FiOS Double Play

Since many people have varied needs, having access to multiple packages is a good way to find what you need without the concern of overpaying for items you don't require. In this manner, Verizon FiOS delivers by offering a variety of Double Play packages for their Digital Voice phone plans, Internet, and cable:

Internet and Cable Bundles

A popular offering, this bundling includes three different options depending on your viewing habits. The first option is the least expensive, as you receive FiOS TV services with access to over 15 channels, five of which are in HD. What's more, you get FiOS 50/50 Mbps fiber optics internet services with which you can download a two-hour movie in as little as 13.7 minutes.

Option 2 includes the same download and upload speeds and Internet services you would receive with option 1 but with more cable channels included. In this grouping, you receive FiOS Custom TV. This is where you gain access to a baseline of channels then get to choose other channels packs for items such as news, sports, or entertainment.

Option 3 is the most comprehensive of all Verizon's Double Play plans. In addition to having access to Verizon's fiber optic network with the same upload and download speeds of 50 Mbps fiber optics, you also receive FiOS TV Preferred HD. With this, you have access to over 255 channels with more than 80 of them being in HD. It's a great Internet and cable deal.

No matter which of the three options you select, Verizon provides you with low promotional pricing for the first year of service. Furthermore, there are no annual one or two-year contracts required for these plans, giving you the option to cancel at any time without fear of incurring early termination fees. Internet and Home Phones Bundle

If you want to pair Verizon's internet with home phone service you also have three options available. The first choice comes with high-speed internet service with download and upload speeds as quick as 50 Mbps. Keep in mind Verizon is the only internet provider who offers the same upload and download speeds, resulting in you being able to share content as fast as you access it.

Moreover, you also receive its home phone service. With this, you have unlimited calling all across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

The only difference in each option concerns the internet speed you want. To illustrate, in Option 2 you have access to the FiOS 100/100 Mbps internet while in Option 3 you receive the FiOS 150/150 Mbps internet. Each of these options includes promotional pricing until your first year is up without the need for one or two-year contracts. Triple Play Bundle

If you require all three services, Verizon has multiple bundles available for you, which include home phone service, FiOS TV, and FiOS internet packages. Here are their best deals for an affordable price.

Internet, TV, and Home Phone Bundle

The first Triple Play Bundle includes the Verizon FiOS Internet with 150/150 Mbps symmetrical download and upload speed. With it, you can download a two-hour movie in as little as in 4.6 minutes. Meanwhile, you also receive home phone service with unlimited calling in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Where the plans differ is in their TV offerings.

  • Option 1: You receive the FiOS Custom TV package. With it, you have access to a baseline of popular channels while also having the ability to customize your TV package to your needs through the addition of channel packs. You also have the option to decline the channel packs to save money.
  • Option 2: You lose the ability to customize your TV plan. Instead, you receive the FiOS TV Preferred HD packages, where you'll have access to over 255 channels with more than 80 of them in HD.
  • Option 3: Verizon's Ultimate HD Entertainment experience offers a Fios Gigabit Connection (Up to 940 Mbps download and 880 Mbps upload), home phone service, and TV and movie channels including NFL Network, FXX, BBC, SHOWTIME®, CINEMAX®, and NFL RedZone. The Ultimate HD bundle may be your best bet for all of your Internet, phone and TV needs at a low price of about $125 per month.
  • Option 4: Your best bet for an ample variety of entertainment options. In this grouping, you get the FiOS TV Extreme HD with over 330 channels available.

No matter which package you choose, you'll receive promotional pricing. How this works is you'll pay the advertised rate, plus taxes, fees, and equipment charges for the first year. Then, in your second year of service, you'll witness a slight increase in your bill. However, to take advantage of the low rates for both years you'll have to complete a two-year service agreement.

At the same time, if you don't mind the commitment, you receive several benefits. In addition to not having to worry about your bill spiking in the second year, you also receive cash back, depending on the promotion, in the way of a prepaid debit card.

Keep in mind, you also can get Verizon FiOS Digital Voice services with an unlimited plan or per minute if you bundle it with TV and Verizon's fiber optic network providing high-speed Internet.

Coming Soon: Verizon TV Streaming Service

Verizon FiOS is also coming out with a streaming service this summer, according to CNBC. The service will aim to compete with streaming services like DIRECTV Now and Dish Network's Sling TV. DIRECTV Now and Sling TV offer channel bundles to meet every customer's TV and movie wants and needs.

Dish Network's Sling TV currently makes you pay for premium channels like HBO and Starz while DIRECTV Now lets you bundle HBO for free (CNBC). Verizon's streaming service is expected to cost around the same price with similar features.
