CuraDebt Reviews

If you are looking for debt consolidation and your debt is the kind that they are good at handling, then you will likely be happy with this company. Their pricing structure makes sense and the provider won't charge you until after the job is done. Further, the additional tools they offer, most especially the services to help stop debt collectors from contacting you, can do a lot to alleviate the stress associated with being in debt. While their scope is limited, National Debt Relief is excellent at what they do.

Curadebt is a BBB A+ rated organization that offers consumers the ability to resolve issues related to debt related to credit cards, medical bills, and other forms of unsecured debt. It has been in business since 2000 and has staff members who are specialists in their field; for instance, if a consumer is struggling with tax debts then they can work with former United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees to resolve any outstanding tax debts. Like most debt consolidation and settlement companies, it offers a number of tools for potential consumers, including a free savings estimate feature as to how much a potential customer could save and a free consultation with a debt counselor to discuss a potential customer's own particular situation. Users of Curadebt's in house programs also pay no monthly fees. It is a very strong choice for those who are struggling with financial problems related to unsecured debts, but is not the provider of choice for those struggling with secured debts like mortgages.

Curadebt's long history of working with borrowers is a strong positive for their customers Curadebt has been providing its services since 2000, enabling clients to benefit from its experience and expertise. Curadebt's website advises that the organization has counselled over hundreds of thousands of people since 2000. It also notes, correctly, that Curadebt is one of the oldest industry participants, which is a benefit because they have seen both boom and bust economic/market conditions and the associated financial and debt problems that can arise for consumers duringall points of the economic cycle.

A Reputable Company

Curadebt has received industry recognition unmatched by most of the rest of the debt consolidation industry and is a member of a number of well-regarded industry groups.

To its credit, CuraDebt has been rated as the #1 rated debt relief company by TopConsumerReviews.com for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 and tied for #1 in 2014. It has also received positive feedback from a number of other sources. It is also a member of a number of industry organizations like the American Fair Credit Council, which is a commitment on its part to adhere to the membership requirements of that organization.

Available Services

Curadebt offers some services, tax debt and medical bill-related services in particular, unmatched by many other players in the industry.

Many debt consolidation companies focus on assisting borrowers who are struggling to repay credit card debt. However, Curadebt is unique in that it works with borrowers who are struggling with just about any type of unsecured debt, from credit card debt to medical bills to tax debts. Very few other industry players offers these latter two types of services. Indeed, Curadebt's staff includes former IRS employees, which is not something that is typical with most debt consolidation companies. They also offer access to a nationwide pool of attorneys, which many competitors do not offer.

Website Advantages

Curadebt's website contains very extensive information in a depth and breadth not equaled by many of its competitors, so it is an excellent resource for educating potential consumers before they have even decided whether they need Curadebt or its services.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Curadebt's website (although its website does have its drawbacks, see discussion below). For instance, there is very extensive discussion of the various types of bankruptcies available to consumer (i.e. Chapter 7 vs. Chapter 13) and the related process for each different type of bankruptcy, whereas many of Curadebt's competitors' websites barely even mention bankruptcy. This is just an example of a website that is very rich in detail on many salient topics for potential customers of Curadebt or any other debt consolidation company.

Website Drawbacks

One of the biggest negatives associated with Curadebt's website as compared with its competitors' websites is that to even enter the Curadebt website involves a popup window that asks the visitor to enter information about your debts to even be able to access the organization's website. It is still possible to access the website without going through this step, but this can be a major turn-off to the potential Curadebt customer who may be just casually doing research on different debt consolidation companies but does not want to necessarily provide any personal information in the course of doing their research.

Another downside to the services offered by Curadebt is that this does not offer assistance for financial problems related to housing debts or mortgages or any other type of secured loans.

Unlike some of its competitors, however, Curadebt does not offer assistance with problems with housing debt or mortgages or other types of secured debt. Housing debt or problems associated with housing debt often have been a source of financial problems just as much, if not more, than credit cards, auto loans, or other forms of secured debt since the 2008 financial crisis. Many individuals who could potentially qualify for Curadebt's services with respect to their unsecured debts like medical bills and credit card debt might then have to use a different debt consolidation to solve the entirety of their financial problems. This can make such competitors a one stop shop for all of your financial needs, as persons in need of credit or debt counseling often need help across all aspects of their financial lives that Curadebt cannot provide. This is a significant downside to Curadebt's service.

Verdict - Good

Curadebt is a solid option for borrowers who may be struggling to repay their debts. They are a particularly attractive option for borrowers who may be struggling to pay back unsecured debt like medical bills and tax debts in addition to credit card debt. Although their website does offer more of a "hard sell" of their services than the websites of some of their competitors, it is an excellent resource for the potential customer who just needs more information about many topics related to debt consolidation, such as the different types of bankruptcies available to consumers.

In total, Curadebt does offer a valuable service that may be the right fit for you depending on what kinds of debts and financial problems you are currently struggling to manage, particularly if your problems are tax debts or medical bills, neither of which many other debt consolidation companies can assist you with.
