Is Mint Mobile phone service any good?

barefaced-lie

It's OK for a while it works. Once something goes wrong there's no way to get it fixed. They simply lie to you, barefacely promising and promising but doing absolutely nothing. The point is very simple. They already have your money and could not care less. Needless to say they are not about to refund despite providing no service at all. Furthermore, their so-called "escalation team" is even worse. I was "personally guaranteed" twice, by Joe (#319) and John (#1668). They use pretty same word and most probably this is how the company instructs them to lie.

Day9 and voicemail is not working with no explanat

Everything seemed to be fine but on day 9 I have no voicemail access and that can be a real problem

service

Man did I try to make this work. It worked ok for a while so I prepaid for a year. Now I intend to cancel 4 months in and just eat the loss. I can't get wifi calling to work consistently on my daughters phone and, due to the lack of customer service, I haven't been able to figure out if the problem is the phone or the service. Given the number of wife calling complaints I'm concluding the problem is the service not the phone. Maybe I'd be happy if there were T Mobile towers in my area.

Pricing plan

I got this phone for my 73 year old mother. She was with Consumer Cellular which I was paying $18 month with no data and non smart phone. She wanted to be like her friends..surf the net, play games and watch movies. So after much research I decided to get her the iPhone 7 refub with 3 mos included. The phone took 7 days to arrive and was in mint condition. I ported her old number and it took less than 30mins. It was working perfect. Only issue I had was not able to sent picture text.

T-mobile network

Phone service is fine

Signed up and bought a phone through them. Mint doesn't sell phones directly, they come from Quality One Wireless in Orlando, Florida. Quality is a joke. I ordered a Pixel phone and paid for fast shipping. It took about a week for them to pull a box off the shelf and get it to me. The phone is defective, get's lines across the screen as I use it. I contacted them to request a replacement and Steve Small, the man that replied seemed fine at first but seemed to take it personally. Here is their "RMA procedure: I first had to contact Google support to troubleshoot it. Their tech said it is definitely defective and needs to be replaced. So I had to fill out a RMA - request to return it for a replacement/refund. The I would have to return it - AND PAY THE RETURN POSTAGE - they would play with it for a few days to try to reproduce the issue. Once they do that, they will send me a new one standard shipping. I might get the new one 2 weeks after they decide it's defective. Yes, that's right - they sent me a defective phone, I have to pay to return it and wait 3 or more weeks to get it back. That's if they are smart enough to reproduce the issue. It requires messing with the screen but then the lines show up all over it. Has to be turned off or left to sit awhile to make them go away, but they always come back. One of the most frustrating companies I've ever dealt with and Steve seemed to take it personal that I wanted it replaced! I told him I knew that they didn't break it but someone would have received it and wanted it replaced. He shouldn't take it personal that I want a new one. I don't trust them and am actually nervous that they will drop the new one on the floor before shipping it to me. Also, I won't get any extension on the prepaid 3 months I already paid for. Tons of fun!

$15 a month for talk, text and data.

Been on the Mint system for 8 months and I could not be happier. Moved from T-Mobile to Mint and since it is the same system, I could not tell the difference.

Not just slow,, its nonfunctional on internet.

Not good. They purposely lied to me at changing over my number.

Service

Terrible reception. Cancelled after 5 days, Mint refused to refund balance of unused 3 month service.

hidden fees

I was already to make the switch and even had the sim in my virtual cart when I noticed the total was far greater than the advertised price. When I read the fine print what those recurring fees were I decided to stay with T-Mobile. After reading negative reviews here from people in my area I'm glad I didn't switch.

Price and signal data

So good so far

You only get Computer agent not Human

I paid $60.+ upfront and expected responsible service. First: "MINT" isn't open on weekends. Sim card didn't arrive on time. I had to go to FedEx and pick it up. They want me to copy the Sim card numbers and apply it online. BUT, there is Only 10 numbers and Not 11 as they said on the Sim card ... What a "BS" company ...!!! I asked for and Want a refund. This company is CRAP !!! I wanted to give this company an Honest Try !!!

Cheap, works well in my area

MINT works well (SO FAR) in my area where T Mobile lo works well.

If it wasn't for wifi, it would not work...

without the wifi, I would not receive calls or texts...

fast in some area

You get what you paid for

Coverage. Very spotty. 4g LTE drops often to 2G

The coverage is not great. Very spotty and data is not reliable since T-Mobile let their customers go first you can sit somewhere with 4G LTE when it drops to 2G all of a sudden

Economical EMERGENCY mobile service

I've been with Mint for about a year now. I switched from Verizon b/c I almost never use my phone and was sick of paying $60 JUST to have an emergency line. But I travel a lot for work. Wherever I go, I have difficulty getting reception with Mint (newer iPhone). Before switching, I spoke with their customer service about whether my phone was compatible and whether I could expect stable service at least at home. I was told "yes" to both. Later, once I was using the service and found I couldn't even make calls from my house, I was told to "go outside" to use my phone. ???!!! I've given up trying to use mobile web services or apps that depend on a stable connection--like mapping software. I returned to Verizon after trying both Sprint & TMobile because those networks just couldn't provide reliable service outside big cities (like on a cross-USA drive...). Verizon works everywhere I've been. I also find some of Mint's policies sketchy. Like, their customer service agents tell you you can use tethering but then after your conversation with them, you get an email that explicitly says Mint does NOT support tethering. Shady. Sadly, you get what you pay for. Mint might work as an emergency line--but then again, an emergency line should be reliable. And Mint's just not reliable, at least in my experience.

They have proven to me that they are the best.

My wife and I have been with Mint Mobile almost from the beginning. We have not only been very pleased with Mint Mobile, we will be customers for life. Mint Mobile has saved us hundreds of dollars compared to our previous carrier and when compared to all the big carriers and the other MVNO's (carriers that use another network such as T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint). With other carriers I had no coverage in some areas where I should have been connected. With other carriers I had text messages delayed up to 8 days after I sent them. With Mint Mobile I always been connected via LTE or Wi-Fi. The only thing I wish was better is the time it takes to connect to their support. Which I had to do once

you cannot ever get connected

This is like my 4th or 5th month, and trying to get connected is horrible! Sometimes it will work, and sometimes it will not. I thought maybe my phone was bad, so I bought a new one. Nope, same problem. As soon as my prepaid time expires we are heading somewhere else. You get what you pay for I guess!

Support

I have an account paid till August 2019 and Im being told it is suspended as of may but its not may yet and you can never talk to a live person at MINT
