Is Red Pocket phone service any good?
Tried to use service twice, BEWARE
Tried to use service twice, multiple sim cards and multiple phones. Tech support is terrible. Web site is intentionally hard to use. Try to find you credit card that is on file. Try to cancel service, you will see
Not worth it
Long hold times calling customer service. Chat lines never have anyone on them. If you have spotty service they won’t be able to do anything.
Bad start
Had an awful time setting up where I couldn't really get the help I needed but after finally figuring it out service works smoothly.
Superior to T-Mobile in every way
Switched from T-Mobile to Red Pocket and so far Red Pocket has been superior in every way. It has a stronger signal than T-Mobile and better customer service. It took me only 10 minutes to swap between networks too.
Very Satisfied With Red Pocket
I've been using Red Pocket GSMA for awhile now and I'm satisfied. I get better coverage compared to my previous phone service. The customer service is not only helpful but also very nice.
A great service for when you're strapped for cash
Nowadays it's necessary to have a cell phone but I was laid off in the pandemic. Since then I've taken a job that pays much less so I had to cut costs and tighten my budget. I tried Red Pocket when I heard about it from a friend. It's cheap especially if you're able to pay for a whole year. I only need the essential plan, which you can get through eBay, and it's just a little over $8 per month. It's been such a relief to be able to put aside money for other essentia…ls.
the text messaging does not work well and customer
I bought unlimited annual plan. Text messages do not show up ..says downloading and also now asking to add minutes to plan inspite of buying the unlimited plan. Lots of issues
Budget-friendly pricing!
It's one of the best deals you can get. A+ customer service and coverage.
Great
I enjoy the plan flexibility Red Pocket has and the ability to switch between GSMA, GSMT, and CDMA networks.
Does what I need it to do
RP is not best in class so don't expect that. Their data speeds are decent and they have good coverage. I would overall rate it as decent. It's not terrible but it's not the best either. Customer service is friendly and helpful, though the wait time can take a bit.
Gone downhill
At the beginning, they were great. I couldn't find a better mobile provider. They had customer service willing to help and there was hardly any waiting time. But since then while the waiting times are a little longer, the customer service reps have gone to crap. It takes so long to get anything done because they put you on hold so often. They may not be able to help you either! Sometimes it takes hours just to get anything done. The data and phone are still great, but I just can't deal… with customer service like this. You've lost a loyal customer, Red Pocket.
Bad plan and service
My phone's not able to send screenshots and photos to android users. Customer service has no clue how to help me with the issue. Incompetent all around.
Customer service = 100%
Item came in fast and customer service walked me through activating my new plan step-by-step.
It has 5G!
I can use my Samsung s21's 5g network with Red Pocket which makes Red Pocket already a winner in my book. It also has some great coverage and customer support is one of the best out there.
Good company
I got my SIM after a couple days. Support helped me with getting my phone working. Network hasn't been a problem so far.
No issues
Can't say I've had issues with Red Pocket. They're cheap and I've not had any problems with phone calls.
Only pay for what I need
Have had Red Pocket cdma version for a little over a year now and I love it. I use very little data so what they offer works perfectly for me. They also have great coverage and customer service.
No better rates out there
I want to start by saying I don't even use 3GB of data every month. On average I would say it's closer to 1. I've been looking for a new phone service to move to because my phone bill has just gotten so expensive. I learned about Red Pocket while browsing Reddit and decided to give them a shot. Because wow, it's only 15 bucks a month for 3GB of data if you pay for a whole year. And so far I love it. I've had not one incident with my phone. No dropped calls or anything. W…hen I have an issue I just email customer service and they usually reply within a day. They also sound 'real', nothing formal. Highly recommended.
RP Mobile does what's promised
It's great for inexpensive plans.
Switched away
I wish I could say I had a good experience with Red Pocket but I can't. I used them for a few months before finally giving up and switching to another Provider. I had a few issues with them. One big issue was when they were supposed to throttle my speeds they instead cut my data all together. I had to jump through hoops going through many customer service representatives until they fixed the problem. So I can't recommend them to anyone unless they want to deal with the headache.
