Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Spectrum's customer service is unbelievably bad. I have been trying for a week to buy a phone and start service, and it feels like they are actively trying to stop me from spending money with them. I have spoken to 5-6 associates, all of whom were friendly, none of whom did anything to help me accomplish the basic task (buy a phone/start new service) I was trying to accomplish. Just recently got an e-mail that my order had been cancelled an hour after I got off the phone with an associate who assured me that the order was proceeding with no problems. Ridiculous!

Dont tell you that you pay $20 or more if you cancel internet with them, cant cancel or get phone unlocked before 60 days of service.this is all new news after they sign you up. They are not upfront with you then tell you that you could have read the rules online! BeWARE!

March 19 2020 I was switching my Internet service to my new home, while doing that service rep talked me onto switching my mobile service to Spectrum. So my phone was delivered by FedEx . I got ready to charge the to get everything transferred over. It was saying on the screen no sim card. I called and ask Tech support and told them there was no sim card. I went ahead and drove 20mins to the nearest Spectrum store. They put one in there got back set everything up..the phone is compatible to the bluetooth in my car. I people sincing their phones to it...it worked but the Samsung A10 that I have just wouldn't work. The video chat doesn't work...no one can see me a lot of times my phone calls are choppy no one can hear me. 3 weeks ago I tried to returned the phone to get another one but I didn't have the money with this pandemic I'm only working a few days a week. On 4/13 I contacted Tech support and explained everything to them I was transferred to a young lady that I thought had helped me she got all my information and said that an upgraded phone would be sent out by FedEx and to call back when it arrived so they activate it. Today is 4/17 and I called to ask about my order..no one knows anything no record of it. I'm just so fed up with Spectrum right now..it's like they didn't want be bothered with me so they just pretend to place the order to get me off the phone. I'm an older lady and don't know a lot about phones. I just feel like I'm stuck with a bad phone and if I have the service turned off I will have to pay like $400 or $500 for the phone. I haven't been working don't have the money to get ANOTHER phone for older people buyer beware because Spectrum will take advantage of you.

I have never had such a horrible experience with a cell phone company. I feel sorry for the employees as it is the company that ties their hands. If one of the goals of board of directors when they started this company was to be the worst cell phone company on the planet, they have succeeded spectacularly. The service itself is good, but that's because it is using Verizon towers and they can't screw that up. I will tell everyone I know to never, ever, ever, even consider service with this company

Terrible service!!

Everything! lies and NO customer service

Worst experience with phone or cable company in my life. Lied to me about equipment and service. When they came to install TV and internet nothing was as promised. I foolishly fell for their line about being a Verizon partner and being able to get same service for lots less $$. tried to cancel and send phone back but was told it was past 14 days although I only had the phone for 5 days. Went ahead and paid for phone to use with Verizon but could not get them to unlock for almost 90 days, only to learn it was NOT compatible with Verizon so I now have a useless phone that has cost me hundreds of $$ and is useless. Awful customer service and belligerent reps refused to forward me to supervisors. I intend to file a lawsuit in small claims court and will try to join one of the four class actions against this useless company.

Worst company in time of need!!!!

This company is never willing to help anyone . We all are in time in need with what’s going on now . They refuse to help and want money that you don’t have due to lost job of the COV-19. Never do they have answers and supervisors say off the wall things . How do people like that have jobs ?!?! Can’t wait to be done with this company. My advice is do not sign on with this company you will have the worst experience ever!!! I’m sure they don’t even read these bad reviews cause they are a worthless uncaring company !!!

Great Service

Great coverage, fast Data no issues with that. I did have some issues switching from VZW to Spectrum. Since Spectrum is a 3rd party seller that caused some issues. My other calls to Customer Service was not great, but the bill and coverage is better. Overall, Spectrum Mobile is a great cell provider. Few issues, but they all have them.

Liers, liers, liers, liers, liers

Since Oct 2019 I have been dealing with stopping the services and paying the balance of the phone. Finally on 3/28/20 I paid $179.79 and received the unlocked information. Few days later I received text on the charges for 4/26/20. I am fed up since you told them something and they say you did not. They argued because their notes "do not say what you are telling them". What a frustration! I have spoken to them in both english and spanish, same results, is not me... Just today I have been on the phone for over two hours. The first call was 1 hour 22 minutes. I am on the second call because they call me back and I have been waiting for around 38 minutes. I think they do it on purpose...Anyway, if you want good service Spectrum is not the right choice.

I received my phone only to find out they could not activate it. Returned phone to local store who refused to accept it. Absolute worse customer service ever, apathy is rampant

Love the Price!

I like that they have a 1 GIG plan for $14 a month. I'm in 3 weeks now and have used .4gig of my 1 gig plan. I'm saving allot over my T-Mobile bill I was paying $65 a month for, and only using 1 gig or less a month with them.

Dishonest, corrupt & absolutely no integrity!

Had phone for 3 days, returned it, was charged $400 for supposed scratches, would not let me purchase phone for balace owed. It's a scam, said they only return phones that they cannot refurbish. It's time for a class action suit.

We switched to Spectrum after years with US cellular. Found them to have no hidden fees, great service, and fantastic customer service. If we have problems we call, be polite and courteous to the reps and they are polite in return. Better service than their internet reps. Very happy with their mobile

Sounds like a lot of you are ghetto that dont read the fine print. You are all complaining about stuff that is CLEARLY written. If you spend your day streaming data you WILL pay for it. You are not a victim. Get yourselves a wifi connection and stop buying crap phones.

It works, and for much less than my old plan.

Although the product itself is OK, getting it set up can be a problem. The BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) can be a nightmare, but it all depends on your support experience. I had five initial encounters in which the representatives each swore I had to create a new account with a new phone number, then transfer my old number to it, to replace my phone with a newer one. Finally I got Brian, who fixed everything during the single call, and my new phone has worked perfectly since. The most challenging thing working with Spectrum Mobile is the extremely wide variation in training and attitude between the call center employees. If they could fix that one issue, I'd give them the fifth star.

These guys are crooks and incompetent.

When I initially signed up it seemed like a good idea. I take part in an address confidentiality program discussed heavily how important it was to not have anything sent to my actual physical address have them all the information. They basically did a “fuck your life” and sent mail to my physical address. What you people fail to understand is that companies sell our information for profit i.e the postal service does this. They knew full well my life and my kids were at risk. They even went as far as lying to say I can pick it up the chip at a location where the package was sent-THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Sent it to my physical address. I tried to use it and it never worked in my phone. A week or so after customer service calls and asks how I’m liking the service I specifically stated that I’m not using it and need it cancelled that I’m sticking with TMobile. That was in February. It is now almost April I repeatedly tried getting a hold of someone from there but they weren’t available. Finally a few days ago I wrote to customer service to explain that I’ve never used their service that I’ve only been using TMobile and that they need to stop trying to bill me. Well, the ass holes sent me a text notification stating that I’m now enrolled in Spectrum Mobile autopay!!!!!!! I never set such shit up! Fuck you and your fake ass company!
