AT&T customer service ratings

It's bee

It's been hell dealing with At&t I wish I had known. Signed up for a family deal. They told me I would get the phones in a week. Then they sent an email saying it will take a month to get the phone. I decided to go to their store and they sighed me up for another with a promise to close the first contract. Now am getting collection bills from At&t while paying my bills. They said they would fix it but No. I am really disappointed. I wish I knew big names don't mean good service 😪.

Worst connection ever!!

We’ve been customers for yrs. and have everything w/AT&T. It’s been over a yr that we’ve had problems with cable. Equipment has been changed twice.. we have to re-booth entire system everyday. Been through entire process w/customer service many many times! What’s worst is, it takes roughly 30 minutes on the phone to get connected to the right department. Very frustrating !!

Afyer

After 21 years of.loyalty, AT&T was inflexible in plans and phones. Switched to Verizon

Always get the run around

AT&T should have helped me file for a warranty. My phone has always been under a year old and they have never offered this. They have only told me to file a claim under their insurance. I haven't had any physical damage so no reason why the warranty wouldnt be valid. When I do file a claim, there's always a hassle.

AT&T service is pathetic

I was with them years ago and had the latest phones but couldn't group text. They never resolved thd issue. I came back after Sprint changed for the worse and the newest phones on the market still have texting and group texting issues? Why? Also. Brought over 4 lines under trade in promotion. Got credit for 2 but they lost the other 2 phones? Not only that but it is up to me to prove I traded them in!!! Months of calls and it comes down to... sorry not our problem. Bottom line: DO NOT SWITCH TO AT&T UNLESS YOU WANT HEADACHES AND POOR SERVICE!

Customer Service for New Accounts

I became a new customer/account after having a family account for 5 years, however, everytime I tried to speak with customer service in trying to find out how much my bill would be monthly, I received several quotes on the phone bill, one would say $175, another $165, then I received a bill for over $300 telling me that the trade-ins for my new phones were no good, THOSE PHONES WERE PERFECT WHEN SENT, no scratches, no cracks, no nothing and we received NOTHING for them on our new phones. Now I am stuck with a full payment on two phones AND a two year contract I never wanted and a phone bill of over $220 a month. I sent the phones back in the package provided to me from AT&T, and all customer service could/would do was there is nothing that I can do for you, round and round for three months now and I am stuck with a high bill, of which I was trying to avoid.

They increase the bill and force you to pay

AT&T without any prior warning increased the Bill (Internet + TV). Called AT&T and asked them why you breached the contract, 6 months short from the expiration date. They said we have the right to increase the bill in an active contract, but you have no right to terminate the contract without paying the early termination fee. After calling the bill increased more. Are there rules? There are no rules. Looks like we have infinitely loarge freedom, but infinitely small rights if not able to hire a good lawyer. Lesson learned. First – never use Auto-Pay to avoid duplicate, or fraudulent billing for fabricated fees, during the service and after canceling the service. Second – Avoid the landline phone from the bundle. Using magic jack I pay only $3 a month compared with $40 a month with AT&T. Using a good noise filter, with a 3 ft short phone line for the main phone set, connected with 3 wireless phones around my home I have a better sound quality than with AT&T. Third – If you are not far from TV broadcasting antenna, use an indoor antenna. I am able to receive 52 crisp channels with an indoor antenna. Forth – With chromacast and a designated $100 laptop, you can stream more than with AT&T.

Dying to get out

After so many years I’m paying too much and it’s to the point I’m willing to walk away from Att

Customer service and phone system

Email I wrote to CEO: I have been a ATT U-Verse customer for over 10 years. I had a technical issue and a repair person came to fix it. Along with rage repair person, a sales person tagged along. Stupidly I switched to DirectTV and moved my wireless from Verizon. I hated DirectTV and switched back. I sent equipment back, had to pay to have satellite removed but it’s done. I switched back to Verizon in your 2 week buyers remorse. I sent phone back with all paperwork. Now I’m being billed for $1,063. I have proof from UPS that phone was delivered to your ATT Return Center in San Antonio. I spoke to a supervisor, JC, in your Austin office Monday 9/3/19. She also confirmed phone was received. Where the phone is I have no idea. She assured me the charge would be reversed in a couple days. But today is the 6th and charge is still showing. I am not going to pay this. And I want it removed immediately. It is due 9/19 and if it is not removed and you start collections, there will be big trouble. If you ruin my credit over something that is clearly your fault I am going to be livid. I have literally spent hours on the phone trying to get someone to help. Your employees state they will call back - they never do. They advise if call drops they will call back - they never do. Every time I call I have to go through the entire story again and at this point I am beyond angry. Your customer service and phone service is incredibly frustrating. And the recording of the man with the fake typing is aggravating at best. I want some one to help me. I want the charge reversed. I called tonight. Person was getting a supervisor - call dropped - no call back. I called back, demanded to speak to a supervisor. Was on phone, she took my cell number, and was helping. She put me on hold, call dropped - no call back. This was Gabby in your El Paso office. This was another 30-45 minutes wasted on my Friday night. Is this acceptable to you? I’ll bet if you were the one calling it would be different. I am at my wits end - I don’t know what else to do.

In home sales rep lied and took my phones

an in home sales rep names Joel Siam came to my home convinced me to switch my cell service to ATT in order to bundle with Direct TV. I had 3 brand new IPHONE XP'S that I just got a month prior with another carrier. Joel look at my cell phone account to see how much I would owe if I switched and he assured me he would cover all three phones and I would have money left over. He said it wasn't a rebate there was nothing I needed to do they would just sent me a visa card in the mail in two weeks which would allow me to pay off the phones. two weeks past and nothing. I called ATT and they are only giving me 250 for each phone. WHAT??? I now owe 2600.00 for the cell phones they took from me and promised to pay for. I asked ATT to give me my phones back and they said no. Who in their right mind would give 3 brand new IPHONE XR's to receive 250 in return???? I have called to get the issue resolved but to no avail. I am now stuck with a 2600.00 bill and I'm buying the same phones all over again through ATT and ATT has my brand new phones. It's horrible PLEASE PLEASE do not go with AT&T

No help from customer support

I NEVER use my data. So imagine my surprise when last month on the day my new billing cycle started I used ALL of my data GB with my phone number being the culprit. I had not used my phone at all that day nor had I left my house. In fact they charged me three times in one day saying I kept going over my GB over and over. They advised me to just turn off my data which in turned blocked me from receiving or sending text messages if I was not at home. That didn't help!!!

Everything's great

Over 10 years of being a happy customer with no problem that wasn't easily fixed.

Should have went back to Sprint

When I called to cancel my account because Sprint was offering a better deal, the AT&T representative promised to lower my bill and offered to almost beat Sprint's deal. When I went online to confirm the deal he offered I found out it was over $40 more!

No help from customer support

I'm very angry. My phone out of my whole family's is the only one without data or service. Tried calling customer service and they didn't help or explain the problem to me at all, just kept asking me to buy a plan with more data. AT&T honestly sucks

Better quality than the competitors

I've had AT&T for years now and have never had a problem

Very unsatisfied with their service

I was with AT&T for 12 years but got married and honored my husband's request to change to Verizon because he and his company were on that network. I had a phone that I had when I was with AT&T that I need to give to my brother to use while he is taking care of my Dad who had a stroke. I have followed AT&T instructions and went online 5 times to put request for them to unlock my phone from their network so that I could help my brother. I have spoken with the company supervisors and the company Manager and they have yet to unlock me from their network. I changed to another company 18 months ago and think this is totally ridiculous.

Dependable cell phone service

Overall, AT&T is better than other carriers I've had in the past - the app is easy to use, the bill is easy to read, and the service is fairly reliable but seems to slow down or drop calls when I need it most.

Customer service was an abolsute mess

We switched from T-Mobile to AT&T almost a yr ago and it was the worst mistake! Not only are iPhones incomparable to androids but the customer service is an absolute mess.

Pay a lot for good service

The pricing for the plan we're on is acceptable, but I hate their Next plan for an "upgrade" - either pay monthly installments, or pay for a new phone in full. I've had worse experiences with other carriers in the past though, so it could be worse

Reliable coverage

Service is pretty reliable for the most part, but they make changes (like throttling data) without notice. Customer service is polite.
