Unexpected prices on my bill every month
I had Cox Cable and internet and Cox home life for several months and I didn't have any problems with the service. It was the billing that I got screwed on. They started charging me twice a month. I live on a fixed income and and I can't afford to pay over $500 a month for something that wasn't supposed to be more than $125 a month. So I let it go and told them to come get there equipment and then I had to fight with customer service to get them to adjust the bill after wards which never happened. So I never got it fixed and now I'm playing catch-up on my other bills thanks to them....
You cannot go back to the Promotional Rate!
I signed up for Cox's "Promotional Rate" of $59.95 per month. When the installer came, he said there was a "Data Cap" so I should upgrade to the Unlimited Plan of $89.95 per month. Then find out how much data I use. After I find out I didn't use very much data I wanted to switch back to the $59.95 per month plan. Cox says I cannot switch back because it was "Promotional"! Shame on you Cox. Bait and Switch. Buyer beware!
Came out 3 times and failed to resolve issues!
3 visits and no resolution; 4th visit tomorrow! first person checked connections and said it must be a pole problem said they would report it and someone should be out in the next 2 days; no one came out, still not working! 2nd visit the guys said he knows nothing about Tivo...but, we have had it for years now and is working! 3rd visit was a NO-SHOW! now 4th visit is tomorrow! (BAD service)
Unreliable internet connection
The internet connection drops out multiple times per hour, requiring multiple router restarts daily. The wifi simply does not work at 2.4 GHz. I had these problems from day one, and have replaced the router once already. The tech support, while quick to come, just has no idea how to fix it. It is good that I can still cancel and switch to Verizon.
Price, reruns & the regional sports surcharge
I refuse to pay $142 a month for cable & internet. I'm sick of the hidden fees & the prices going up all the time. Not worth it.
Cox have really improved over the years and over the last year I am really happy with the service from them. I have the full package and no issues with internet the speed is great and the TV service is fantastic.
I got an unexpected charge on my bill one month, so I called customer support and they apolgised for the mistake and removed it immediately.
I've found my cox internet plan to be dependable and although it is not as advanced as other providers it is a much better price.
Installation was done quickly and professionally and all connected to each room perfectly, not like my previous provider who had to keep coming back.
Technicians and support
The technicians that work for Cox are the best. They know exactly what they are doing and tech support reps are great if you need any step by step advice.
