terrible waited of rhouse online to be told can't help to be switched to phone only to wait again and not only that be sent to somewhere on the planet only to speak to someone with an accent you cannot understand!

I have no choice but to use Optimum, as I live in Brookhaven and they are the only provider available. I called to downgrade my TV service, they gave me a package with alleged faster internet, they said the would send a new router. I received the router, in a package that was crushed. When I called to set it up, they had not programmed it and it took me 2 hours of being on the phone with them, they also never sent the return label for the old router. The internet service kept going out, I work from home so this was a huge issue. After countless phone calls to customer service, waiting on hold forever, getting call backs hours after the time frame they gave me, I would be connected to someone in another country that I could not understand....every time. I finally got a supervisor because the replacement router that was to be sent in 5-7 business days, still had not arrived after two weeks, nor had the label to return first router. They set up an appointment for a technician to come to me a week later. In that time I received 3 phone calls from Optimum, all reps that I could not understand, and they wanted to troubleshoot again. I asked just to have tech come. My appointment was for today between 8 AM-11Am....It is 12:44 and no tech, no call, nothing. The appointment was confirmed yesterday and again this morning. This company is the WORST!!! If you live in an area that you have a choice for another provider, use the other!
At this time, need for home schooling and/or business... forget about it...
Terrible, constant daily internet loss and I have exchanged modems. Increased service.
I recently helped my Mom convert to have Cable TV/Internet/Phone. Optimum is an absolute nightmare! Do NOT do business with them at all cost. I spent hours on the phone to try to get a phone number ported, they totally mislead me about bringing cable into the home as they will not run the cable within the house, they mislead concerning the TV service and I ended up with a service with basically no cable channels and all the phones in the house no longer ring. I called to explain this and they just argued with me and told me I need to pay more to get the phone working, the cable wired and more channels. Optimum are nothing more then a bait and switch scam! Stay away!!
I sent back my modem and router because it had a monthly fee, prices dropped for about 6 months and then there was a price increase. I removed a box price went down for a few months, then right back up. No matter what I do it cost me 185 a month. Next I will drop HBO and Show Time and Phone. I wonder how they will justify the next increase?
This past week, out of 72 hours I spent at least 15 hours on the phone trying to get service for a router that was slowly dying. Last night is was an hour wait for a tech, then I get him, he puts me on hold for 2..5 hours...had to hang up wait another hour....needless to say it was a hot mess.

Had to call 3 times to change the service. the woman did not seem to know what she was doing.
Issue with my line, I called and waithing on line more than 1hr.
I am disabled + homebound. When my bill went up to $200, I called to lower my cost. The result? My bill increased to $300. I was switched to Altice and now the computer has a mind of its own. It freezes repetitively; I lost use of my printer,,, It has been a month since I've been calling for help. The recording says someone will call in 45+ minutes---so far no call back. I'm going to lose all connections, and will probably die within a week. No cell phone---can't call for food or meds when it happens. Bottom line: I only watch 2 channels for $300!!! One more word...Our government is too distracted by internal personality conflicts to insure the enforcement of laws, and our well-being.
Bill went up over 35% from previous month. Internet alone went up by $45, not doubt because everyone is dependent on internet during covid crisis. Bill is now close to $300/month for phone, slow internet and middle TV package. Wish we could get FIOS, but it is unavailable in the area. Charge of $11/month for regional sports...even though there isn't any! Very disgusted with them.
36 download speed....6 upload speed. what a joke
Have been their customer for 7 years. There was no other provider in my area. When I moved out wasn't able to pay my final bill even though I waited for the email or paper bill. After 2 months I got a collection letter requesting another full month payment. This is all happening during the Covid-19 closeouts.
Seldom have outages
PRICES GO UP , SERVICE AND WHAT YOU GET GOES DOWN. CASE IN POUINT PRICE WENT UP ,THEY TOOK AWAY GOLD PKG AND GAVE US PREMIER. WITH GOLD HAD ALL CHANNELS . NOW MY BILL WENT UP 20.00 SO IF I WANT WHAT I HAD IT WILL COST ME ANOTHER 25.00 JUST TO KEEP WHAT I HAD. NOW CABLE COSTS MORE THAN MY UTILITIES !!!!.
They always ripping the customers from installation to service and worst is customer service.

when you call you can't hear the person and understand what they are talking about and they don't help at all they just want more $$$$ for a bad service...
Customer service is no longer useful. Email was changed so user can not stop junk mail, this benifit$ company, no one can explain how to save new email to address book, what a joke this company has become. Was great, now junk.
Generally, everything works well. Occasionally, the TV connection goes down, but not for very long. Recently, the monthly cost of the bundled service spiked, so I'm looking into switching to Fios.
