Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

They lied to us

Me and my husband have two lines. We thought that once we switched from MetroPCS when we were paying $94 a month for unlimited everything data everything. Spectrum said that we would only be paying $48. Thinking unlimited data and everything we asked them they said yes unlimited data everything for only $48. We asked was just $48 plus tax they said no just Forty-Eight dollars. We finally received our galaxy A20 phones they look cute however it's not Unlimited because for two lines even though you're paying $48 a month you still have to pay money if you go over the gig that they give you. Mind you if you and your husband have two lines on one plan you both are sharing the gigs . That was not explain to us. So now we wanted to leave Spectrum but if we leave and go back to Metro PCS we will be paying $229 for each phone. And they will deduct it from your account if you want $20 a month. Now they explain to us if we want unlimited which we thought we was getting in the beginning we would have to pay $45 per phone which is $90 plus $10 for something else which would equal $110 a month. Why would I want to pay more when I was paying less with MetroPCS. They didn't send us any kind of disclaimer explaining anything they didn't tell us until we spoke to a representative again who told us that if we sent the phones back in 14 days we wouldn't have to pay anything. Nobody told us that they didn't send any kind of disclaimer with the phones we didn't sign anything so they could tell you whatever they want and it's like you're trapped. I didn't sign no contract but now they're telling me that I have to pay $229 per phone if we want out this is a fraud and it's a scam. Be careful they are fast talkers and will try to Swindle you Hours for Metro PCS for 7 years never had a problem with receiving unlimited service. I would have never left MetroPCS had I known this. I asked all the questions before I switched now it's something totally different. run and stay away from Spectrum mobile.

they have no customer service

they sold me over priced defective phone that supposed to be unlocked but i cant use it with other company customer service told me the new provider should help me

EVERYTHING

i was offered an a10e galaxy as part of a package deal, it was given to me as something i had to take - i wasn't asked what i wanted. I had not done well with a smart phone before but I wanted to try again. The phone never worked right and I kept assuming it was because I was dumb. Finally after 3 months one of the reps said it was the phone and suggested I try the Iphone7. I ordered 'rosegold' they sent me black. I returned it and they sent me a rosegold phone that didn';t work. They took it back and promised me they's send me a new Iphone7 that was 'a better type, really good' I wanted to transfer my old number but forgot to ask, when I asked the next day at the store the girl said all they had to do was use the sim card from my old phone - that sounded wrong to me so I said no and went home and called their customer abuse people One told me I was right and another told me I was wrong and she would make sure the person she transferred me to knew that they shouldn't do that. I had to call again to complete the process and that person said sim cards could be switched and the other customer abuse person shouldn't have told me it couldn't. Trying to get my old number has been a nightmare and now neither phones work. I have to go back to the customer abusepeople in the store because trying to do anything on the phone is impossible You can't get the same person twice they tell you different stories and say they will 'send you up the line' and someone will call you and they don't. I just finished crying with frustration. I'm going back to my flip phone and Verizon. I am so angry that I never got the proper help so I could have an Iphone. I know I'm not stupid but I still feel like a failure and i really hate that company. This has been the worst 6 months of my life. I've been made to feel inferior by people who lie and are incompetent and work for a company who has no integrity or moral compass.

Have to enter PIN # to retrieve VM

I CANNOT tolerate this horrid user unfriendly service. Caller to my phone waits 36 seconds before transfer to voicemail. Most of my callers hang up assuming no one is going to answer. While driving and connected via Bluetooth to Ford Sync 3 one has to manually enter a PIN before one can listed to messages. How can one safely enter a PIN manually while driving at highway speeds. This is a fatal waiting to happen and Spectrum should be ashamed. When I asked tech support for help they told me none of these parameters can be changed. Horrid service and lousy customer support.

Phone warranty

At the time I had to buy their $600 Galaxy S8. Started having problems with the charger, the local stores don't fix them, Spectrum said they would do a "Warranty Exchange". There is no warranty, no repair, just a bill for a "new" $600 S8 which by now is worth $250. They suck as bad as Charter. Bring your own phone and you should be ok, but they lie, cheat, and steal on the phones they sell. Call the BBB like I did to report them when they screw you over.

Customer service

very rude, unprofessional and unhelpful phone agents ever, they will make wait for ever to talk to a supervisor and then you'll find out that the supervisor is same like the agents, I placed a complaint and they gave me a number to follow up, called and after more than an hour they told me that this is internal and they can't provide me with any follow up info

Customer service

To much to tell. In summary: my first and only month of spectrum mobile cost me OVER $700.00. I cannot talk with a leader. I spoke with two supervisors who both followed a scripted reply to a t and only wanted to give excuses and never look into the issue. One rep would tell me one thing and the next rep would tell me the opposite. For example,I've tried for 3 weeks to activate a phone to replace the horrible LG K40. I was told they would send me a simm card... Once I finally received the simm card and activated it, it activated a new line... I've been trying for two weeks to shut the unwanted line off and move my number from the horrible phone to a new one.... Only to be told that all i have to do is switch the simm cards. When i spoke to the supervisor, I started to express my frustration of waiting so long for a simm card to learn all i had to do was swap them... He told me they don't recommend simm cards be swapped..... Ugh... And now i can't return the phone because i didn't send it in right away... He argue that i should have just sent the phone in even if I didn't receive the simm card.... How would i be able to call them to tell them I haven't received the simm? So dumb. I'm looking into Vision now. Who's with me? No speed caps and unlimited everything.... But i need to check their reviews. I May have to go back to Verizon.... But W.E.

You get what you pay for

They don't tell you when you sign up for service that it is only autopsy only. That doesn't work for me because my bill us due the 6th if each month, I don't receive my pension till the first business day of the month, usually the 1st or 2nd, I call in at that time and make a payment by phone. I received my check on Feb 2nd and called Spectrum and made a payment which immediately showed on my account as pending, on Feb 5th another payment was removed (I have never consented to Spectrum having access to my bank account) from my account for $24, both payments cleared my bank on the 7th of February. I have called 8 times and am told the never received the payment on the 2nd and am basically out of luck. I have to file a dispute with my bank which will take 8-10 weeks while I continue to make payments to Spectrum. You know what horrible service cable companies give you, do you really want them handling your phone?

Great service for good price. I got a phone I love

Great so far. I love my phone which they financed when I couldn't get anywhere else.

False Advertising and Holding back Info at sign up

I signed up with Spectrum Mobile over the telephone, the plan went in my mothers name but I pay for it. Since I signed up my Mother passed away and I closed out her account because we sold the house and moved, all I wanted was to have the phone transferred into my name under my spectrum cable account, it's been nothing but chaos to get this done, I received a call today saying I had to return the phone and buy a new one, just to have the name changed on the account. Hence the false advertising on TV, saying you can bring your phone with you (I even bought the phone from them), so I went to Verizon to see if I could get a decent phone and plan with them and they said that unless I was with Spectrum for more than 6 months I could not import my telephone number into one of their phones. Hence the lack of information when I signed up because I was never told that little detail. Spectrum cable and internet are fine but their Mobile business really leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I had looked at the reviews before I signed up for it.

Representatives Knowledge

I called Spectrum Mobile to pay off my mobile device in FULL. I was advised I would have to wait 20 days(half of a calendar month) to have my device unlocked but my money would be in. Spectrum Mobile is ONLY autopay so as the Representative stated no modifications can be made on account at all. I was trying to pay in monthly bill and device in FULL so I can get away from spectrum mobile and the not so well trained or should I say knowledgeable representative. Every time you call for assistance your told different things and you’re left confused

Signal and price

We had AT&T. Horrible 1 bar signal at our home. Switched to spectrum mobile and instantly went to 4 full bars and no dropped calls. Even better- saving $100 a month. We transferred our own iPhones. We are very happy we switched.

They all say I'm so sorry and continue to lie

They dangled a new iPhone 11 with unlimited data, talk and text in front of me for about $70. My Verizon bill with my old phone paid already paid for was running $70. I made them assure me I would walk out with my same tel. number and it would be working. Here I am 24 hrs later and they just told me it would take a tier3 rep to fix the problem. Problem you ask? No cell service for 30 hrs now and it will take another 72 hours. This is my biz phone. They demanded a number they could call me on to update me! Hey pal, fix it and call me on this $700 phone you just sold me. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER EVER USE ANOTHER SERVICE FROM CHARTER/SPECTRUM ...EVEN IF IT IS F#$%^NG FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

lier and cheating

I was told if anything goes wrong, I have 30 days to return the phone, cost 50.00 for restocking fee. I returned the phone in 3 days. They charged on my card not only 50.00 but 220.00 for damaged the phone didn't say what damage. Of course nothing was damage, they just cheating my money. Please dont ever start. Not a good service.

They are Spectrum, nuff said

Frankly I've never used Spectrum Mobile. However, I use Spectrum's internet services, and I can confirm that I had the same experience as all of the reviews here with sales reps and CS reps. They bombarded me many times a week with sales calls, mail, and email trying to convince me to try one of their "free trials". Finally I relented and said I'd try it. Big mistake. Once these people get you sold on something they make it as painful and agonizing a process as they can to cancel it. It took me about 4 hours of phone calls and being transferred to probably 7 different people, who each were "the wrong department" to handle it, before I was finally able to force them to cancel this extra service after the free trial had ended. But that's not all! Oh no, three days after I had canceled, I got another sales call from a new number, trying to sell me the service I had just canceled. I told them exactly that, and they asked why? I told them I didn't need it and I was just trying it out, and they proceeded to talk over me about all the benefits and great features Spectrum TV had. I said yeah, I'm sure it's great, and they cut me off and said "Great, I'll sign you back up! Have a great day!" and hung up on me. Took me another 4 hours with 3-5 more CS reps to cancel a second time, and I told them I wouldn't feel even a little bad about hanging up on their sales reps from then on, and that if I had any other option for non-satellite internet, I would have canceled my entire service that day. In fact I have since considered downgrading to living off my mobile hotspot, simply to spite Spectrum for this.

Save money on plans

I read all the negative reviews and was skeptical about changing from Verizon to Spectrum Mobile. However, I did my research on how it works and why they're cheaper and decided to take the plunge. I had to get a new phone, but I was needing to get a new phone anyway. I got the Samsung A20 in case I didn't like Spectrum Mobile it would be easier to pay off a cheaper phone. I got the phone and setup was easy, getting things switched from the old phone was very easy and off I went. They use Verizon towers, so I already knew where my old phone worked and where it didn't. I tested my phone in different places and some that I know for a fact that AT&T doesn't work but Verizon does work. Guess what.......Spectrum Mobile worked fine for me. The only time I talked to customer service was when I needed questions answered about the service. I had no issues contacting them and it took me an hour before I ran out of questions. The salesman was courteous and answered all questions, not worried about how long we were on the phone. I kept apologizing for so many questions and his response was basically no worries, that's what I'm here for. I was a tough sell, but I've been with them for a month on the 1G plan, because he didn't try to oversell and give me more than I needed. The app works fine, and I can see how much I owe on the phone, how much data I used and I also get notifications. I get an email telling me when my payment will be processed so communication has been good. Spectrum Mobile may not be for everyone, and some people don't do their research, but Spectrum Mobile has been a great change for me. I love the money that I save monthly too.

Everything.

I had 3 lines for $90 and everything unlimited with my previous carrier. I called spectrum regarding lowering my internet services and the sales rep sold me a deal for 3 new phones, unlimited everything, and internet for 156.50 a month and I asked him several times if this will be my monthly price and he said yes. Well nothing is unlimited and its $14 per gig. Spend several days w customer service who kept transferring me back and forth between departments then I finally got to talk to a manager and I arranged to send all the phones back with no charge. However, now they are claiming that there were damages on one of the phones and stole $280. I cant believe they are such liars to their long time customers and don't even care. Bottom line is no one goes from everything unlimited to being limited to everything you do on your phone. Their whole mobile spectrum is BS and so is their sales and supervisor. I hope they all get sued and shut down.

Everything

I switch to Spectrum because of the price they offered, however, I couldn't used the phone I had so I end up buying a phone from their company a Galaxy 8s and made payments until last month, then I decided to pay the balance so that I could go to another mobile company. When I paid the phone in full they told me that within 5 biz days I would be receiving and email with the unlocked code so that I can switch servers, when I finally got the code I visit two different companies and to my surprise the code didn't work, so I called the customer service and they apologized and they told me that I was supposed get an unfreeze code as well and the lady I spoke with provided the code. Then, I went back the mobile provider and the codes didn't work, so I called back and told me that whatever happen was not true, but that they would escalate my situation to their manager. I have talked to 5 people and they have not been able to resolve the issue, first my phone number is still locked with Spectrum and according to them the solution is for my to buy a sim card from another company and the new company has to submit a ticket requesting the phone number to be release to their network and this process could take 24 hours, then I am suppose to be the one imputing the unlocked code and the unfreeze code so the phone works. I explained to them that I have been with various mobile companies and that is not they way they do it, their answer was "we apologized you have to take those extra steps." Now I have a phone but can't even switch companies risking loosing my phone number which I have had for 10 years.

NEVER GOT ANY DATA CONNECTION

WE SWITCHED FROM FLASH WIRELESS FOR A PRICE CUT AND MORE DATA, HOT SPOTS ON BOTH PHONES. NEVER WORKED. ONE APPLE PHONE WORKS, THE GALAXY S8 NEVER GOT ANY DATA CONNECTION. THEY WILL NOT RELEASE THE NUMBER SO I CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I HAVE A BUSINESS TO RUN AND CANNOT PUT UP WITH THIS! I AM READY TO WRING SOMEONE'S NECK!

EVERYTHING!!!!!

was lied to about getting a 5g capable phone, was lied to about monthly bill, get the phone and its horrible, bring it back to the store, past 14 days, although you have to be at the house when they ship it, i didnt get the phone until 10 days after it was shipped, which was 3 days after it was ordered, now im stuck with a pos phone and a bill that is never the same from month to month!! RUN FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
