Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

service fine admin bad

Spectrum wrongfully withdrew money from my account then refused to put it back. Then I called to pay off a phone and they applied it to my cell bill which wasn't due by autopay.

Worst Service Ever

Spectrum sim wouldn’t work on my phone which works with other carriers just fine. Spectrum mobile customer service is a joke. Get ready to spend hours on the phone being transferred from department to department Talking to representatives who are confused and unable to help you. Most customer services can take care of in a few minutes, they will take a couple of hours. If you are lucky they can figure out how to a simple transaction such as cancellation and refund. Not sure if it’s the poor training or lack of bright people, the service is poor regardless.

A heartless greedy company!

Many families are struggling because of the relentless new wave of Covid. They have no compassion for families who have their service as an only means of communication.

I am surprised the ratings aren't lower & I usually don't leave reviews but I wanted to let ppl know the truth before they get stuck like I did.. Unless you have money to throw away then trust me when I say there are better plans out there. For one they won't allow you to pay according to your pay or income each month & they automatically just take your payment no matter it's not there even to the point of your account being overdrawn. No matter when you sign up for their service. Even prepaid works with you to work around your schedule so you can pay your bill on time. If you choose not to receive the protection on your phone if something happens to it, they won't even allow you to purchase a new phone with them(even if you have been with them for years) so that you can still have a phone to communicate if something happens to it & will charge you the plan regardless (so be careful) even if you don't have access to use it until you pay the device completely off. This is how you get forced to purchase their protection plan with them even if they give you a choice. So you're stuck. You then have to go through another phone service to buy the phone if you're without one even buy or find a phone that they would accept but you can't go through them. I even offered to ask the to add the new phone that would have been paid in full to the existing bill & they still wouldn't. Bottomline if you can find a company that works with you & doesn't give you such a hassle then do it. This has the worst I've seen so far

Poor service on everything

Activated phone, not working yet but a virus

Spectrum rep lied to get my business, then I called to activate my new phone through Spectrum tonight, status is "activated", no calls or texts possible. Can't call for support, and no help online til tomorrow. BUT I already have a virus on my computer from this, so that's fantastic. Do NOT go with Spectrum mobile. And I thought Mediacom and Verizon were bad... WOW, this takes the cake.

Spectrum is the WORST

While I was with them I had phone, internet, and TV. When I ended my internet and TV but kept mobile and they locked me out of the mobile app so I no longer had access to my payment statements or anything. Every little detail I had to call them just to get the information. Then when I decided to change carriers they made the transfer difficult. I paid my wife’s phone off so they can unlock it so we can transfer and they said it’ll take 3 days for an unlocked email to be sent and I called 3x in a span of TWO WEEKS because it was never sent. They finally forced the change and said an email would sent in 3-4hrs that will allow me to cancel my service and 4 days went by without me getting an email so I called them back to address. In a span of 3 weeks my account went into the next payment period so I told them I shouldn’t have to pay because my account should of been closed weeks ago and they said the only thing they could do for me is give me a $25 discount. Highly unprofessional! I don’t recommend this phone service!

Buyer beware! TEŔRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Spectrum sold me A02s in November. Phone types on its own. Spectrum says, not our issue, call Samsung. Lots of run around, Spectrum will not transfer phone date to my old phone while Samsung repairs. So they agreed I need to get new carrier. In time, gov't will close Spectrum I am sure. Once you sign up for mobile and things we range I'm ony own. PS I am disabled and they don't care. Horrible experience. If I send my phone to Samsung they will wipe it and I have no back up.

They only care about the sale,

New customers get deals, existing customers get the shaft, they want to hook customers, but once you become a customer they do not care about you at all

Seriously words don’t describe how unprofessional

Have no respect for customer service had a brand new iPhone 13 Pro took it to FedEx it in the box for some reason spectrum doesn’t have it FedEx doesn’t have it so now they’re holding me responsible after already buying two other iPhone 13 pros the phone has never been opened or activated since this past October they’re holding me responsible which is wrong terrible service no matter who you talk to they don’t care!

Spectrum Representative Lied to sell me

After learning the spectrum employee lied to me regarding the ability to pick up my phone at a local office! I called to cancel my order within less than 24hrs! After speaking to 6 different people! They confirmed that they stopped the shipment with FedEx/I checked the next day with the tracking #!provided by Spectrum! They never cancelled my delivery! Never even tried! The 2nd major LIE from a representative of spectrum mobile! I now have to wait until the phone is delivered in order to return it! Not one person had the authority or courtesy to just cancel my order and refund my money! From the moment I tried to cancel my order! I got strung along until , of course the phone supposedly got shipped ! It had not been when I spoke with the 1st representative! This by far is the worst ever experience I have had with any company ever! I would not purchase 1 thing from Spectrum if I were you! Combined with Lies, the lack of common sense help and the idea of them just letting the phone get delivered to me so they can collect some fee from me for some wrong reason is despicable! Buyer beware-Have not had to say that in 40years but with Spectrum-you really have to!

I think it’s great!!!

I find some of the negative reviews very difficult to believe. Missing phones, missing money, fraudulent accounts, scratched phones??? Am I missing something? Was the phone not cleared, and reset to factory settings before being sent back? Why were you even wore about paying your cell phone bill if you’re planning your daughters funeral? We’re you behind on the bill to begin with? I’ve been with Spectrum for over two years. I have never had any issues with anything. Their prices are great, their product options are great, and service is reliable. There is no way I would go back to US Cellular, and pay more than twice as much for the EXACT SAME THING!!! All these big name carriers just rip you off! Verizon, AT&T…no thanks. Sounds to me that most of the problems others have had were self inflicted.

Spectrum requires your SSN, DOB, drivers license.

To add a third phone to my service they require a credit check (but I've locked my credit scores after the hack of Equifax), my SSN, my date of birth, and a photo of my drivers license. People always tell you to not hand out your personal information but Spectrum requires everything for no discernable reason.

Not accredited with the BBB for a reason

Was going to get cell service through spectrum,called, talked to an idiot that totally screwed up every step of the process. Billed us,but put everything on our landlords account,wrong emails sent to wrong people,changed me to my landlord as account owner and everything else they could screw up, THEY DID! Needed to send my driver's license to complete the process (which after deciding there was too much incompetence to go with their service), I didn't! 2 days later,the morons went ahead and charged my bank account. Called and was told we couldn't possibly have gotten the cell account without giving my social security number which I never give out over the phone and didn't give them ever. Now I can't get them to refund my account because THEY ARE COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL,KNOW NOTHING, DOUBLE SPEAKING IDIOTS THAT SHOULDN'T BE IN BUSINESS!!!

Representatives don't talk or let you know about

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING purchased a phone had it a month it got dropped accidentally called to see if it can be fixed come to find out I had no insurance n won't be fixed imagine a Samsung galaxy flip z3 n no insurance now im stuck with a phone I cant use I have to pay over 700$ to upgrade or wait 19mons to get a phone pretty sad if you ask me!!!!! Poor customer service

Worst experience I've had buying a phone.

From the 1st visit to the store where I was told they would not support the new Motorola phone I just purchased on line from Motorola on their bring your own phone program. 2nd - sold me on a Samsung that was no longer available to buy, 3rd bought another new Motorola phone for $599 with a $100 rebate on trade in of my phone, the store manager said was approved for trade in, but when I mailed it back they would not accept it (no $100 rebate). They didn't have the Edge that I bought at the store So they had to ship it. However, they will not let you deliver anywhere but your home and they will not Allow you to pick it up at FedEx until FedEx has 3 failed attempts. I could go on.. It truly has been a nightmare and though the employees are pretty helpful their hands are tied. Buyers be ware.
