LG K20 V Review: Key Features

Last Updated:

The LG K20 V might be marketed as a low budget smartphone, but it certainly packages a number of interesting and powerful features found more commonly on higher end models. Exclusive to Verizon with a prepaid deal, the LG K20 is a solid, versatile cell phone that can handle a number of different tasks without experiencing any stutters, hiccups, or glitches. Running a near-stock version of Android's Nougat software, the device delivers smooth, seamless performance that makes this phone a fantastic, inexpensive, travel companion.

Let's do a quick rundown on the device right out of the box.

The LG K20 V bears a 5.3" 1280x720 display with a slim profile that fits nicely in your hand and in your pocket. There are 16GBs of internal storage with room for up to 256GB on a microSD card. Technically, the storage has a 2TB capacity, but there are no SD cards of that size currently on the market. The removable, 2800mAH battery has an impressive usage time of up to 32 hours.

There are also 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras included that are of reasonable quality for such a low price tag but won't blow you away compared to more expensive models like the Samsung Galaxy 8 or even the LG Stylo 2. Interestingly enough, the selfie camera has a built-in selfie light, which isn't seen on most other cell phones.

Flaunting a sleek, comfortable design in a fancy metallic housing, the LG K20 has an otherwise unassuming exterior. Besides the bronze notes, the phone won't stand out amongst any other from a distance. There is a mix of colors, textures, and materials that attempt to make the LG K20 have some personality, but it doesn't really succeed.

There is also a fingerprint sensor that you'll find at the back of the device, for that extra layer of security. The phone is also lighter than most of its counterparts but trades that weight in for a thicker build. However, the parts are tightly assembled--the phone won't feel flimsy in your hand.

A noticeable downside of the LG K20 V is that it is not water resistant or built ruggedly to withstand drops. Keep your phone safe with a case.
