They used to be good
I had Republic Wireless for years. I thought they were awesome most of that time. They saved me a ton of money by using WiFi. But about the time DISH took over I began to have some quirky problems. For instance, when sending a text to someone, who I text everyday, the recipient would see a different phone number they did not recognize. But what really ticked me off was how difficult they made it to change providers. I had to talk to several representatives before I could get the code number you need to switch. The when you switch there's a message that tells you not to delete your Republic account. It says it could take 3 or 4 days to complete the switch and your account will be deactivated automatically. I then tried to log into my account after I switched and could not log in. So I assumed it was deactivated. Then, low and behold, they charged my credit card for another month, long after I was with my new provider. I called them to get the charge removed. These trifling toads only credited half of the monthly charge.
Great service no problem with calls and save a LOT
Really love saving money went from almost $60/a month to $13 with .5 gig of data. Now got another phone which is $23 a month with 1 gig. Can't beat it!
Saved me a bundle on my cellphone bill
My old cell phone plan with Verizon was charging me about $240/mo for 3 phones and breaking my budget. I found Republic Wireless and for the same service plans on 3 phones I now pay about $71. My budget is feeling much better.
Phones do not work
These phones have costed me relationships, jobs, family, and friends. They simply don't work. They work when they want to and you never know if a call was made or received, whether you got a voicemail, text, whatever.
Customer service is great
I've dealt with Republic's customer service plenty of times (had a phone replaced, another stolen, switched phones, etc) and everytime I could not have been happier with how they treated me and the issues I brought forward. That alone makes me happy to do business with them.
I stand by Republic!
They're still new so as long as they seem dedicated to improving their services I'll stick with them. That's far more than you can say about the other big companies with their horrible excuses for customer service and overpriced long-term contracts.
