When it comes to MVNOs, such as Simple Mobile, it's easy to agree that they are numerous, making the search for the perfect MVNO difficult for you.
So what about Simple Mobile? While Simple Mobile, a TracFone Wireless-owned prepaid cellular carrier network has a simple-to-use website, the information is a little scattered, making the search for some information difficult.
In this guide, you'll find information regarding the available Simple Mobile cell phone plans, as well as the details on the Simple Mobile coverage and T-Mobile LTE network usage, the customer service, the prepay phones, and more.
Finally, we'll direct you to our cell phone plan comparison tool, so you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you should adopt any of the Simple Mobile cell phone plans.
Simple Mobile Wireless Plans
Simple Mobile is an MVNO, or Mobile Virtual Network Operator (other examples include Straight Talk, Consumer Cellular, TracFone Wireless, and Virgin Mobile), that uses the T-Mobile network to supply its customers with data and coverage. MVNOs tend to be cheaper alternatives to the major carrier networks and typically offer strictly prepay plans.
In this case, Simple Mobile's plans are actually more affordable compared to the T-Mobile plans, the network Simple Mobile runs on.
Each of these prepay plans offers flexibility in that there are no long-term contracts. Additionally, as your cellular needs change, you can adjust your plan to align with them. It's this versatility in service offerings that make Simple Mobile a great option to choose if your budget is tight but you don't want to sacrifice poor cellular reliability.

With each no-contract plan, you receive unlimited voice as well as unlimited text. What makes Simple Mobile unique from other cell phone providers is its international features. If you have friends or relatives living internationally, you have unlimited international calling to mobile phones in over 16 countries including Canada, China, Mexico and more.
Furthermore, you have the ability to call landline phones in over 65 countries for free and you can send unlimited international texts.
Each of Simple Mobile's unlimited talk and text plans come with 30 days of service. The basic plan, should you require no data usage, comes with unlimited talk and text for a low monthly charge. If you want data access, you have multiple plans available including two unlimited choices.
With the "light" option, you receive the first 10 GB of data at 4G LTE speeds. If you exceed this high-speed data limit, it will slow down your LTE speeds to 2G. Meanwhile, if you want truly unlimited data, it does have an unlimited plan where you receive high-speed data with streaming quality at 480p.
The unlimited plan price rivals that of the unlimited plans from the T-Mobile network, as well as Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, and more. If you want to explore the unlimited plans from the four major cell phone providers, such as the Verizon Unlimited plan and the Sprint network unlimited plan, we have a guide available.
Unlike other wireless carriers, there were no unlimited voice and text family plans available from Simple Mobile. On one hand, it's beneficial in that you don't have to share a group data allowance. On the other hand, you'll pay more than you would relative to sharing a family plan per line. If you need multiple lines for your family, consider a family cell phone plan instead.
Simple Mobile Features & Services
Simple Mobile also offers an upgrade benefit. This is where you sign up for its phone upgrade plan where you accrue points. Once you reach 18 points, (you earn one point per paid month of service), you earn a discount on a new phone. To demonstrate, you can save $300 off the iPhone 7S with the Simple Upgrade Plan once you have 18 points.
If you plan to change phones regularly, it makes sense to sign up for this plan, as it rewards you for something you were going to do.
This plan includes unlimited text and talk. In addition, you receive free international texting, 100 minutes of international calling and 2GB of 4G LTE data. If you exceed this limit, you still have data access but at 2G speeds.
Simple Mobile has a wireless broadband plan available too. With this plan, you get 1.5 GB of 4G LTE data so you can use your smartphone, laptops, tablets and other devices remotely. When or if you require more data you can increase your allowance through the ReUP feature.
Speaking of ReUp, it's a feature Simple Mobile offers on your account. With auto ReUp, you can enter your credit or debit card number and have Simple Mobile charge it each month when it's time to purchase the next month's service.
If you want add-ons like more data, you can have the wireless carrier charge your card at the time of the request. In addition, by signing up for automatic payments, you receive discounts on certain monthly plans including the unlimited data ones.
What Phones Can I Get With Simple Mobile?
Simple Mobile runs on T-Mobile's network. This means if you have a T-Mobile phone or an unlocked GSM phone-typically found through T-Mobile and AT&T--you can switch your service without the need of buying a phone. Instead, you can just rely on your AT&T or T-Mobile phone.
However, if this doesn't apply to you, then you can buy a phone through Simple Mobile or its large network of retailers. Do note that if you're looking to purchase a cell phone from the Simple Mobile service, you'll need to input your zip code. Simple Mobile will then let you know what phones are best for your zip code.
It carries a huge selection of the newest phones such as the iPhone 7S, the Google Pixel, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Should you elect to do one of these phones, you can pay in full or make 24 monthly installments through SmartPay.
Simple Mobile carries less expensive phones too. If you want a reliable phone and don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars upfront, there are 12 phones for sale for under $75.

You can activate your phone in two ways. One, you can call the customer service phone number at 1-877-878-7908 or you can visit www.Simplemobile.com/activate to do this online.
As stated previously, Simple Mobile goes through T-Mobile's network. This means if you have an unlocked GSM phone, all you need is the SIM kit to transfer service. We have a guide that will help you through the process of unlocking your phone if your phone isn't unlocked. If you buy a phone, it comes with a SIM card installed.
