Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Same service I had at much lower cost!

Connected two phones today with spectrum mobile. Helped by Brandi at the Albemarle office and she was excellent. Set up our phones, transferred all info and very pleasant. Spectrum mobile will be saving us around $50/month.

Service, customer service return

I had the service for less than 2 weeks. When talking on the phone, the person I was talking to could not understand me. I decided to cancel service and return the phone, which was returned in the same condition that I received it in. after speaking with customer service on the return, I received pictures of a damaged phone that they say I returned. There were no scratches on the phone when I put it in the Box. Now they're charging me for the damages. I am trying to contact BBB as well as the Attorney General's office and I can't find an address for spectrum mobile. They're awful!

High cost of data.

They might tell you that you can set a limit on your phone so that when you reach the 1 GB it will stop accessing mobile data. Not true. You get a warning but it blasts on through at $14/GB. You have to go to Setup, Connections and Data Usage then turn off Mobile Data to stop access to it. This will leave you with phone and basic texting when not on wifi. $49/phone for unlimited is highway robbery (stay with Verizon) and 1GB goes in a heartbeat.

The cell service sucks

Ive had spectrum mobile for a while now. I use my phone a lot for work. I cant even tell you how many drop calls I've had. You get what you pay for. Cheap.

service and coverage

My wife and I were using Straight Talk and were curious about the quality of spectrum mobile. We switched one phone over to Spectrum and after a few month found a lot of bugs in the coverage. I switched back to Straight Talk and the phone was back to normal. i am using iPhone SE. Because I switched back on the first day of a billing cycle they charged me $45 for the full month and would not refund any money!!! They over charge for their internet and now I get burned on there phone service.

Worst costumer service ever

I set up a phone for my daughter August I paid off for the phone she lost the phone in October since then to now January I keep calling to permanent disconnect the phone I went in to spectrum store they told me they cant do nothing i have to call they keep charging my card $28,00 every month and we don't have the phone everytime I call I been transferred to about 6 different person who say they will help and up to now I been on call for about 1 hour and still they can't do nothing but they know to set up the service and can't disconnect it and they will tell me how if I disconnect my card they will still bill me for what what I am not using .please never sign up for spectrum mobile never want cheap phone service go to metro pcs

I wish I would have read the reviews before leaving a very good provider to listen to a Spectrum sales rep. Who called me. Of course, I was promised a great experience. Unfortunately, just the opposite was the case. Don't make the same mistake I did. It’s not worth it!

Customer service

BEWARE!!! This company has roughly a 12% success record in satisfied customers. Its difficult to find this information because they flood the internet with "paid for reviews" or "partner" reputation protection companies giving false reviews. The guys border criminal activity with deception and taking your money. I have a small start up company and wanted to keep overhead down by getting a couple cell phones as "cost effectively" as possible... BIG MISTAKE. 1st off the 14 day "NO cost" return policy is ONLY if you do NOT open the box....if you do and find its the worlds biggest Piece of junk kiss your 1st $50 away. So right off the bat plan on loosing that money. however in my case Fedex's 2 day shipping is now on day 7 and it appears the package is lost. Although disappointed Fed ex lost the package they have at least made any offer possible to make up this mistake. However I have just spent another 1 hour and 22 minutes ON HOLD to just ask how to get a refund. I have had to call multiple times to see what the hold up has been and have never gotten through to a live person in under 30min. on Hold. NOW try adding service and those lines are FULLY staffed because that is where they run your Credit Card and that is the only "Customer Service" this company cares about!!! It has been a nightmare! to make a long story short. I ordered 2 phones and the service on 12-31-19 and was charged $143.76 that day.. it is now the 6th the phones were lost and Fed ex made there claim instantly. Spectrum "Thinks" they can refund my money by the end of the week.. Mean while the two business lines I was needing last week and paid for aren't available, I have spent a good 6-7 hours on hold calls with spectrum Cust. Service, waited from 8 a.m. -8 p.m. to sign for a package that never came, will be out at least 2 weeks on the $143.76 (If i can even get a refund and not the run around). ALL WHILE dealing with a Customer Service department who act as though THEY are the ones being put out by having to deal with their issues!!! Do your homework and save the headache, research the 4 and five star reviews you may find on line and see how they are "sponsored". Good Luck out there hope this helps.

Horrible network and customer service

Stay away!!!. I was sweet-talked to try their mobile service for a 14-day trial and was told I won't be charged. I tried it but their network was horrible so I canceled. To my surprise I was charged a $50 restocking fee after returning their phone. I called and complained but they said there's nothing they can do. They never even asked me why I canceled. It's like they cared more about keeping my $50 than helping a customer. I feel cheated.

No customer support they don't answer the phone

After I was told it would take 3 hours to activate my own phone I said forget it. When I tried to cancel the account and get a refund it was impossible. They refused to answer the phone-at all. I spent over 2 hours on hold and transferred to 7 people but the department that could refund me would not answer. I ended up cancelling my credit card so they couldn't keep billing me and refuting the charge with them.DON'T FALL FOR THEIR LIES

Great affordable service

I went to Spectrum Mobile after being a long-time Spectrum internet customer. I purchased 2 of the iPhone XRs along with unlimited plans. The upfront cost was a bit steep, however, the monthly rate works. The app allows me to see data, phone calls/text logs & just about everything I need. I'm more than satisfied!

Service is terrible can’t get it to work anywhere

It’s the worst internet I have ever had and I had dial up y’all!! This is ridiculous but u get what u pay for I see why they are soo cheap now

Stay a - Hidden fees and horrible customer service

I was sweet-talked to try their 14-day trial period and was told I could cancel and not be charged. The network was horrible, so I canceled. They lied and charged me $50 for restocking. I called to complain but they said there is nothing they can do. They did not even ask me why I wanted to cancel or try to convince me not to cancel. It's like all they cared about was holding on to my $50. I am cancelling all things Spectrum.

HORRIBLE!!!

This is by far the worst phone company I’ve ever dealt with. They lie to the customers. I talked to representative and supervisor after supervisor to try and get my sons phone deactivated. It took 2 weeks and 4 phone calls to the 1800 number to finally get someone to actually deactivate it! They are horrible! Whatever you do, don’t get service through them!

Customer Service wrong information all the time

This is the worst experience in my life, I really paid a very expensive price to make a mistake and switch from my old mobile phone Company to this terrible and cheater Company. I ordered two phones with a plan they offered me with a really tentative price, all was a lie, I had to suspended this service and return the phones, The phones were return in perfect condition. But no matter what, you always have to pay to them. Spectrum takes your money out from your pocket without your permission. They discount from my credit card $236, plus they never make me a refund for the first payment I made for the service that I never used and it was around $84.50. I am asking them to send me the phones back because at the end I am paying for them and I have the right to do whatever I want to do with the equipment, they said they will no return the equipment because that the policy ???????? and there is nothing to do against them? Be very careful to use this terrible company if you don't want to have a terrible headache and lose a lot of money.

Customer service

I have been on the phone (mostly on hold & being transferred to yet another department) for a total of 6 hours in the past 3 days trying to get my phone unlocked to transfer to another carrier. They STILL have not unlocked it even thought my balance is 0. They are so inept, I’m surprised they are still in business. Do NOT use this carrier!!!!

Cheap service

Horrible experience since the very beginning. We doubted whether we should trust Spectrum to improve on their customer service and we should have stuck with our doubts and stayed with our original carrier. They are not capable. We purchased 3 phones at the local store. The "system" told the clerk that the phones had to be shipped to our home from headquarters, even though 1 of the phones was in stock. We waited, and waited, and waited. Nearly 10 days later we received the phones. We returned 1 phone and deleted the line because our family member decided against Spectrum Service. We returned the phone. It was a nightmare from there. I would need to write a book to detail the insane amount of time on the phone and at the local store to get our account accurate. It has been 3 months and they sent a return label for the phone that they have had for 3 months and charged my account for this phone that THEY HAVE! We know it will be another long "on hold" phone call to get this straight. I tried logging into my account online to review the details but it is having difficulties and wont let me login. Wow! Run to the other phone companies, it is worth the extra money. We wish we never took that leap to trust Spectrum

False information about the trial period.

I would never recommend Spectrum Mobile. I was given totally false information about the trial period and was over charged on the name of restocking and other.
