Is Total by Verizon phone service any good?

Customer service is junk

Since they changed from Total Wireless to Total by Verizon their customer service sucks and their website only half works, the operators don't know anything because they outsource overseas to people who barely speak English. Do not I repeat do not use these people they suck.

Beware of Total by Verizon

A few weeks ago I moved my cell phone number and service from Verizon to "Total by Verizon" to save several hundred dollars per year. It has been nothing but problems from day one. Today I wanted to move my number and service back to Verizon and found out Total has a 60 day no change out policy. How they accomplish this is by locking your phone. So beware.

Horrible customer service.

Needed to return a phone that was sent in error and to get a free shipping label is like asking for government secrets!!! Finally thought I had it fixed after multiple calls and hours waiting on the phone and the label was never emailed. I can’t even think about calling again its been horrendous.

Customer service is VERY poor.

Attempting to get a transfer Pin so that I can change cell provider. Five attempts have failed so far, with promises that the PIN will be texted to me, or emailed to me. Never happens. then back into their support queue again. Their 611611 text help line does not function.

Terrible customer service for activation

Purchased a new A53 5G for a good price. That arrived within 2 days--great! When I called customer service to set up the phone they told me to turn it on. Well guess what--the phone doesn't come with a charging cord and the phone was dead. When I asked why they don't tell you that up front so you can have one ready to go, I got no answer. So I get my own cord. Transfer from my S7 to the A53 worked fine then. Then the drama starts! Call 1 to port my number from Verizon to Total Verizon. They tell me to wait 24 hrs and good to go. I wait 36 hrs and still nothing Call #2: They try to tell me to wait longer, and I say no. Then they tell me my account is missing information. What info? Turns out you need to call your current carrier to get a "transfer pin". I do so. Call #3: I call to give them my transfer pin, and they tell me my request is in process. I say no, I was told to call back with this pin. So they transfer me to some other dept. They give me a completely different number to call. Call #4: Where does this number go to? Right back to the same area I was just in! They tranfer me back again to the other dept. Call #5: Rep seems a little more prepared. She takes the pin and tell me it's now in process and hold on. Then I get cut off! Now my S7 does not call/text and my new A53 does not call/text--says no service. I have no phone and no land line! The Reps all sound the same--they use the same wording no matter what you are discussing--like they are reading off a script! And--good luck understanding the Indian accent. I just hope once this is straightened out the service works because Customer Service is useless. I give them 1 month, then I will move to someone else if this doesn't get better.

Atrocious customer service.

When it was Total Wireless, everything ran smoothly. It wasn't until they rebranded as Total by Verizon was when the headaches began. I had a two-line plan, but it didn't carry over with the rebrand. The $85 2-plan card worked for my phone, but it didn't for the other person's phone. So, we decided to go with another service provider, but Verizon made the porting of the numbers an absolute nightmare. Customer service agent Jelyn was absolutely no help, and she refused to let me speak to her supervisor because she "was trained" to do this call. If you want horrible, inept, incompetent, apathetic script-reading customer service, love to get the runaround, and don't mind pay for separate lines even though they are supposed to be on one plan, then Total Verizon is your kind of cell phone provider.

the

I never had a problem until Verizon showed their face..lost my account..absolutely nonexistent customer service...get lost, Verizon!

Took my money and then shut off my phones

My family and I were with this company for 5 years and the last 10 days have been a nightmare. They have shut off my phones 3 separate times. Customer service said it was our fault that they did this even though we had paid for our service (this is a prepaid service). After the 3rd time we had enough. Then they wouldn't let us transfer our numbers out. We have been on the phone for 11 hours trying to work this out and they just keep saying we are sorry but there is nothing we can do. The company is one of the worst I have ever experienced in my life.

RUN AWAY!! Go with Visible.

I am not even a current customer of Total Wireless because I couldn't even get the equipment I needed to activate my service. It interested me because of the low cost, so I went online to purchase 2 sim cards (one for myself and one for my mom who was going on the plan with me) as well as the plan ($60/month). I received a confirmation email and then my card was charged that same day for the plan and 2 sim cards. The person that I chatted with said it would come in 2 days - it took 10 days. When we eventually received it, I opened the package to find only 1 sim card. So I figured I would have to contact them saying that we are missing one of the sim cards. Took me hours to actually get a hold of someone - tried texting, chatting online, and phone calls. Everything led me to a "scheduled call back". Finally got someone, who then transferred me and then hung up the phone. Went through the whole process again and finally got someone who I could explain the problem to. She said all they could do was refund the money for the 1 sim card and then I would have to go online and buy another one. Makes no sense why she couldn't just send another one. After all that, I knew I couldn't be their customer (mind you - I wasn't even technically on their service!!). So I went onto Visible and signed up, got their sim cards, activated my plan, all while still waiting for the refund from Total Wireless. I tried contacting Total Wireless again today to ask for the refund of the plan they charged (that I've never used) and am having to go through all the hoops again of getting a scheduled call and they hung up on me AGAIN!!! It's been hours of me trying to contact someone with no success and they still owe me $68 dollars. I don't understand why I can't get a simple call back.

bad service

bought lg stylo bought 30 dollar cover for it to protect it looks good not a scratch on it but phones screen turns white and they cant fix it or do nothing been customer for years am done with it

Should be a minus 3 No help and do not care

2 web chats then phone call transferred 3 times no has any authority to help To cheap to hire good help !!!!!

You will be transferred at 5 times to get help

Called for help with credit card takes at least 20 minutes No one has authority to do anything This is as bad as it gets

No useful customer service.

Never get a phone on lease from them! I got one and then tried to change the plan on it to a different Total Wireless Plan. They bricked the phone and I have been working three weeks to restore service to it. During this time, two of the other phones have "magically" reverted to 2G service during the month even with 96GB fast data left. Getting the 4G data restored to the phones is PAINFUL because they go through an hour of trying to prove it is your phone and not them that is the issue. I have had Tracfone for years and the service was .. eh but nothing like this. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Run from this company.

reliable so far no network connection problems

okay into first month so far good in between Tucson and Globe AZ.

Cheap

Their customer service would be terrible if you could reach someone who you can understand and in this continent. I don't care if you are India, but please enunciate your words so I can understand you through your accent and I will do the same thing. Also, they will not port your number over if you are at the end of your monthly period, I was on my last day and they said that the port would not be complete by the end of my month so I had to buy an entire month of service for a few minutes. No matter what your problem is they give the same answer "I'm so sorry but there is nothing I can do for you." Then why the hell are you here if you can't do anything except answer the phone!?!?!?

Customer service is Total stupid

called four (4) time only to get four different answers none right.

Great Service

Great service, on the same network as Verizon, but Total Wireless' phones are cheaper and I save $5.00 on my plan plus I get an extra GB.

Customer Service

Great service, great customer support. Love Total Wireless so far!

Decent Prices

You pay a good price for the service and it works as expected but they should seriously advertise disclosures. I can't use voice and data.
