Page Plus Review

Last Updated:

MVNOs, such as Page Plus, are many in number, making the search for the perfect one difficult for you. Additionally, the sites of several MVNOs (such as Straight Talk and Boost Mobile) feature plenty of information, but are often scattered among different web pages and - sometimes - different websites.

We understand the trouble of searching through pages upon pages of information, so we've gone ahead, analyzed the details, and compiled the Page Plus information into a readable article that will hopefully satiate your curiosity.

COMPARE NOW: Page Plus Cell Phone Plans

Inside this guide, you'll find the facts on the available Page Plus cell phone plans, including the monthly plans, LTE SIM card information, as well as the prepay phones, customer service, nationwide coverage, and more.

Finally, we'll direct you to our cell phone plan comparison tool, which will hopefully help you make an informed decision as to whether or not page Plus cell phone plans are right for you.

Page Plus Wireless Plans

Page Plus has prepaid plans for all uses and budget types, though unfortunately, it's one of the MVNOs that does not carry an unlimited data plan. Instead, you can have the option of unlimited talk and text with the LTE service, like the major carriers Verizon Wireless, Sprint network, T-Mobile network, and AT&T Wireless.

If you want a basic offering for emergency or sparse use, then you can choose plans based on the number of minutes you plan to chat. This gives you versatility in that you pay for the features you want. Best of all, if you need to adjust plans you can do so at any time.

If you have a smartphone and want access to data, Page Plus has four prepaid plans available to you, though the cheapest plans are at a very affordable price.

What kind of affordable prices am I talking about? Well, the first plan is available for purchase at less than $20, I'll just say that. Each plan features unlimited talk and text. Furthermore, depending on the prepay plan you choose, you'll have access to a specified amount of data. In the event you exceed the data allowance, Page Plus will slow your connection speeds down from the 4G LTE service to 2G.

At these lower speeds, you might notice a difference in performance as it pertains to streaming music, video and more. You do have the option of renewing your plan early and paying the overage rate to access your 4G LTE speeds once more.

However, there's no carryover data. This means if you pay for the prepay plan with 10GB of 4G LTE data allowance and only use half of it, the remaining balance won't carryover to the next month. Therefore, it's important to monitor data usage monthly and make adjustments as needed. Currently, Page Plus doesn't offer an unlimited data plan.

The Annual Plan

The carrier also offers an annual plan. For a fixed price, you have access to 2,000 voice minutes. This is great in that you don't have to remember to pay monthly to maintain cell phone service, making it a great option if you plan to use your phone occasionally. However,

Page Plus doesn't make it easy to buy this plan. Instead of having an option to buy online, you must visit its website then find a retail partner who sells the annual cellular service card.

After reviewing its website, I didn't find where it offers family plans. This makes Page Plus a less cost-effective option if your plan was to do a family share plan with data, where the cost per line would be less relative to doing one line of cell phone service.

Page Plus does offer international cellular service in the form of international calling - in fact, you can compare Page Plus' options with the cheap international calling options available elsewhere. You can buy the $9 global calling card. With the card, you receive rates as low as 2.5 cents per minute when you call landline or mobile phones internationally. What's beneficial about this option is you can add it to your plan and the balance rolls over as long as you keep it active.

Phones Offered By Page Plus

Page Plus' huge smartphone inventory includes some of the latest models from Apple, Samsung, and Google. If you choose to buy a more expensive model, you can pay in full or do leasing through SmartPay. This is where if you qualify, you pay the phone off in 24 monthly installments. Monthly installments, after all, are a more viable route to take compared to paying it off in full.

Meanwhile, you can choose less expensive alternatives as well. Page Plus has a good selection of phones for under $50. It also offers discounts on select models we'll get into later in this review.

Phone Insurance

Similar to other prepaid wireless services, Page Plus doesn't offer cell phone insurance as part of its monthly plan offerings. Should you want this coverage you can go to a cell phone insurance provider to receive it.

Phone Activation

When you are ready to start service you can do so by several means. First, you can visit its website to activate service. When you do this, you have your choice to activate with a new phone number or to keep your current phone number.

To keep your current phone number, follow the prompts to complete the port-in process. You can also contact its customer service department, who can help you activate service on your new phone.

Do note that you can also port your phone number to the Page Plus wireless service. However, you will need your account number and a pin number. Your pin number is always the last four digits of your phone number unless you have changed it.

You may also need to unlock your phone in order to use it with Page Plus. We can walk you through the process here.

SIM Card

Page Plus requires the use of one of its SIM cards to receive 4G LTE speeds and service. The SIM card, which is explored in "What Is a SIM Card?", has three different sizes available to correspond with 4G device requirements. To see which SIM card you need, you can visit its website, select the shop option, and scroll to the bottom of the page to choose the SIM card.

You'll have to do some research to find out which LTE SIM card will fit in your phone's SIM card slot as the help section on Page Plus's website is far from helpful. The best way to do this is to conduct a Google search such as, "which size SIM card do I need for an iPhone 7?" You can also pop the current SIM card out of your phone's SIM card slot and choose the right size based on your findings.

Page Plus happens to operate on the Verizon network. In other words, Page Plus' coverage map is often considered the best among the four major carriers.

Deals, Promotions & Discounts

Page Plus offers discounts on some of the phones in its inventory. You can find which models are discounted by visiting its website and selecting the shop tab. Page Plus groups its promos towards the top of the page.

Concerning plans, you receive a discount on the monthly rate when you sign up for auto pay. This is where you have a credit or debit card on file and you authorize Page Plus to charge it each month when it's time to renew your service.

Customer Service

Page Plus doesn't deliver the finest customer service as evidenced by its reviews. Common problems included data not being loaded onto the service plans correctly, misapplied payments, and poor service from the support team.

If you are a brave soul and want to experience this "service" then you can by contacting its customer support via phone, by opening a ticket online or you can mail them your inquiry. It also has an online support section with answers to common questions.

How to Change Your APN Settings

If you're bringing a used phone to Page Plus, you'll most likely need to change your APN settings. View the APN Settings for Page Plus here.

Page Plus delivers affordable phones and plans to match most budgetary needs.

At the same time, the lack of customer support, coupled with the alarming problems with service, indicates that it might be best to avoid this provider, as it offers more headaches than it's worth. You can find better-prepaid providers, with great service at the same price.

Remember, when choosing a cheap cell phone plan, it's always best to compare deals from multiple low-cost carriers.
