United Healthcare Health Insurance

United HealthCare's biggest claim is that it makes things simpler for its clients. This is a big claim, and United HealthCare is doing everything it can to live up to it. Created in 1977, United HealthCare now has nearly 70 million clients, though many of them are clients through its subsidiaries. One thing that makes the company stands out is its technology. United HealthCare strives to keep communication quick, in real-time and as paper-free as possible. While this is always an uphill battle, especially in health care, it's helped the company improve its bottom line and prices lower, all while providing superior service.

Customer Service

While every major player has a website, phone numbers and email address, along with chat options, not every player is as tech-savvy as United HealthCare. One thing that United HealthCare has above most companies is the application it has for its clients. Health4Me is currently available on Apple's iPhone. With the provided application, one can find the answers they need. Whether looking for a physician, estimate health and drug costs or check the status of a prescription, the Health4Me app is a great tool to have. Since it's free, this is a no-brainer for anyone who has United HealthCare as its provider. Reviews for the Health4Me app are stellar as most people find it intuitive and easy to use, and anyone who uses United HealthCare should check out the free and easy to use app.

However, not everyone wants to log into an application or don't have an iPhone. There is certainly plenty of customer service on the website. By going to the United HealthCare website, one can look up benefits, find a doctor, manage claims or prescriptions or print an ID card. With so much available on the site, a user will never struggle to get anything done. By going to the contact us page, one can get phone numbers for customer service. One thing that United HealthCare does more than others is monitor its social media accounts. In this day and age, one can now post on Twitter or Facebook to get answers. The accounts are monitored regularly, and one can get answers to just about anything on weekends or at night. With that being said, to take care of time-sensitive matters or matters that require security, one should use email or, better yet, call the company.

Getting a quote

When it comes time to get a quote, a lot of companies make you call in and talk to a representative. Other companies have intuitive sites, but it's often hard to get a straight answer, and even worse, some customer service representatives will try to up-sell to clients. This leaves people frustrated and doesn't answer their questions all the time. But, with United HealthCare, one can not only get their answers questioned online, but they can apply for insurance, and it's easy to get a quick response.

To apply for insurance, one only has to go to the front page and enter their age and zip code. From here, the user will have to provide the birthdays of anyone else they want to insure. Once done, a website user only has to click "view plans". After viewing the options available, one will only have to select the plan that best fits their needs. At any point during the process, if a client is stuck, he or she can call the 800 number listed on the top of the page. Though, the application is easy to fill out and understand, and United HealthCare goes out of its way to explain every health plan.

After applying, a user will not get an instant response, and this is common with most health insurance providers. But, if all the information is accurate and up-to-date, the applicant will receive a response within a few days to a week. There is even language assistance for those who don't feel comfortable dealing with pertinent health insurance issues in English.

While the website is easy to use and it's easy to get a quote for a policy, there are more benefits to using United HealthCare. After logging on, it's easy to do just about anything on the site. Once logged in, a person can access his or her claims and prescriptions, as well as contact a doctor or even pay the premium. This can cut down on phone calls, and it can also cut down on doctor's visits if a person has their questions answered quickly.

It's in United HealthCare's best interest to make sure that its customers are happy and healthy. The site is intuitive, there are plenty of options, and United HealthCare provides people with healthy living ideas. It's a great insurance company, but it lacks a little customer service as email response times are slow, and there is no chat option. Getting a quote could be faster, and there are not as many options as other companies offer to its clients.

What stands out with United HealthCare, users get plenty of support and can even learn how to live healthier lives. Customer service is top-notch, though there are no chat options, which makes it harder to get quick assistance. Getting a quote is easy, and anyone looking to sign up can get a plan with ease. Without a doubt, when looking for a solid plan, one should seriously consider United HealthCare as the products are great and the customer service is decent enough as United HealthCare provides almost everything one needs in an insurance company.

The worst health care company out there. Donít believe anything they say and the customer service is non existence, they never phone you back and cannot answer any questions.

A terrible company, I donít know how they are allowed to sell health insurance. Iíve had to pay for my medication and when I was on the phone to them they left me on hold for over an hour before just cutting off the call. The customer service does not exist and why bother paying them for insurance cover when Iím paying for it out of my own pocket.
