Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Terrible service, constant dropped calls

I drop every other call. Had Verizon for years in the same location, never a problem.

They told us it ran off verizon data its a lie

i was told by spectrum it was ran off verizon data towers but it is not. The mobile data is the worst I have ever had. It will not play a video on youtube even at low quality. The internet speed is a scam. It is not 5G im a truck driver I have not been able to stream a video anywhere in the country. StraightTalk from Walmart was 10X faster than spectrum. Its the worst on the market. It is a scam

Switched to Spectrum. I was told they were a Verizon partner. Ended up paying for two services for the same number. Customer service agent was snotty and refused to refund my money. I've filed a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back.

No one gives all the information correctly

There is no way to compare apples to apples. Verizon has additional features which are often not necessary like VPN, CALL FILTER, ENHANCED VM. Spectrum mobile does not have those but if you research you find that their VM does offer some enhanced features like Voice Message sent as text. But there is no antivirus offered or installed which I was told came with the phone. Most people tell you that you do not need VPN. Some at SPECTRUM mobile tell you to contact Samsung. When you transfer the service with an existing number they tell you to get the account number and the pin. Well Verizon has a securty PIN. but that is not what Spectrum means. No place do they tell you to contact the other carrier to get a 6 digit PIN. and Spectrum told me last night that Verizon was closed, but it was only 5pm on the west coast, and they were open and i got the 6 digit pin to transfer service. So the overall experience is that all the hype about comparing services of two carriers cannot actually be compared because they are really only talking about the plan and the phone. So bottom line for my phone and the things that I want. Verizon would have been about 152 a month. and Spectrum is 110 but then if you want to add some of the other features it is another 20 dollars or more. so you are at 130 to 132. so it is a savings of 20 dollars per month which is good. ANd since all the Verizon stores are closed where i live. Meaning closed and no longer there, everything is about calling, waiting on hold and getting 10 different people with 12 different answers that should be clearly spelled out to them with an on screen answer that someone offered everyone in the company.

Misinformation

I switched to Spectrum Mobile from T-mobile, who I love. I inquired about a 5G phone. Originally I was reassured that I would be able to keep my old number. Long story short, they lied. I had to get a new number because they said my old number was 4G and I needed a 5G number. I went with it. But, they didn't mention that I don't live in an area where 5G is even available. With T-mobile I atleast got 4G. With Spectrum, all I see is "Ltz". So, I'm stuck with a phone that I didn't want with 5G that I cannot use.

Not honoring what they say

My husband and I switched to Spectrum Mobile and ordered each of us a new phone. I do not like the phone I received but was told I had 14 days to return it. I spent several hours several days trying to reach someone. I was then told by Spectrum I could go to the Farragut office to exchange it. We drove an hour to Farragut office only to be told they could not do it I would have to call Spectrum Mobile. After spending several hours in phone on hold I was told I was denied. Phone was ordered Aug 19th. Phone was shipped Aug 20 and arrived Aug 24. The 14 days to exchange phone started on day ordered NOT day received so all of the hours I spent trying to reach someone and the trip to Farragut pushed me 1 day behind to exchange phone! I was turned down!! The other thing I was not told up front was that if I could have exchanged the phone there would be a $50 restocking fee! This is the worst service and I hate this phone!! It does not work well at all!!

4 days with service and try to return phone, charge a 50 dollar restock fee, and the kicker to that return, must be back to them within 14 days from their shipping date. 3 and 1/2 hours of run around and in the end, got stuck with the phone paid in full. you suck big ones spectrum. thanks for the lack of everything

Low price

PROS -Cost effective -Decent cell service -Friendly customer service agents CONS -When signing up for service, I had to go to the store multiple times to get fully set up. -I was not offered the choice of where I wanted my phone mailed to. -I was not offered a choice of what color I wanted my phone to be. -I thought I would have one bill with my cable/mobile but that is not the case. I have two bills, two log ins. -I was not told that I was REQUIRED to stay on automatic payments. Had I known about the required auto pay, I would not have signed up for their service. -I do think I have more dropped calls now than I had before, but I also went to a lesser quality phone, so it could be the phone itself. OVERALL I was happier with T-mobile. But the cost was just too high. Spectrum is what I can afford right now. It hasn't been the worst experience, but I'm looking forward to finding work again and being able to afford a more established and flexible mobile service.

Horrible experience. My blood pressure finally came down to normal after I dumped this terrible service and switched to Verizon

Worst customer service. Very dishonest

Everything was all good until when I had an issue with the phone or service, and you call customer service every time you talk with someone who told you a different thing, and the dishonesty pretty much continued until I gave up. I had an IPHONE 10 which I had insurance on and payed monthly. Well when the phone broke, I submitted an insurance claim that the insurance company refused to cover because of a mistake on the policy that spectrum had made. They kept saying they where trying to fix this issue so the phone could be covered, but never did. Every time I called I was told something else to the reason why the issue had not been resolved yet and that they where still working on it. I was without a phone for a month and a half while this was going on and after I couldn’t take it anymore, I decided to leave spectrum. Switched to Verizon, and am happy now. Except for the fact I just realized spectrum was still charging me monthly for this broken phone that they where never able to cover. Just called their customer service and got that same run of the mill bullshit experience the caused me to run for the hills. “Just escalated this to management and you will be called tomorrow when they review your case” this is what I was told except I am used to this phrase and I know nothing is happening. If you don’t want constant headache don’t sign up for spectrum mobile. Worst decision of my life

Charge 30 for upgrade to unlimited but never give.

Awful. They charged me 3 times to upgrade me to unlimited never did. Said they would give me 25 off my bill for 3 months never did. Refunded me the 30 but took it again. When I got my phone never offered insurance and called back to get it they would let me. F#$@ that company.

Service sucks

Topped calls, poor signal, never more than 2 bars and I was told they had good service. They blatantly lied. I switched from Verizon and there is no way they’re using their towers because I NEVER had problems with my service. I’ve only been with Spectrum Mobile for 1.5 months and I’m leaving today.

sneaky underhanded people.

Never took the service and they went ahead and pulled a background check and credit check on me then sent me a letter saying I didn't qualify for a cheaper rate. I never told them to nor did I connect with them.

Bad mobile coverage

I received my mobile equipment and 3 days after i sent them the equipment in perfect and working condition. I was unhappy with their charges on my mobile plan. 2 days ago i received an email, they charged the full prive of the mobile (250$) and restocking fee (50$) about 355$ because they said the phone was in bad condition. Thats sucks

Haven’t received a paper bill in a year! Moved from Asheville to take care of relative. Closed internet/cable acct but kept mo Ike phone. But by closing acct I wasn’t able to access online payments. I haven’t received a bill in over a year. Call monthly but recently was threatened with disconnection because debit card change — but unable to access account online. Want to close acct but now will lose phone. Umber of 20 years because I originally couldn’t give them debit card number from 15 mos ago. Found number but have now spent 4 hours trying to get someone to give me pin so I can go to Verizon. Guess I will get new phone number. They keep switching me from cable/internet service but then they say they can’t help and put me back wit mobile customer service. No bill in a year. Illegal? These people are assholes. They took plenty of my money. Looks like I get a new phone number. Spectrum sucks!!!!!! Would give a zero if I could.

Employee key stroke cost $$$$$

We wanted to switch for financial reasons. Now I have a new phone that doesn't work. Like a bad ex they won't let my phone go,even though paid off completely. Chris has a doctorate in stupid. Natasha is a crime lord, seems like a bad movie thanks for nothing and not helping resolve the problem. One word. DON'T. WORTHLESS. IDIOTS.

Their representatives are slightly below idiotic. You ask for a complete price on two phones with unlimited data and the payment for a new phone, and they give you a price which sounds too good to be true...100.00 no taxes no fees no contracts.... Then you get your bill or see your data you have used online and it is nothing that you asked for. Then they straight lie when you pay your phone completely off then end up locking your phone for 60 days.... I will go back to a rotary phone before I do anything kind of mobile service with these incompetent people. Pay the extra money and stay with Who you are with
