Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

VERY BAD SERVICE, corporate lies

Went into the local spectrum store to upgrade my wife's phone they screwed my whole account up my service after 7 days went off they wanted $600.00 to reconnect It took me 2 hours to clear this up then when my bill was due they took $700.00 out of my account. I had to close my bank account to get my money back. Call corporate they had rep to call me back gave me a $100.00 credit and was told by rep they we were going to give me the new phone for all my inconvenience. Now they tried to hit my account for both phones I talked to another rep today and was told I had to pay for both phones now, I told him we have never been late on any payment so why would they do that. The reply was cause they don't give phones away. Anyone thinking about going with them needs to do some research first. We have been with them 6 years phone, internet and TV never missed a payment.

Terrible time switching carriers for cell Service

I was told it would be easy to switch from my prior carrier. That was 2 weeks ago. Now they are trying to switch me to a new number because my old number won’t switch and I have spent countless hours on the phone only to have them tell me it’s with the escalation team. The escalation team always says it will be corrected within 72 hours and I never hear anything back. Went to a store to have problem resolved, but they just had me call the 800 number anyways and be on hold for TWO HOURS only to have the representative disconnect the call saying that she couldn’t hear me. Now I have no phone service at all for at least 72 hours so they say. Absolute nightmare. Don’t do it, even if it saves you money.

Customer service sucks also my placed my paymen

They have the worst customer service ever. Misplace two of my payments with internet then tried to tell me I didn't pay them after being on hold for 3 hours seem like one rep turned my phone off and all I called for was to see why my phone wifi button not working I'm still having the wifi issue then they tried to tell me I owe them more money when I already paid this is crazy wish I would've kept at&t or Metro pcs.

The worst costumer service and mobile service

I purchased a Google pixel 7 pro from spectrum it was shipped damaged I called them to replace it they kept transferring me from department to another. Finally after so many tries I had to go to an actual store so they can make the call for me an agent said they gonna send me a replacement and gave me ticket number. It's been one month now they send me nothing. When I call costumer service they put me on hold for hours and hang up eventually without talking to me. I won't recommend spectrum to anyone I really regret that I switched form Verizon

People who say they're getting decent coverage don

I never get past one bar and how can this be fast speed? If I never see full bars

Horrible and trying

It started with me ordering two devices that arrived two days late. I decided to send one of them back due to issues with activating the second device. It's contents and device itself were placed in original container. I used the label sent by email from charter communications/fedex. I was told i would receive my refund within 3-5 business days. Well, two weeks went by and no refund. I called a few times eventually being told it was being processed then graded after providing tracking number. Again, told that i should receive a refund in a few days... I did not see one. At this point it had been over a month and a half, and i no longer had the receipt at that point, but i called back checking on the status of the return to be told that there is no evidence of a returned to device. They could not find that particular email in their system despite being told that it was processed in their warehouse being graded after I had provided tracking number before. i was told that they did not even have the tracking number and nothing could be done. "It's probably lost at this point." i was eventually told. During this time the emails pesisted , "you're being charged for a line that hasn't been activated. Activate now." I was being over charged. 2 months straight still trying to resolve the issue as i text this. I was told just to pay and have everything resolved later a week ago on November 28th. Despite me receiving an email on November 14th saying that they had finally received my device 2 MONTHS after the fact then after that another saying I'm still being charged for unactivated device. Even though they finally acknowledged that they had the device in their possession i was also no longer eligible for a refund due to it being processed after the deadline despite me sending it to them two months prior just days after receiving it... Now a new reason for no refund. After being processed, graded then lost (twice) for almost 3 months they now say a damn sim card tray was missing and that now validates them rejecting my refund. I am now simply trying to pay for my first phone while getting the additional charges for the secondary phone i sent back in September taken off of my account. This month, i just want to discontinue using spectrum mobile as i have been thoroughly disappointed by this company with its runaround and treatment. I do appreciate the representatives who were kind and understanding (i spoke to many) who did their best to help me as best as they could and were upfront with me even though one or two did not have all that great of attitudes, but the good reps cannot makeup for a companies unprofessional almost scammer like attitude. In the end, i just wonder if it was really worth it to screw over a loyal customer for a few hundred dollars??

It is not reliable, no connection since the start.

I've had spectrum mobile for a month an haven't had reliable service since the start. I'm now approaching week two with no Mobil service, unless I have a Wi-Fi connection. I work thirty minutes from home, so if an emergency I'm out of luck. I'm a single mother, if an emergency arises with my daughter I can't guarantee I will receive a call. Same with her sitter if they need to reach out, I can't guarantee I will get the call or message. At this point I've been told I'll get a call back; when my trouble ticket is resolved. That a sim card will be sent to me again. No call back yet, no sim card yet and approaching week 2. Very upsetting, I was with Verizon for over 18 years. I chose end the service because spectrum offered an at home internet service, great deal which I have. And they offered reliable mobile with savings (sounded great at the time). If this isn't resolved soon, I'm switching back to Verizon, as I never had issues with Verizon they are amazing and reliable.

Gave me a free line and still not worth it

Management has to be writing these good reviews. Worst wait times, worst customer service on phone, worst customer service in store. Customer service answer to any conversation is "I can transfer you to the cancellations department". They gave me a free line for a yaer to swithch. I made a month. Coverage terrible and customer service worse. When I signed on they offered us 2 phones for $250/ea. Told rep were 70 and wanted cheaper phones we hardly use. Sent us 2 Google phones. Found out they were $475/ea when I tried to leave them. Had to pay to escape they. All we do is text and call no need for $475 phones. Don't know if it was a mistake by the rep or intentional to drive up commision. Doesn't matter Spectrum customer service just won't help.

Was forced into spectrum on a family plan it sucks

I was carried over when a family plan I was in changed services nothing works right on my cell phone now. I can’t sent or receive texts properly and calls are a coin toss

Activation process is very poor

They tell you it's a very smooth activation transition but if you transferring with your old number you better be prepared to contact your old carrier

Worst service ever.

I cannot even use this service in my own home. I could not call 911 or police for a medical emergency for my husband. 3 fixes from Spectrum and here I am again. I could not call for help when I had a flat and was stranded. Now I cannot even call spectrum to complain about spectrum because it says I am out of the calling area. I am sitting in my living room. It ALWAYS seems to be out of range of the mobile network. I had to help their great tech support who gad to look everything up on Google. Shame on spectrum.

They have no clue what they are doing

To the detriment of the customer, each customer service rep you call gives you a different story. My iPhone 13 was stolen in late October. Since then I have made multiple calls about transferring the old number to the new phone. Each person gives a different story. Can't do it, the iPhone is blacklisted. Can do it, just let me reactivate the phone and send you a sim card. Can't do it, you need to pay off 1/2 of the iPhone and do an early upgrade. Can do it, (this was after they black listed my replacement phone) we'll send you a sim card. Now, again, I call because I have the sim card, but the replacement phone only works when attached to the internet even though data is turned on and I'm told that they again can't transfer my number until the phone is paid off. Another reason. WTF? For the same price as every other mobile provider. I'm cutting this contract asap and moving on.

I have called twice today to get an issue fixed

Still waiting for callback from customer service for new phone activation locked up. I have called twice and scheduled call back with no return calls what so ever. This is the worst service I have ever experienced. New phone bought thru their upgrade offer. Now i have a phone that won’t activate properly and is stuck in “activation in progress” for 2 days now and cannot get customer service to call me back to help. I can only assume they are not calling me back purposely. I have scheduled 2 callback appointments already with no response to either scheduled times. Getting very frustrated with Spectrum.

Do not get this service.

Very difficult to switch over, had to buy their special phone, Calls dropped first day, mobile service cuts off daily, even in my home where I have spectrum internet (slow and shuts off frequently), I've spent weeks on the phone with customer service to no avail. Their only answer is a scripted "This happens because you're holding a small computer in your hands....". Really?! I thought a cell phone was a banana. It's making my work life harder as calls drop and it';s stressful because I can't get in touch with my kids when I'm on the road. HORRIBLE DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE.

Sign up sucks.

I would love to review the network that spectrum runs on, but I didn’t even make it that far. It has been 4.5 days of spectrum “trying” to port over my number from my old carrier. I’ve been calling daily to see where things are and how they’re progressing but it’s the same go around. The agents I talk to today say something different than the ones before but somehow it always becomes “it should be fixed within 24-72 hours”. I honestly don’t think they know what they’re doing and if it didn’t take just as long for them to port my number out I would.

Terrible

Locked me into 2 years contract, refused to unlock my phone for travel. Charged me more on Mobile after I moved to an area they don’t service their internet at. Horrible horrible horrible . They have ruined time Warner cable and made it spectrum. Stay away

Excellent customer service!

Today we went to the Inverness, Florida Spectrum store to change our mobile service to Spectrum and purchase a phone. This was a process we dreaded but walked out of the store happy with smiles on our faces. We worked with Bruce who was terrific! He was knowledgeable, patient, kind, honest and fun to interact with. He was meticulous in making sure everything was switched over correctly, giving us the best deal and making sure we were completely satisfied. He gets an A+ from us. Bruce is a valuable asset to the company and the store! Great customer service!

The price is great

Just changed to Spectrum from AT&T becasue the price for unlimited data is better. Took my phone to the Spectrum store in Spartanburg SC on E Main and was helpled by Mark who transfered all my data and pictures to my new phone. He was very personable and did the transfer with no problem. My customer service experience was great.

Appalling Service and Support

My wife and I, seniors, switched to Spectrum Mobile to try to save money. Within a week, I noticed that my friends weren't responding to my emails. Then my phone started blowing up with two dozen emails from the last five days! Fluke? It happened twice more with me and twice with my wife's phones. The only way we could be sure of getting our emails. was to power off/on our phones. Tech support was useless, telling us to do the same thing. Even worse, after spending hours with them, we asked for a supervisor and the woman argued with us and then hung up! We went to T-Mobile and they have a senior plan that gave us more coverage and reliability at the same cost as Spectrum. Spectrum is no bargain!
