Is Red Pocket phone service any good?

Great if you're on a low-budget

During the pandemic, I lost my job and had to take a position that pays significantly less, making budget cuts essential. Thankfully, a friend recommended Red Pocket to me, which has been a amazing for my finances. I was able to secure their essential plan for a little over $8 a month which has freed up much-needed funds, allowing me to focus on other important expenses.

Terrible customer service with no knowledge.

Tried to transfer my anual plan esim and nobody could make it happen. It takes their service department over 24 hours to respond. The response was a "sorry not compatible" copy/paste response that even tried to sell me one of their phones. My phone is unlocked, but perhaps too new, so they can't help for 48 hours. Really?! 2 days before I even know if it will be resolved. This after getting a plan for my son too. We will likely both be changing carriers. I am really disappointed.

Dont lose your Red Pocket phone...

I have 4 lines for my family, my son lost his phone on vacation. I live chatted with a red pocket agent to get a replacement SIM for a replacement phone, i was advised to wait 5 days for the replacement, it did not arrive, I chatted again, was promised expedited delivery, never arrived, chatted again, no record of any replacement.. they are clowns, moving to an alternate provider. AVOID

Bad Experience

Redpocket mobile was unable to get my device working on their network, since they already billed me I asked for a refund. They said I should get a refund in 7 to 10 days but then they cancelled my number that I have had for over ten years and after 4 days they still have not been able to get my number reinstated so I can get my phone working with another provider. They keep telling me they are escalating the case and to call back in 24 hours. Every time I call back they have a new excuse including that no one is available with "higher support". I have spent over 6 hours on the phone and in chat sessions and there is no resolution in sight.

Transferred from AT&T

Overall, we're happy with the service and particularly pleased with the cost savings since switching. The process of porting numbers was smooth for my husband and me, but we encountered some issues with our kids' phones. It took about a week and a half to resolve, but customer service was exceptional throughout the experience. Considering they don't have a physical location, their customer support has been phenomenal. We even tested the coverage in Alaska and found it satisfactory.

Get what I'm paying for

I consider it a big win that I'm receiving the service I pay for without any hidden fees or extra monthly charges. The coverage is just as good as my previous provider, and I've had no need to contact customer service so far. The billing process is straightforward, and I've got no regrets about making the switch.

Top service on a low price

The annual plan is priced really well. I received the SIM package without any delay, and when I mistakenly purchased a locked phone, their support team was quick to update my IMEI number after I replaced it. Overall, everything has been smooth.

Cheap plan no problems

Overall, the service is great and suits my needs, especially because I don't use my phone a lot. The plan is incredibly affordable, which I really appreciate. However, I've noticed that sometimes my mobile data seems to get used up even when I haven't activated it for the month. This can be frustrating when I need to view an image or something that someone has sent me. Other than this minor issue, I have no complaints.

Signed up for another year

Just renewed my Red Pocket plan for another year after a successful first month. I'm using the AT&T network and haven't faced any difficulties. Signing up for the annual plan was quite simple. However, I had to deduct a star because I waited a couple of hours to get in touch with customer service for my initial number porting. That said, it seems that once you're part of their network, all your needs can be handled online.

Good service, terrible customer service

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to Tina, the young lady in India who, after over 6 (SIX) hours on the phone with several different customer service agents, figured out the issue with our Red Pocket service. We had just decided to give up our family's transfer to RP and return to Verizon, due to hours and hours of disinterested, borderline rude customer service representatives making us repeat the same tests over and over again, when I was put through to Tina, who resolved the issue within 5 minutes. Tina was polite and efficient, apologised and actually listened regarding all the failed tests we had already tried, thereby finding out it was a simple billing mistake/glitch that had caused our text message service to be cut out of the blue. Promote that woman! Give her a pay rise! Exceptional service from this one agent - thank you Tina The phone service itself has proved as good as Verizon. No complaints there.

do not choose red pocket

i paid 450 bucks a year for 100G plan. but when they changed this plan to 50G, my old plan suddenly shut down, there is no signal anymore. when i asked help, the CS of red pocket told me everything in good condition. but i can not get any signal. it is too much bad experience. they did not resolve the issue.

Just recently started using Red Pocket

And so far It's been nothing but excellent for the price! I get a strong signal, HD streaming, and reliable hotspot. Customer chat has given me no issues.

A good company

Red Pocket doesn't have the most user friendly website out there, but it's worth using to get some fantastic phone service. The service works really good in my neck of the woods. It also has some of the best prices!

It was good until it wasn't.

When I got Red Pocket a few months ago, the service was pretty good. I was able to get sufficient speeds and call quality was good. But then the quality of the network dropped to the point service was only intermittenly working. I couldn't get help for this issue, so I just gave up and switched to US Mobile.

No issues with Red Pocket

Gave Red Pocket a try and I had such a pleasant experience I bought the yearly plan. The only problem I had (the reason I removed a star) was the wait to get a customer support specialist: a little over an hour. Despite that they were able to walk me through the problem.

Saving a lot of money by switching!

AT&T's costs have gone through the roof over the past few years so I switched to Red Pocket a couple months ago. There isn't a noticeable difference in call and signal quality and I'm saving over $100 per month!

Customer service = so good!

When I switched to Red Pocket, I had problems with porting my number. When I contacted customer service, I was able to reach them with litte wait time. They were also very helpful.

Good cell phone provider

Their plans are reasonably priced. Has good coverage for my cell phone and the data speeds are fast enough for me to use Facebook and YouTube.

Highly recommended

I can't recommend anything other than Red Pocket... there service helps people save a lot of money....

Quality at competitive prices

I switched from Google Fi to Red Pocket because Fi's prices were a little expensive for an MVNO. Red Pocket is not only cheaper, but their customer service is a lot better, with friendly and helpful people.
