Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

shit device selection

they only accept the newest most fragile pos devices on their network. No Motorola's what so ever.

Hidden everything

I Signed up at 45 bucks a month, ok cool everything is going fine, well I move so I don’t need my cable and internet anymore cause the person I moved in with has it. So my bill goes to 65 a month( they never mention that this would happen) but here is the best part I went to upgrade my phone and you can’t upgrade unless you have internet and cable!!! So I have to cancel and go back to Verizon or whoever to get a new phone .. what a joke

Poor customer service

I couldn't get an agent to help change/correct my ATM card on file. They told me it's my bank that stopping the payment. This went on for 2 weeks. The mobile service doesn't have a store front so you're stuck on the phone on hold. I made several attempts online to correct my payment card. Then I found they entered the wrong zip code and it was the reason that I couldn't correct/update my ATM card. I finally spoke to a great agent named Randy, he was listening and actually showed an interest in helping me. The other agents dismissed me and told me that they couldn't do anything.

Customer Support

I tried to go cheap and buy a low end phone. I should have known better...my bad. I called Spectrum to upgrade to a better phone. They told me that I would have to drive about and hour and a half to one of their stores that did trade-ins. (They have a store about two miles from my home, but they are not allowed to do trade-ins. So I attempted to call the remote store in an effort to determine if they had the phone I wanted in stock before I made the trip. You can not talk to any Spectrum store by phone!!! Worse, their customer support folks can't either. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!! I asked the polite young lady if there was some sort of workaround and she said regretfully: NO! I said: well I guess I will just go back to Verizon and she agreed that was probably my best choice. She was clearly frustrated that she couldn't talk to the store or handle my issue...She will probably move on to a more customer-centric company, just like I am.

Can't get a hold of anyone!?!

Upgraded phone and switched to Spectrum. Now I can't activate new phone and old phone has been shut off.

They are the scum of the earth

I was told that the phone was bigger than the one I had . I sent the phone back in the same package I was 62 live alone don’t use the phone often. They sent a picture of a phone can’t tell who phone but I swear the phone I sent back I had two weeks I am still going to the BBB they need to be stopped

Ordered a new phone to switch service from Verizon

They said my phone was not compatible with spectrum and I had to buy a new phone. Drove 60 miles to exchange phone, got there and they were closed PERMANENTLY. Finally they mailed it, and called to set new service which was only 1G at price quoted, but for more $ they would upgrade. Decided to return phone IMMEDIATELY, and in doing so, spectrum said the phone was scratched and damaged. I never took it out of the packaging. They charged my card $151 for damages and the fight is on. NOT reputable, customer service people are nasty, not helpful. Should have bought at Costco. DO NOT recommend their service.

Everything. Shitty company. Rip off

Working with these people has been an absolute horrid experience. They are incompetent. They don't care. Everyone tells you something different. They pass you around on the phone like hop potatoe. Sales people are sharks just looking to make commissions. Worst mobile services I have every experienced. Just to cancel has been a nightmare and they are still charging things to my account.

The price

I brought two existing phones over to Spectrum Mobile with no problems. The price is incredible, $28 a month for 2 gigs, and the service is just as good as Verizon was. We are saving a ton of money each month. And, when traveling out of country the prices are a fraction of what Verizon used to charge us.

Lies about phone bills.

Before moving from Riverside, California, I had Charter/Spectrum for 15 years, very happy with them. I moved this year to Central ,California. I asked about keeping the mobile service when I returned my equipment and was told , even though Spectrum was not in my area, I could keep my service the same at $45. Low and behold, first bill was $45. Then I was hit with a $65 bill. I chose to go to a local Verizon. Now, I get another bill 20 days later. $65. I called Spectrum customer service, was told it was a final bill that was already done. A VERY rude customer service LADY, told me that was the final bill and could she do anything else. I told her they cheated me and she hung up. So, for 10 days service, they charged me a month. Terrible. I had always recommended Spectrum highly. Never again.

Transparency, customer service..

Their customer service is awful and the phone hasn't worked since the day I bought it. I spent 5 hours on the phone with a customer service representative trying to figure out the problem and when we couldn't she told me there was nothing they could do about it they would have to pass me over to Samsung to deal with the phone. Crystal at the Osage Beach branch has the worst customer service representative on planet Earth.

I ordered an iphone 11 absolutely love it and the service that I am receiving.

My son has done well with it for 2 years.

Liars, cheats & thieves - blackmailed into keeping

Was lied to during the sales process. A LOT OF LIES, Then spent 1.5 hours on the phone trying to find out where the phone was and why it wasnt being delivered on Saturday as promised. Then told I had to be home to sign for phone. Then when it finally arrive, nobody signed for it. I was to be charged a $50 restocking fee because I opened the box. If I want to keep the phone, 2 months of service and phone paid in full otherwise they wont unlock it. I have their internet and TV as well ( BTW no discount for getting the mobile) I will be looking at alternative options for all services... AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS REVIEW IT ASKED "HOW HUMAN ARE YOU", WELL APPARENTLY I AM MORE HUMAN THAN ANY OF YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE.

A bunch of cheats

I called Spectrum the same day that I got my taxes due to being behind on some payments. I knew I would be able to pay off what I was due for and be back to my regular payments. They told me the payment went through and that I was good. Some weeks go by and I wake up to my phone being off. I initially called to get an extension due to my check coming that following Friday, they proceed to ask me about the payment made and I pulled up the payment information to confirm that I did in fact make a payment, only to find out that they have made 7 different transactions from my card. They were the initial charges for the phone but they took it out in separate charges instead of one big lump like we had agreed. (strike 1) He then proceeds to tell me that due to my account being inactive I now have to pay for the phone in full plus some other fees that they added. (strike 2) I'm like ok so because you have a worker on the phone who did not do his job properly I now have to figure out where I'm going to get $500+ by June 10th or my phone will be shut off. I'm not going to be able to pay that all for a phone. They don't offer payment plans or anything, so you have to pay in full. We have a pandemic going on that is messing with people's jobs by cutting hours, and that's if you're still working at all. This is an absolute outrage and I'm FURIOUS. Spectrum you are a bunch of CON ARTIST.

Dropped calls are the norm

Calls drop ALL the time. When I really need a reliable connection, I use my land line.

The shit hole is the worst you can ever switch to.

IT’S TOOO SLOWWWW and it doesn’t show the phone prices I was on here for an hour and still can’t find the price and also the search bar sucks it doesn’t WORK!! And I tired to use it and it won’t search what kinda of website is the shit hole. AT&T is the the best one I have had ever and fast and easy!

NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH!!

We switched from Verizon to Spectrum for our daughter. She had a 1 year old iphone. We paid for a new phone in FULL with Spectrum. They had us send them her (1) year old iphone back to them for credit. Well, I've called twice now to see where our check was for the phone we sent. We've got different stories each time. I'm on hold now with them and I have had to PROVE to them that it was shipped and Delivered to them. I ( thank GOD) still had a tracking number as they told me they NEVER got the phone!!!! I track it myself and it was delivered on 2/24/20 at 1:35pm. Today is 4/24/20 and they still have no answer for me. WTH. I will NEVER Ever recommend this to anyone. If they would let me, I would CANCEL my daughters phone and get a FULL refund for the one she has now! Terrible experience!!
