Samsung has created a monster in 2017 with the Samsung Galaxy S8, and if you're considering a used Galaxy S8, then it is doubtful that you'll find yourself disappointed. With a beautiful display, massive power, and an impressive camera, you'll be hard-pressed to find a more gorgeous handset. That said, there are some flaws that are not to be overlooked.
Before continuing further with the review, it's important to note that if you do plan on buying a used Samsung Galaxy S8, the phone will likely be unlocked. With an unlocked phone, you'll be able to take it to whatever carrier that supports the phone, as long as you have the required SIM card.

With that being said, the phone may be locked at the time of purchase, so you may have to unlock the phone yourself. If you'd like to learn more about unlocking your smartphone, you should read, "How to Unlock Your Phone & Use it With a New Carrier."

So first, the flaws. While the Samsung Galaxy S8 is more secure, biometric unlocking is also more annoying. You can unlock the phone with your face, fingerprint, or even iris, but the fingerprint scanner has been shifted to the back, and it has become more difficult for the phone to register your fingerprint.
Secondly, Bixby is a bit of a mess. Bixby, the rival assistant to Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, doesn't support many third-party apps and fails to understand speakers well. You're better off with Google Assistant.
However, those are the two major flaws of the system.
In terms of design, it's absolutely breathtaking. The glass is curved on all sides, giving it a glossy and rounded appearance. The metal rim blends well into the glass, and the handset itself is quite thin - it feels amazing, and it's only a shame that it should be covered in a case, as it is a little fragile. However, the "lower" volume button can be quite often confused for the Bixby button, which sits right below the volume button.
What is also welcome to the design is the expandable storage, but the S8 has 64GB of onboard storage to the begin with, so it will be long before you run out of memory.
Admittedly, the Samsung Galaxy S8 screen is - hands down - amazing, sporting 2960x1440 resolution at 571PPI. The colors are rich and the details are sharp and vivid. However, since the Galaxy S8 stands at a whopping 5.8 inches, it can be deemed a little tall for some. Better yet, the S8 is certified as HDR-compatible.
Performance-wise, the S8 relies on either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 chipset and 4GB of RAM. While it's not the fastest processor in the world - it is still incredibly powerful. You won't have a laggy experience with the S8.
And what of the battery? While the battery pack stands at 3000mAh, it tends to struggle underneath heavy usage. However, it should easily last a day with regular usage, and if not, there are various power saving modes to take advantage of. Furthermore, the fast wireless charging works well with the S8.
Finally, the camera is not a feature to scoff at. The rear camera is 12MP, but the front camera is an improved 8MP. Furthermore, photo-taking is brilliant in low-light settings.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is an impressive phone, and while it is expensive, even when used, it is well worth your dollar.
It is recommended that you check online for the best prices on the Samsung Galaxy S8. Online, you'll find S8 models for sale at a cheaper price online compared to what you'd find at physical retailers. However, it's important to compare the prices of refurbished and unlocked S8 models from the top resellers to ensure you'll receive the best price.
