CDMA plans FAQs
What is the cheapest CDMA cell phone plan?
MVNOs like US Mobile offer the cheapest cell phone plans, with prices starting at just $10 per month. You could save up to $600 per year from your phone bill.
What is the difference between GSM and CDMA carriers?
T-Mobile and AT&T use GSM and Verizon uses the CDMA network. Both CDMA and GSM are similar technologies and fill in the gap when 4G is not available, however, CDMA is mainly used in the US.
Recap
CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is one of two technologies, along with GSM, that help fills in the gap when there's no 4G available.
Verizon is the only network that uses CDMA since Sprint was bought out by T-Mobile, and they will be shutting down their CDMA network in December 2022. Most CDMA phones now work with GSM plans due to the 4G LTE technology.
Verizon MVNOs offer cheap CDMA plans, with access to the same nationwide Verizon coverage, but at half price.
If you're looking to bring your own phone you'll need to check if it's a CDMA-compatible phone which you can easily do with our IMEI checker.
