Charter Spectrum delivers sharp HD picture quality, access to a wide variety of entertainment choices through its on-demand option, and the ability to watch TV anywhere with its mobile application, but it's still potentially competing with various other providers in your area.
While Charter Communications is a great option to consider, you may wonder what Charter cable packages are available, if there are any valuable bundles, what the channel lineup is, and more. Well, we have that all covered for you.
In this guide, you'll find information on the Charter cable packages, technical support information, bundles that involve both high-speed internet and telephone service, and more. Hopefully, by the end of this guide, you'll be able to decide whether or not Charter cable TV is right for you.
Compare Charter TV Packages
One thing that became apparent as I searched for Charter TV packages was it doesn't possess much. Unlike providers such as the satellite television provider Dish Network or cable provider AT&T where you have access to a wide variety of TV package options, with Charter Spectrum, it is big on bundling.
|TV Select + Internet||125||$89.98|
|Triple Play Select||125||$99.99|
|Triple Play Silver||175||$119.99|
|Triple Play Gold||200||$139.99|
The one Charter cable TV plan I discovered was its TV Select package. Below is a look at some of the benefits you receive with it:
- Free HD service
- Access to over 125 channels
- Access to over 10,000 movies and TV show options through its on-demand feature
- You can add DVR service for up to four rooms in your home
- There's no contract for service
While there are a plethora of perks with this plan, if you want variety in your TV packages, Charter Spectrum doesn't have much to offer you.

Charter Spectrum Bundles
On the other hand, if you want to find the best cable TV providers with bundling services, then Charter Spectrum is a better fit, featuring plenty of bundling options for you.
It is more than likely you at least want high-speed internet too, but if you also want home telephone service it has multiple bundling choices for you.
Triple Play Select
This package is great if you want a wide selection of cable TV choices. With over 125 channels available including ESPN, CNN, and HGTV, you have access to a wide variety of the most popular programming available.
Along with cable TV service, you'll also receive Charter internet service with download speeds as fast as 60 Mbps. Then there's the home phone service where you have unlimited local and long distance calling in the United States, Canada, and more. Overall, this package is perfect if you want a sampling of Charter Spectrum's features.
Triple Play Silver
If you want more TV, this plan is the right fit. You receive more than 175 channels, featuring some of the more popular offerings for sports fans such as ESPN and the NFL Network. Movie lovers will also enjoy this package, as it includes HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime.
This plan also gives you access to Charter Spectrum's TV app. With this, you can stream live programming or on-demand content through your internet device. You also have access to free HD service which is a benefit you won't find with other providers like Time Warner Cable, who charge you $10 monthly for this feature.
Triple Play Gold
The Triple Play Gold package is perfect if you desire an extensive selection of channels. With over 200 channels available, including HBO, Starz Encore, and Epix, you receive all the movie channels you want, so you can enjoy the latest hits commercial free. You also have access to specialty sports options like the NFL Redzone channel.
What makes each of these bundling offerings enticing is the fact you can try them out with no long-term commitments. While other providers require service contracts, Charter Spectrum does not. What's more, you also receive a 30-day money back guarantee where if you try its services and they don't meet your needs, you cancel and receive your money back.

When you sign up for cable TV service, you'll receive a channel lineup at the time of installation. However, if you lose it for any reason, Charter Spectrum has you covered. Here's how you access its channel lineup:
- You visit its website.
- Next, you should click on the cable TV tab located at the top of the website.
- On the next screen, there's a black bar with tab options moving across the screen. Select the channel lineup tab.
- This will scroll the screen down to where you enter your physical address.
- After submitting it, you'll have access to your local programming guide.

As noted above, when you sign up for service through Charter Spectrum, you receive its HD service for free. Along with this, you can sign up for DVR service; this is where you have the option to pause live programming and record your favorite shows.
Charter Spectrum gives you access to a wide variety of entertainment options with its on-demand programming. With this, you have access to over 10,000 choices, including movies, TV shows, and children's programming.
In addition, you receive free on-demand showings for all local channels. This gives you the opportunity to sample out new primetime shows. Lastly, it gives you the option to purchase pay-per-view events such as UFC or boxing matches.
If you want to see if you live in an area where it services, you have several options for obtaining this information. The quickest way to do this is using our handy tool to search for cable TV providers by ZIP code.
You can also visit Charter's website. When on there, you can scroll over to the right-hand side of the website, where it has its' "find the best offers" section. Simply, type in your address to view offers. If you live in an area it services, you will see plans and pricing information. If you don't, it will notify you then.
You can also find out this information by contacting its customer service reps. When doing so, you can also learn about any promotions going on and have any questions addressed.
To find the best cable deals, my recommendation is to first check online, as many providers offer their best promotions there. Similar to checking for service availability, you can find the current promotions Charter Spectrum offers on its cable TV by visiting its website and selecting the find best offers tab on the right-hand side of the website.
If you are a current customer and your promotion period is ending soon, it is best to contact its customer service department. I recommend being proactive in this regard, as the faster you can lock in a new rate, the fewer chances you have of sticker shock occurring when your TV service falls off promotional pricing.
Charter Customer Support
Cable companies are notorious for not having the best customer service, whether it's general support or technical support. In this regard, Charter Spectrum lives up to this reputation.
The American Customer Satisfaction Index scored Charter Communications at 60. This places it in the bottom tier of cable TV subscription service providers with other companies like Time Warner Cable and Mediacom.
Furthermore, it doesn't seem as if Charter Spectrum is doing anything to improve its service.
According to the study, Charter received a 4.8 percent decrease in customer satisfaction from last year to now, representing the highest drop among cable TV providers.
On the Better Business Bureau, Charter is an Accredited Business with an A+ score. Keep in mind that the experiences of one customer are not representative of the company as a whole, but it is important to spot potential issues you may have with the company early nonetheless.
ProTip: You can access Charter Communications' (Spectrum now) customer and tech support via Spectrum's phone number or live chat. However, there is a separate phone number if you need help purchasing online packages.
If you have been or are currently a Charter TV customer, I would enjoy learning more about your tech support experiences with it. Feel free to fill out the review section located at the bottom of the page to share with us your experiences.
Is Charter Cable Right for You?
Charter Spectrum touts some unique service benefits you won't find with other cheap cable TV providers like these. The first is it offers one-hour windows for service appointments with an on-time guarantee. Through my research it is the first company to offer anything of this kind, illustrating the attentive consideration it has for its customers.
Charter Spectrum is also the first I've come across to offer contract buyouts for customers who switch services to it. How this works is that customers who are stuck with service contracts through other providers such as Comcast can switch services to Charter Spectrum.
Once you install its Triple Play bundle you will fill out the contract buyout form. Next, you email this form along with your final bill from your last provider. Charter Spectrum will cover the early termination fees assessed when you switched service providers.
Overall, these perks are rare to find.
Charter delivers an uneven performance. On one hand, it has many enticing benefits. You'll enjoy a crystal clear picture, access to extensive on-demand programming, and the ability to watch TV live with its mobile application.
Furthermore, the fact it doesn't charge for HD service nor does it require a contract are huge benefits in its favor. You won't find both of these perks with providers like Comcast, where you have to commit to a long-term contract to receive services with it.
At the same time, Charter Spectrum's customer support is among the worst for subscription TV providers. Therefore, when considering the buyer's guide to cable TV providers, I recommend investigating other options.
