This carrier offers 4G LTE high-speed data, bringing broadband speeds to your phone. At the time of writing, FreeUp does not support the use of 5G but it's something they're working on and hope to have up and running by the end of 2021.
FreeUP Mobile have a range of data plans. Keep in mind most of us only use 3-5GB of data a month. Use our data calculator to figure out how much you use and find a set-data plan to suit your needs.
If you run out of your set-data amount, your phone will still work but it'll run a lot slower. You can buy more data through FreeUp, but it won't roll over into the next month.

Don't want to spend money on a new phone? Bring your own phone to FreeUP Mobile. You'll need an AT&T or GSM device. Use our IMEI checker to see which carriers your cell phone is compatible with.
You can call up to 150 countries depending on your plan type. Be aware you can only call up to 15 individual international numbers per month. There's no international roaming at this time, but you can make WiFi calls through the FreeUP Mobile App.
With FreeUP Mobile you can make use of VoLTE technology. This means you can expect high-quality, clear voice calls where VoLTE is available.

Switching to FreeUp Mobile
Switching is seamless. You can do it in three simple steps.
- Choose a plan. Buying three months at a time will save you more.
- Prepare to make the switch. Pay old bills and make sure your phone is unlocked.
- Set up your new plan. Keep your current carrier account open. Once your number has ported over and your new plan is up and running, cancel your old one. If you're bringing your own phone, you'll need to follow the instructions delivered in the post with your FreeUP Mobile SIM card.

Is FreeUP Mobile really free?
Not anymore. FreeUP Mobile used to offer a free plan, but in 2019 they moved to low cost prepaid plans.
How can I get a free phone plan?
Unfortunately, FreeUp Mobile doesn't offer a free plan anymore. But you can get a free low-data plan with FreedomPop. If you're on a low income you may qualify for a free government cell phone.
