Is Mint Mobile phone service any good?

Very easy and quick setup up! Great for short term

Loved having Mint Mobile! Was just what I needed and the price is a steal!! Rarely didn't have good reception, but does happen more than their large competitor Verizon. The value way out ways Verizon though. The contracts are so easy and flexible too! Can upgrade or downgrade on their website without having to google everywhere else. Also the most pain-free mobile company to cancel with too, which I have temporarily for traveling for a few months. Highly recommend at least trying it!

Great cell service at a very good price

My phone number Port was easy and almost immediate. The service is good it's T-Mobile and I have good download speeds. I already purchased a year in advance in addition to my 3-month intro program. I also really liked that they have Wi-Fi calling since sometimes in my home I have a bad signal

Very affordable, and good network coverage

I've loved Mint mobile. They have great customer service, and they are the cheapest LTE providers that I have found.

Horrible.

Haven't returned my refund. I have to follow up several times. No follow up from them. Cancelled service and called up saying cancelling. They mentioned everything taken care off. But they charged and haven't returned refund. Giving some stupid reason each time i call them. I followed up with them for 3 months on this issue. Lost my hope of a refund .

Affordable, service ok. LTE not so much.

No complaints except for data packages.

Service

I'm currently a year-long (paid up front) Mint Mobile customer. I don't use mobile often--maybe 12-minutes a month. Unless I'm traveling & need GPS/maps. But I moved to a new home and had asked Mint's customer service if there was coverage there and they told me it was good. On getting to my new home, I couldn't make calls and couldn't access the internet. Mint's suggestion? I go outside of my apartment or car. Let me repeat that: to get reception, I should stand outside of either my apartment or car. Riiiiiiight. Then there's the promise of 4G LTE. I have NEVER gotten speeds anywhere near 4G. In fact, the internet on my iPhone (8) is soooooooo slow that I just don't use it. That may be Mint's/Sprint's intention: throttle internet so badly that more people just won't use it. I can't use my mapping software because the internet access is so bad the maps are constantly timing out... Like so many other people, I'm sick of these telecom communities providing such sub-par service. I had Verizon before. It usually worked fine, but paying that much money for a phone on standby 99% of the time was unacceptable. Next year I won't renew with Mint. I'll just use the expensive home internet service I'm paying for for everything. Oh, while Mint's customer service technicians are polite, they don't really help you with anything if you really have a problem. I wanted to be a huge fan of Mint & convince all my family, friends, and colleagues to switch, but after nearly a full year with them, it's really not worth it. So you save a lot relative to Verizon. So what if you can't even use your phone? Better to put my monthly/yearly payments towards a tax-deferred saving plan.

Switched and Im very happy!

Switched and I'm very happy with signal, price, etc. I have had 2 issues, one with set up and I used the on line chat which was very helpful and another time I called in and my issue was resolved promptly. I don't get any notification when I have a voice mail, but I've just gotten used to checking it.

Does NOT work near me.

Got Mint for my sons phone. He never answered a call in 2 months he had it. His text to me said "My phone SUCKS ASS". I switched and all is OK now.

Works every bit as good as T-Mobile.Easy to switch

Order the free trial SIM, you won't be disappointed. Takes just minutes to set up.

Not receiving call, a randon issue.

Mint Mobile has a problem with various cell phones not receiving all calls or text. read their forum and you will find this problem is wide spread.

no different than any other carrier

I've used Verizon and AT&T in the past before switching to Mint. the only difference between Mint and the larger carriers I used to use is no more insane cell phone bills! Customer service was very friendly and helpful! So glad I made the switch!!

Customer Service, worst I ever experienced

Bought 3 month service, was cancelled after one month. After several phone calls was promised that service would be restored. Still no service. I am now convinced that Mint Mobile is a scam and that I must let as many people as possible know that this outfit is a bunch of charlatans.

Poor Coverage area.

My T-Mobile phone has much better coverage than my Mint Mobile phone.

Data goes down, Often!

Get what you pay for, subpart compared to every cell company I have had.

Keep in mind that $15 monthly rate is an introductory offer for tye first three months on a 2 gig/ month 4g plan. After that it goes to $23/ month.

Unreliable service

Had to give up Mint Mobile after one month. Some calls were going straight to voicemail. There is no notification for missed calls. Caller id only shows the #. It can't be customized. Horrible if you are trying to run a business.

Service and the fox

Great purchase experience and awesome savings!

Data is pretty fast.

If you aren't near one of their towers, voice calls are unintelligible

Price

Tried to get a refund during the 7 day Grace period. Over 30 days and still waiting. CS is really poor and should count for something. They just give you the runaround. Service does work though. Who cares about the fox....

super cheap, easy to change plans

so easy! should have done it sooner. you can change plans online. I make international calls, easy to top up and cheap.
