Is Mint Mobile phone service any good?

Customer service and tech support is useless. I live in the middle of Las Vegas, signal strength is very poor. I will not be renewing my subscription.

Get what you pay for

I signed up with Mint about a week ago and have spent way too much time with tech support. If you come from Verizon, you will loose visual voicemail. They do not have it. I still haven't figured out how to see when I have a voicemail. Yesterday I had voicemail, today I got a call and when I tried to access the VM I was not able to do so. After a long time on the phone with calls getting dropped and having to call back. They had me set up a new VM and I lost all my old voicemails. I'm looking for a job and missed a call from a prospective employer. Customer service is trying, but it appears there are many issues. The upside is I've been watching a lot of Youtube videos to see how to fix problems and I know my phone VERY well now. I am not impressed with this company at all.

No service

Mints website stated there was service in my area when there was not. They will not refund $99 they took and trapped me into.

Cheap but customer service is clueless.

Signed up for Mint a month ago. Tried to activate phone but was not able to. I have chatted with their service representatives for hours but my Samsung phone does not activate. Run away and don't look back

Terrible connection

It just doesn't work for 5G or 4GLTE

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE The title says it all. I'm out 100 dollars since this service is absolutely trash and I have to go back to att. I asked for a refund and they said I was a day past the refund time so no refund. I tried to make this work and I thought I could just deal with it until the 3 months was over. Nope! This service is so bad that I barely get text, music fails to load half the time in my car and God forbid you try to browse the web in a Walmart of Best buy. If you have a ceiling over your head you can pretty much kiss service goodbye. Also, getting my account number was such a hassel. You have to call or talk with the rep. I kid you not, I tried to call and the service failed. So whatever I used wifi and got on a chat with them. The rep says, they need to send me a text. 15 mins later the text comes in. What an absolute joke. I hope to god this account number is right, because I'm out of here as soon as my new sim comes in. Terrible. Horrible, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

Bad Service problem with phone not fixed!

OK but they cheat on data usage

I signed up with their new year special. I'm very light user of data and almost always have access to wifi. In my 15+years of phone usage, I have never ever went above 3 gb of data. Most of the time, I'm well below 2 gb per month. So i signed up for the 4 GB thinking that'll be more than enough. In 20 days, I was out of data!! I didn't change anything about my data usage. I complained but never got any satisfactory response from them. In month 2, it's similar story. I have noticed that if I use any data while on cellular, i get charged minimum 0.1 gb. Even if I just check my gmail for 2 minutes, my data usage will decrease by 0.1 GB minimum. That's 100 MB!!! there is no way that checking email for 5 minutes could use 100 mb of data. I will use the service for 6 months that I have paid for but I have no intension of continuing beyond that.

Horrible

Bought a phone from Mint. Customer Services hasn't been able to help me link it to their service. I hate Mint Mobile and hate their LG phone. I am so frustrated.

Headache

Purchased phone from Mint--worsed phone I've ever used. Customer service is useless.

Bad service. refund is denied

Purchased for Apple watch. Service not available. Requested refund. Told to wait on SIMM card. It arrived immediate request made ,denied, past return date expired Mint's fault

Misleading Coverage Map and Poor Tech Support

Their "coverage map" only shows "outdoor" coverage so the moment you step inside any building, you lose service. Even outside, I have never had the 5G service promised and rarely actually ever have service. Tech support is useless - I've been told multiple times they will "escalate" my issue, but that's never actually happened. Just save your money and buy from a service provider that actually gives you what they say they will.

Horrible. Totally scammed by mint.

We purchased two lines on the new year special and brought our own phones. Paid for 6 months up front for both lines because they had a 7 day trial for their “unlimited data” plan so I figured I could get a refund if I needed. There’s a reason why the return period is only 7 days!!! After about 3 weeks, I ran out of the 35gb high speed data and at that point it’s supposed to slow down. By slow, what they SHOULD warn people about it is becomes unusable. Completely. Can’t use an app, can’t check email, only call and text (NO MMS). I had to purchase data THREE TIMES in one billing period to have a usable phone. Upon researching (a little too late…) I see many other people saying how they were scammed in this same way. Now they’ve refused me a refund, stopped replying to my emails, and have failed to respond to the BBB complaint as of yet. I assume they won’t respond to that because even though they’ve apparently been in business 12 years, they aren’t BBB accredited. There’s a reason for that! If this was an honest company they would have made an exception for unusable service. But they’re not, and this is their plan. To rip people off. Currently going through PayPal, which is how I paid, to try one last time to get my money back. Over $300 is a lot for one month of crappy mint service on two lines………….

Dangerous to Pay to Unlock Phone

I didn't know much about "unlocked" phones so I've had a lot of trouble trying to help a friend get a sustainable cell phone plan. I paid to have her phone unlocked which was a total scam and Tracfone shouldn't be listed as a reputible company. They allow phishers to phish your account - or whoever owns the tracfone CS number now. Anyways, even the mint mobile customer service members I've talked to are mostly non-native English speakers which makes it very difficult to explain my situation and my needs.

Save yourself the hassle

I purchased two phone/plan bundles from this company. Apparently, they sent me two locked phones and this past week none of the three customer service people I spent hours chatting with knew how to deal with the problem. To add insult to injury, these support people will tell you that they'll fix the problem but they need and hour (or 24 hours) and they'll get back to you. THEY NEVER GET BACK TO YOU AND THEY NEVER FIX THE PROBLEM. You are stuck, on your own, with hundreds of dollars of useless phone equipment. Worst customer service ever!

Amazing Plan, Forget your Refund

I bought a SIM and it didn't come on time so I cancelled for a refund to go with another provider. I ended up coming back and have their service now, which is so cheap and amazing. However it's been over a month and still no refund! I have called and messaged over five times and nobody will help me. One of them was even rude to me and blamed my bank (I checked with bank. Not them!)

Called 611 because a call I was placing wasn't getting through. The first guy was professional, got disconnected after about 20min. Introduced himself as Lewis. The second guy introduced himself as Al and there was a huge commotion in the background.. He said his coworkers were celebrating New Years Eve.. Good luck sorting anything out..

The phone sold came defective and block

The phone sold by Mint came block from another company. Return was difícil and slow , customer service didn’t know how to do it

Worst service ever

I would give mint mobile negative stars if I could. They lied to me and said I could get great service through them. They get you to purchase a plan and then you realize you can't use the internet. Not only did they cause me to lose my original phone number of 8 years, I'm sure I will be fighting them to get my money back. Ryan Reynolds needs to quit pushing a fraudulent company. He is going to lose his ass on this venture. Don't waste your time!
