Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Customer service

Trying to return a phone I was told that they would not accept turn phone because purchase was made via the internet. I called Spectrum before entering the store that they would accept the phone and received an address to return it. I do NOT like a company who tells you something over the phone and a different story is heard when you arrive. I will never use their mobile service again.

almost impossible to get any help with my phones online. long waits, i tried 2 times to get my phone problem fixed and it still doesn't work correctly.

EVERYTHING

Unfortunately, I just switched to Spectrum after being with Cricket for several years. HORRIBLE. Way better service with Cricket for a lot less money. Rep recommended the Samsung A51 because I told her I wanted a phone that took good pictures due to my business...my fault there as I should have looked at the reviews on that phone (they mainly suck). I travel a lot and phone is constantly whorling around looking for service which is majorly aggravating and makes me question why I left Cricket when I had none of these issues...just went to Spectrum since I have my internet and cable with...which is okay at best...again...not sure what I was thinking! I am going to lose $50 a phone -- "restocking fee" which I am going to fight them on (on mine...since the picture quality is AWFUL and literally everyone I talk to on the phone asks if I am in a tunnel or talking through a Covid mask..this whole experience has been awful and I cannot wait to turn this garbage in!

Same network, poorer signal.

21 days to get "in stock" phone. Had Verizon network before, now no bars with Spectrum.

do not prorate bill

They do not prorate your bill. cancel a day after their plan starts, pay THE FULL MONTH.

Phone Service

I sent my phones back within 3 days because they did not work as guaranteed. Now they want to charge me $50.00 restock fee for each phone plus a $30.00 payment fee per phone for a phone payment and now they are saying that one of the phones was returned damaged! Really? So now they are charging me for one of the phones. Total cost of trying Spectrum Mobile is close to $500.00. Don't ever use Spectrum Mobile they lie about their service.

customer service/ lack of care for customer

Don't switch over!! Don't use them! Don't get taken advantage of. They sent my mother in law a phone that was locked. Couldn't use the phone since day one. I had to leave my MIL an extra company phone I had for emegencies. Called spectrum numerous times (long holds, hung up on, transferred, and given the run around). They kept saying they would call back on the issue and didn't. Sent a new sim card we had to wait for. They thought this would fix the issue. It didn't finally asked them to replace the phone and they started to say they would see what they could do because it was outside of the 14 day warranty period, even though we complained about the phone since day one. She was never able to call out and their records should indicate that. They left a 65 year old women without a phone for more than two weeks. I took her to the METRO PCS store and switched right back. Today they called back to after 4 days since my last convo with them to say that corporate said they would not take the phone back because it was past the 14 day warranty period and that there was nothing we could do about it. They are crooks!!!!

My 2 week old phone is black screen and unresponsive. I've been on the site's customer service for 2 hours and have typed my problem 6 times. I will have to go to the store that is 7.5 miles away... I don't drive. So far .... I am Not happy with the customer service through their site.

Dropped calls

Switched from Verizon because of price and they said that they use Verizon network. BS we had maybe 6 dropped calls with Verizon in 15 years. We now have that many dropped calls on one conversation. They haven’t solved the problem. They gave us new SIM cards after we complained many times. Still useless. We will switch back to Verizon. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Crap is cheap

Great coverage, high speed

Had a second iPhone so decided to try Spectrum Mobile. Overall, I am happy. But on a recent road trip I discovered there is a 5 GB data limit on the personal hot spot. They slow you down to 600 kbps once you reach that and it won't reset till the next billing cycle. In contrast, my tmobile hot spot usage is included with my regular data usage.

Customer Service!!!!!!!

Their customer service is horrible!!! Had to call multiple times!! And stay on the phone for hours and got bounced around from person to person!!!!! Cell signal is horrible!!!! Ended up paying more than my previous phone carrier! Left Spectrum and now w AT&T way better!!!!! Never felt so stressed or unappreciated as a customer when I was w spectrum!! Please don’t fall for their trap!!! BEWARE!!!!

Network and customer service

They are rude, give no empathy to customers and have attitude. They have actually hung up on me intentionally. They had my account mixed up w two other customers and w different addresses!! Horrible!

unfair business practices

I was having a lot of problems with your representatives porting over my phone numbers from another carrier so I cancelled the service on June 19th after being on the phone with your agents for almost three hours. I was transferred to another department to get a RMA number to return the phone and was on hold for over 30 mins and eventually disconnected. I tried several days to return the phone but after being transferred from one department to another and told someone would be calling me back, I was told that they could not take the phone back because it had been more than 14 days from the ship date. It appears that they intentionally used unfair business tactics and held me off until after that date. Your customer service is terrible and want to return the phone.

Customer service

I broke my phone tried to purchase another and keep my phone number. Two weeks later....15 phone calls and over 15 hours on the phone with them still did not have two working phones. They sent me a new phone with a new number tried to call to get the old number back they added a third line to the account instead of retaining the old one with the original number. Called back and they cancelled all three lines. Mine and my boyfriends and the one we did not want. Now we had no working phone to call in on. Tried to find a chat on line and when I attempted to connect with chat it brought me to the site to purchase a phone. Finally 4 phone calls later we get my phone working. My boyfriend's was working but they changed his phone number. Called customer service got yelled at by the girl on the other end who basically called me a liar. She said we switched the sim card in my boy friends phone to another phone. There was only his phone. No other phone to put the sim card in. Said she would mail me a sim card (4 more days with no phone for my BF) all I would have to do is plug the sim card in power up and he'd be ready to go. Fast forward 4 days sim card arrives plug it in power up no phone. Call customer service again. 2 more hours on the phone. Nice customer service rep trying to help and kept having to stop to answer the supervisor giving him a hard time for the phone call taking so long. So they have supervisors making watching calls don't go too long not helping with resolution to the phone call. The person you are talking to on the phone can't actually fix your problem.they have to text with another person called a lead to do the actual fixing. Worst experience of my life. If you are not a mobile customer with Spectrum already don't do it!

They do not have truthful customer service agents.

Connectivity is Awesome!

Love the services! I have had it since the beginning and it's only gotten better over the past 2 years. Like any new mobile starter, they've had their hiccups, but throughout everything I've never had issues with 1) connectivity, 2) billing. Love that!!!!
