Is PureTalk phone service any good?
customer service after you sign up
I have been on the phone at least six times dealing with an issue, they keep transferring me without notice, and then I have to start explaining everything again and still no resolve.
The price and service were fine.
After using PTUSA for several months, I had a Call Forwarding need. This function is NOT supported on Android phones with this carrier.
reception
I had an older Motorola that worked great but suddenly I could no longer send or receive pictures on messages. I could still send photos on whatsapp and facebook messenger so it wasn't my phone. I called customer service tech on several occasions and they all kept doing the same thing but didn't work. Then i was told it had to do with AT&T who they use and they would contact them to fix it. Never happened after a few more calls. I had to spend hundreds to buy a new Samsung and… it worked great for a month or so then again i'm having the same problem. I'm loosing reception where i could get it before and am starting not to be able to receive and send pics on messenger. I'm going to have to leave Pure Talk USA and get a more reliable provider
Service is not as promised
I have a brand new Pixel 4a that supports WiFi calling, so before I signed up I called customer service to see if this would be included in my plan since it isn't with many MVNO carriers. I was told, "All of our plans include WiFi Calling." WRONG! After my service was activated, it wasn't available, so I called again and was put through to tech support. I was told WiFi Calling is NOT available! And this came after I was told by customer support to do a factory reset on my pho…ne to get the option to appear. Worst customer service ever. These people don't even know what they offer let alone how to setup an Android phone.
took my money, never received sim cards or refund
didn't get phone service and lost money
Coverage, internet
This is an absolutely horrible cellular and internet/data solution. I went from Verizon to this company and cut my costs n half. However, when you can’t even get phone call coverage in your house or data, it’s hardly worth any savings. Half the price, get 5% performance.
Coverage, price
Voicemail sound quality is extremely poor. I can never hear what's in the voicemails.
Customer service
I had data issues that took me almost 2 months to fix because customer service couldn't help me. I kept getting passed to someone who would just repeat the same solution over and over but that solution never fixed anything.
Price
The pricing is amazing - so much so that the loss of coverage is worth it. I was originally on Verizon's network but swapped because my Verizon bills were so high. While I noticed a decrease in coverage, it isn't so bad that I get no service. It still works quite well in metropolitan areas. One problem I do have is that I do have problems with sending texts and GIFs (and receiving them) to Android-based phones. This only started happening when I joined PureTalk.
Customer service
Hands down the worst customer service I ever experienced. My parents had a voicemail issue that was supposedly caused by the number porting "not being completed yet". Well, it's been a little over a month now. So I called customer care and was immediately told that it was likely their phones and that they needed to add visual voicemail. So I was put on hold only to be hung up on. This is bs.
Reception
Reception is awful in my house. I can't get any calls through and my data is so slow nothing comes through when I check my Facebook. Seriously considering going back to AT&T. It may be more expensive but you get way better quality and service.
Price
Pricing is really good but I don't get the number of bars I'm supposed to get. I should be getting 4 or 5, not 1 or 2. I thought I would get the same reception with PureTalk as with Verizon.
Customer service
I love how helpful customer support is. All the reps I spoke with were really nice and not even rude when I struggled with understanding my issue with my phone.
Reception
Prices are very good and service has been excellent, even when we experienced electricity outages. Really satisfied with the service.
Coverage
I was curious about PureTalk so I gave them a chance. Glad I did! Was easy and quick to set up. Coverage is strong in my area.
Ease of use
Super fast. Really simple to use.
Quality
Happy with the service I've been getting with Pure Talk. But I am disappointed in the amount of time it takes to contact a representative. At least set up a call-back system.
Customer support
Pure Talk's prices are really good but that doesn't excuse the atrocious customer service. I was with the carrier for a few years but I had a recent issue that required speaking with a customer representative. I've been trying for a few days now and have been unable to get a hold of anyone. I usually give up after an hour of elevator hold music.
Customer service
I like using this company. The customer service representatives are straight from the USA so it's way easier to understand them. Sad to say I can't make calls when I'm overseas though.
Cost
I purchased a phone and plan from Pure TalkUSA for emergencies and they seemed to be the cheapest around. It has come in a handy a few times now. Really can't go wrong having a backup phone service for so little.
