Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Horrible Service

Calls constantly break up even though they claim it’s on the Verizon network. The catch is spectrum mobile users get the left over junk. Stay away from Spectrum Mobile. Pure junk

Am up to 210 hours of dealing with them.

Phone was locked from the night our door to door salesman a week after the new phones arrived ($700 ea) arrived, and he tried to get it to work. We were told we would be getting $100 off of each phone/ now find out from billing this was NOT TRUE at all. At the time there was NO BUY BACK YOUR OLD PHONE PLAN IN EXISTENCE/ so he was not telling the truth. This was told to me by an Allison in billing. Neither the Spectrum Store nor Apple Support was able to do anything to "unlock" the phone of mine. Now after 210 hours of being on the phone with them or at the store or with Apple support I was told to mail the phone in to Ft. Worth with the stamp they provided and because of all the glitches Spectrum itself would send out a new phone. They never did. It has been almost 5 weeks. It is ALL I HAVE DONE for 5 weeks. I have done everything they said to do/ mailed it off it, and paid even extra in the lovely box of the Apple Pro 11 with untouched ear buds and cord, and one week later they erroneously sent just the phone back to me, so poorly "wrapped" with no support it could have easily just broken in the box upon opening. Nothing else came back, even though I spent $14 having the lovely Apple box bubble wrapped in a Fed Ex box to it would arrive safely to them. They never saw an email NOT TO RETURN IT to me. They decided to TERMINATE everything all on their own and give me no other options. They then insisted I HURRY and rush it back to them.....I am in a wheelchair.......wow...bossing around someone who is disabled, right? NOT GOOD. So within 1 1/2 hrs. had it boxed up again for Fort Worth. Then, I am assessed $50 restocking fee! Really? They are suppose to do something about that, but I am up to 1 1/2 hrs. of waiting time to try to get someone in billing to see if this was really reversed this last Tuesday. Also the $14 I spent sending it back to them the first time is suppose to be refunded.....LOL....we will see. I NEVER WANT A CELL PHONE FROM SPECTRUM AGAIN> but I DO do think the fellows and gals at the Spectrum store are awesome. They tried so hard to make this lovely pearl white phone unlock and work for me. I never was able to use it. It would have been "decent' of the Spectrum Company to have even given me a "CHOICE" of using my ability to use my Apple warranty to sent the phone to Apple since they were not HONORING the word of three of their SALES DEPT people to send out a new phone because of all the glitches this particular phone had. WHY did they all lie to me? I do not honestly know how this company survives. I do not know I have survived the last month. NO one knows what they are doing and there is NO FOLLOW UP OR FOLLOW UP CARE WHATSOVER on what they promise. I am beyond disappointed. So far, I have 50 friends from coast to coast who tell me they will never go with Spectrum Mobile after hearing all of the PROMISES made to us that turned out to not be true. Also, your sales people will just literally drop off at a point and vaporize our of your life instead of standing up for what is right and decent for what they said. I have 40 pages of names of reps and dates and notes/ about to type up. They say you cannot get to the CEO. Just watch me!

Crappy Customer Service

Mobile service does not run off Verizon towers I can tell you that. Our internet experienced an outage and all of a sudden cellular data off the WiFi didn’t work. What does that have to do with Verizon if Spectrum is experiencing an outage? Haven’t had the service a week and it’s terrible.

Worst customer service ever

I canceled my service and they because of their horrible customer service and they refused to send me a final bill and they charged my card on file. And off course I was getting the run around like usual when I call.

My service is great ...no weak areas

For my charge by the GB plan they will charge you for an extra GB on the last day of your month if you’ve used your data no matter what… Then you lose whatever you don’t use… It’s very unfair. Will be looking for another plan.

The worst customers services and poor communicatio

Horrible customer services multiple calls also from one call with multiple transfers. Poor communications. 45 min to hour waiting time plus they don’t resolve issues. They transferred from department to department from person to person they don’t know or they don’t do their. I had great experience wi overall with internet service I joined spectrum mobile because of that but spectrum mobile are horrible.

I went to the South Lakeland location to solve a billing issue and other activation in between other things from my cable service. I met Shawna Spires who took care of me not like a valuable customer instead as a family member, that for me is gold. Shawna define customer service as I not seeing it in a long time, that's is a level of caring to expect when you are a long valuable customer. But I noticed that for Shawna every person that walked that location door was a long valuable customer and that's why I decided to write this review to applaud a true caring worker and a great company that saw Shawna skill valuable and hired her.

Customer Service, Value, Service Coverage

I switched from Sprint where we were still on the old “Friends & Family” plan that cost ~$60/mo which wasn’t bad, but we already had Spectrum for internet and my wife needed a new phone. Activation of the new phone and transferring her number went smoothly but bringing my device over encountered problems when porting my old number. Spectrum customer service was helpful and courteous throughout the ordeal (which was Sprint’s fault). Spectrum escalated my ticket to their level 3 technicians who were able to collaborate with Sprint & Verizon to resolve the conflict within 48 hours. Afterwards they were even nice enough to credit my account for the activation fees due to my trouble. I’m not sure where all the other complaints are coming from but in my experience if you treat customer service politely they treat you nicely as well.

They lied about EVERYTHING

When they offered me a phone they never said that I was able to choose my own! They picked one for me, and so I got another one and assuming all the phones were the same, I thought I was gonna get the same one, the second one was bigger. So I called back to find out why, and apparantly both times I was never told it was even an option to be able to pick a phone! They picked for me both times! Not to mention they completely lied about how much data you get, first they said unlimited, then they changed it and said 20 gigs of data, and 20 gigs of hotspot. Turns out 20 gigs is what you get TOTAL! So any amount of hotspot you use goes to your 20 gigs of data, then it slows down to a crawl for the rest of the month. Now I'm trying to return the phones. And they are trying to say that I have to pay $50 per phone ($100 total) just because I opened the box? What? I am on a 14 day trial with these phones, and was told within that 14 days if I didnt want them I could return them for a full refund. Ok.. tell me how am I supposed to look at a phone and see if I like it or not enough to keep it if I didnt even pick the freaking phone or even know what the phone even is!!!! They completely and totally LIE about everything just to get their COMMISSION MONEY!!!!!!

They do not take responsibility for their mistakes

I called in about transferring my internet service to a new address, which I was told I could do by Spectrum, and I was sold a mobile phone package in the process. The cost of doing this was $252. Later I was told that I couldn't transfer the internet service because Spectrum does not service the area to which I'm moving and that my phone bill would now go up by $40 since I couldn't now have the discounted rate in the absence of internet and TV. I told them to forget it. The phones never reached me, they were returned by FedEx without ever being delivered. Spectrum then decided that, even though they couldn't deliver what they'd promised, that I would only be refunded $94. No explanation, no nothing! I have wasted a grand total of four hours and counting over this during a week that I'm trying to move house. Unbelievably poor show!

Nothing . . . so far

Been with Spectrum Mobile for 3 months now. Switched because of the internet access/mobile bundle deal. So far, I've experienced dropped calls ... which is BAD, because I use this for my business! They also don't provide you with copies of your monthly bills! Not a hard copy nor a pdf copy may be had! They tell you to go to their website and "print up all the separate pages you need"! Ask them to mail you a copy of your bill then?? Nope. They can't do that because they're "paperless." Ordinarily, printing up several separate pages may be sufficient for your records, but I need an itemization of calls to bring to court as proof of calls exchanged with someone I'm suing. Printouts of website pages will not suffice as proof in a court proceeding.

Plans and hidden rules

When switching I needed a phone so I got one where I was paying $8 each month for it. I was told that if I stayed long enough it will eventually be mine. Family was on by the gig plan. We started using more than expected so it was not convenient anymore and after 3 months we decide to switch. When calling about leaving they tell me I now have to pay the phone and full that I could have only returned it before two weeks. The agent didn’t tell me this and when trying to dispute the charge I couldn’t because in small letters AFTER I payed it was sent in the shipment confirmation email.

Inflexible Billing

They have no flexibility or payment arrangements. Calling them is useless. They are not interested in being helpful. Verizon was FAR more flexible. Hope we can go back to them and ditch this joke of a company.
