What are the benefits of cheap cell phone providers?
MVNOs use the same coverage through the major wireless networks (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) by leasing both tower storage and space from the carrier.
This allows MVNOs to resell customizable plans without the overheads. Remember, they're just leasing the space they need to give you an alternative to paying the high cost of the "big three" carriers.
Excited by what you hear? The biggest benefit of all may be what doesn't happen: You aren't forced into long-term contracts for your two-line phone plan-no more signing off for the next 24-36 months. Instead, you can use your phone knowing that you can make changes month-to-month.
Cheapest prices: Save money on the cheapest unlimited data plans with low-cost carriers like US Mobile and Tello. Offering the best price on cell phone plans, without any sacrifices.
National wireless coverage: You'll find the best cell phone coverage with MVNOs as they're powered by the three major carriers, with plenty of AT&T unlimited data plans, Verizon unlimited data plans, or T-Mobile unlimited data plans to choose from.
Upgrade your phone: If you're looking to get a new phone to go with the best cheap unlimited phone plans, there are some top picks including the latest smartphones. Choose to pay upfront or in affordable monthly installments with low-cost carriers.
Prepaid plans: With better perks, MVNOs provide the best prepaid unlimited data plans at reasonable prices. Switching to one of these prepaid carriers, a monthly plan, gives you the flexibility and freedom to amend or switch your plan if needed.
Easy activation: The best cheap unlimited data plans are easy to activate. Once you've selected your unlimited data SIM card it'll be sent to you in the post with simple instructions for setting up, so you'll be up and running in a few days.
4G LTE coverage: You'll receive access to their 4G LTE high-speed data operating on the same US networks.
5G high-speed data: If you want the fastest speeds, you can get 5G access, where it's available, at no extra cost.
Mobile hotspot data: Some unlimited data plans offer hotspot allowance so that you can tether your laptop or tablet to your mobile device. You can find some of the best unlimited hotspot plans for your mobile hotspot device.
HD streaming: If you enjoy streaming video with more data allowance, you can stay connected to streaming services.
Multiline discounts: With already low costs for their plans, MVNOs offer the best unlimited data plans for 2 lines, three lines, four lines, or more. Most plans provide discounts for each additional line added to your plan.
It's always a good idea to compare cell phone plans to ensure that you're getting the best deal.

How to pick the best unlimited phone plan
4G LTE & 5G data speeds: You'll pay less without sacrificing speed since MVNOs operate on the big three cellular networks. More and more are adding 5G coverage all the time so that you can expect high-speed data.
Unlimited talk and text messaging: Finding a new unlimited plan has never been easier. Virtually all small carriers include unlimited text and calling in their plan options. Compare cheap talk and text plans with or without data.
International calls to Canada and Mexico: International calling is a must for many people. Luckily MVNOs offer some of the best international phone plans, with free calling to certain countries like Canada and Mexico and discounted rates on others.
Multiline discounts: Low-cost carriers also offer some of the cheapest family cell phone plans, with multi-line discounts.
Wi-Fi calling: This feature is handy when you're out of your service area, allowing you to make calls over the internet instead of on your cellular connection.
Tethering/hotspot data: Cheap phone carriers allow you to use your phone as a hotspot. Pick an MVNO with the best mobile hotspot plans so you can share your mobile hotspot data with other devices.
HD video streaming: Like the big guys, some MVNOs offer HD video streaming, while others don't.

Do you need unlimited data?
Have you monitored your phone data usage to see how much you actually need? You can typically see this information in your device settings or in your account through your wireless carrier.
The truth is that most people don't need unlimited high-speed data. For truly high data users unlimited may be a good choice. This is likely only the case if you spend a lot of time doing HD video streaming or gaming away from your home Wi-Fi.
Is unlimited data really unlimited?
The term is misleading in a way. Yes, you get a much larger allowance at 4G LTE speeds- but (sorry, there's always a but!) - most carriers reserve the right to throttle service to 2G speeds after a certain amount of use. T-Mobile has the highest deprioritization threshold at 50 GB while others may be as low as 22 GB.
That doesn't mean you definitely will be throttled. If you've reached your high-speed limit most carriers will throttle in times of cellular traffic congestion (peak times). Of course, the reality is that only a very small fraction of smartphone users even reach this threshold in the first place.
It's always a good idea to read the terms and conditions in the fine print.
