally replaced the new phone with a refurbished one. It works better but it's still a lot slower than my phone was on Verizon. Sadly, 2 of my kids have not gotten their phones activated because they can't spend hours on the phone with CS. So now I have 2 cell phone bills. Knowing now what I do I wish I had stayed with Verizon. Once I pay off this phone I will be moving companies.

If I could give half a star I would. THEY SUCK

Tried well OVER a month to change Mobil service with my original number. Lost my old number stuck with one of theirs & can’t retrieve any of my clouds or get into accounts because it’s associated with the ORIGINAL number!!! Was at their store for 3 & 1/2 hours late for work, only to lose the original phone number then on hold for SEVERAL HOURS…. SEVERAL different times, promises from their supervisors to get call backs in resolving this issue & NOTHING OR NO ONE has EVER contacted me back! Had to call old carrier to release my original phone number for a day only to have spectrum FO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Was on the phone for exactly one hour & seventeen minutes having to use both lines on my phone because was placed on hold & having no one return to give me anymore answers. Now that it’s been over a weeks time since the one day release of my old phone they again can’t do anything because too much time has lapsed. Absolutely infuriating & completely unprofessional the handling of their supervisors customer service! It’s no wonder they can’t seem to find any answers if their own supervisors don’t take their customer care service seriously!

Spectrum Mobile is TRASH!

I wanted to transfer my services from one device to another. First they told me I could go in store and have this done. I wasted my time because I couldn’t get a sims card in spectrum. Then when I called in to do it they told my I had to add another line to get a sims card and pay a full month of service. Why would I pay an additional full month of service if I already just paid my bill? Why couldn’t I transfer my current sims to my new phone and keep it pushing? Nothing about the way they handled their service made any sense. They need to improve a lot of things because right now their service is just a hassle.

Worst customer service in the market

Sat on hold for over 4 hours, transferred to 51 different representatives, no resolve to issues. Not one of the csr’s knew what they were doing. They lost my mobile account. Several tickets made up, no resolve. Asked for refund due to not receiving phones still no refund 340.85 after 4 weeks of dealing with this poor excuse for a company. Consumer BEWARE. Lies lies lies to get your money.

Spectrum has the worst mobile service.

I have been on Spectrum mobile for about 5 months and it is for sure the worst mobile service ever. I have to restart my phone a couple times a month just to make calls. Currently I cannot make any calls and restarting the phone don't help. So I have no way to contact anyone. I guess if I had a emergency I would be out of luck. Don't sign up with Spectrum Mobile.

Do not trust their clerks

The clerks will lie about return policies just to have you pay up as a customer. Buyer beware!

Didn't deal with my problems and pushed me off to someone else with 30 min wait at least each time with no resolution . Extremely frustrated !

Horrible customer service Incompetent

I purchased a phone for activation. Spectrum never activated the phone due to “technical difficulties “ after multiple promises not kept and the phone never activated I asked to return the phone. Spectrum gave me the runaround for 6 months. They then said it’s too late to return it. I would have to keep it. Never dealing with spectrum again!!!!

Unable to receive calls or texts most of the time

I had spectrum internet and had great bandwidth. I decided to get spectrum Mobile and could not be happier with the service. The prices are great, the signal is great even in rural Marshville, NC. They use Verizon towers so if Verizon signal is good so are they. I first ported in my number and brought my own phone. The experience was good over the phone. I don't know why so many negative reviews on customer service as this is my third upgrade and the process has been flawless and reciever the upgrade in just over a day from the time I upgraded. The only negative is that the spectrum wifi hotspots don't have much bandwidth. Best off using a different access point other then spectrum or just use the 5g mobile data. That is my only complaint at Almost 4 years into cell service with spectrum.

Dropped calls every day!

Cheaper than any other provider but it is not worth it when you have dropped calls, FaceTime freezes and never more than two bars! Called multiple times, even upgraded my phone and still terrible connection!

Never Return or Exchange a phone

A few month ago a customer service agent lied that my monthly bill $45 will drop to $29.99 each if I add a second or more line which I did only to find out on the day of new phone activation that the $29.99 is only applicable to the new and subsequent lines not my old one. At this point I requested to return the newly unactivated phone still in its brand new condition, I even made a video for youtube. I was surprised to get a $378 charge on my credit card claiming I sent back a damaged phone, I fought it to no luck, I even sent my video of packaging back the iPhone 13 in the same pristine condition but they instead sent me some fake pictures of a phone that's wasn't what I returned, I offered them to send the phone they claimed was damaged back to me and pay the full price because I have the IMEI number to compare their claims, but they wouldn't. So guys this company is a scam with their exchange and return. So be very careful with them, they operate with no dignity, they are very poor and hungry in their customership. 0 star to them.

Negative comments

I recently went to a local store and was contemplating getting mobile service with Spectrum...I doubt I will, out of 40 comments I've read 1 positive comment only. Is it that bad? Does the company not care?
