Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

Worse service EVER!!!!! Customer service is a joke

I've been dealing with customer service all week. Such a waste of time. Very rude people!! I even had my phone deactivated because the guy I spoke with in customer service got mad! WOW!!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!

customer servivce -zero-both phone and net!!!!!!

I have spent 2 hours trying to change auto on my cell account and no progress!!!!!.

Price and no fees

I was told there is no date to fix caller ID.

Their service is atrocious- negative 6 stars

They are a bunch of thieving morons. I guess they need to do something to make up for their low prices. I was supposed to get a $100 credit for trading in a phone. The dip$hit sales rep "didn't enter the trade" in the original sale, so they said I was out of luck and there was nothing they can do. Terrible, terrible customer service. If they weren't so cheap, I would switch

Loses internet connectivity quickly

Never full bars unless connected to my WiFi. Lose service quickly outside major city limits.

You can't beat Spectrum mobile plans or prices

I've been with spectrum mobile from the start and my rate stayed the same, excellent customer service!

Everything.

I had the service for a week until I went back to Verizon. Constantly dropped calls. They do not even deserve a one star. Don’t be fooled they use Verizon towers and stuff. I couldn’t stay on a call more than a minute without losing connection. It was embarrassing when you are on a conference call with a client.

sad

I cannot even make a call from my cell phone from home, dropped calls when driving just unreal with all their talk how good it is and advertise no dropped calls I just cannot believe a company this big has this much problem with this. I will be changing my provider as soon as I move from this area.

Pretty much everything

I switched to spectrum in December. My account was associated with my old address and when I moved into a new apartment, my previous mobile account was never merged into the new one (supposedly—however, no one can seem to fix anything). Since my accounts weren’t merged, I’ve been told for over a week now that I can’t come in and purchase a new phone until my account is fixed and I’ve literally been told multiple times “I’ve never seen this, idk how this could happen”. K, cool. I was told it would take TWO WEEKS for me to be able to purchase a new phone...purchase, not even upgrade (don’t even know how they’re upgraded work). After speaking with multiple employees I was told “everything should be fixed within 24-48 hours”. Have been told that every day since then that I’ve called. Four days ago I was told to give them ANOTHER three days, so I give them four just to be safe. Call this morning, told everything is fine, go to store and STILL CANT GET A PHONE BECAUSE NOW THEY HAVE MY FIRST NAME AS MY LAST AND MY LAST NAME AS MY FIRST. Soooo, guess what problem I’m NOW WAITING TO BE FIXED...?! Not to mention, I have been paying for two phone lines this entire time and I can’t even go in and purchase a new one. Spend the extra money and go with anyone but spectrum.

Customer service, lies

They won’t let you keep your number unless you fight them for 10 hours and days on end

Customer service is horrendous

You can never get anyone on the phone then you get transferred and they’re rude. They won’t let you keep your number (without a battle) if you upgrade your device and try to force you to buy a phone through them

Daily at least once my text don't send or receive

Daily at least once my text don't send or receive for HOURS. This is very frustrating and customer service just says generic restart your phone. The thing is if during quarintine I am at home I didn't go anywhere to have service die for hours at a time DAILY. Gotta switch back to previous carrier.

Price and coverage and speed

Been extremely happy

They suck

One word describes it. HORRIBLE...

Low Cost & No Hidden Fees

I made the switch from Verizon to Spectrum Mobile. I love it. I have no idea what all these complaints are about. They are all absolutely ridiculous. For comparison, Verizon had THE WORST customer service and website. Never was transferred to the right department, constantly dropped, and was on hold for hours. The big 4 all suck but people use them for excellent coverage. Spectrum customer service has been great. I did BYOD, and signed up online seamlessly, sim card came 3 days later, and was able to port my number in under 5 minutes. Works great. You do not need to be computer savvy, you just need to ATTEMPT. It is SO SIMPLE. Just 4 simple steps. They have pictures and very thorough directions. The pricing and "contract" is SO SIMPLE. You either pay by gig, with no throttling, or unlimited data with a bit of throttling. Pay by gig could be great for families or multiple devices, or people who for some reason want 4+ gb completely unthrottled. (People who rely heavily on hot spots maybe / work pays for device). It is not Spectrum's responsibility to "roll you over" to the unlimited plan if you hit 4gb. They send MANY texts updating you on data usage. The website shows DATA USAGE on the front page. You can set your phone to alert. They NEVER said they "roll you for free" to unlimited. They cannot be psychic and know who would prefer to be rolled over and who would not. In fact, I would say it would be wildly inappropriate for Spectrum to switch my plan without my consent. How much hand holding do you expect???? After all the texts of data usage, were they supposed to call you and ask and leave VMS and send letters. How do you expect to have a low cost phone line and demand that much wasted costs of a company to hold your hand? You are an adult, take responsibility of your own bills. Read the contracts that you sign. Ask questions if you are confused. As for buying and returning phones online- idk, be sure of what phone you want before buying it online. Again, take responsibility and test it out in person. Or buy from Best Buy or the phone manufacturer with better return / exchange policies. Every carrier, retailer, and manufacturer charges a restocking fee. I also have no idea how you can have fraudulent billing. The website is so transparent and simple, and updates you on your bill 24/7. If you have cancelled and ported numbers. All these posts lack context. I have switched carriers before, and you get an email or a text, and if you don't you call back. Again, be an adult and take responsibility. Reading Spectrum's warranty, exchange policies, it is identical to the other carriers. They also use asurion for underwriting & paying out on protection claims, so it's the exact same process as other major carriers who use asurion (which is almost all of them). People want to have their cake and eat it too. Free service. Free phones. No consequences for their actions or laziness. I write this review harshly because I took a long time to make the change because of people's false negative reviews, and I wish I had read reviews like mine to have saved SO MUCH MONEY earlier on. Some of these complaints are people mad that they don't understand technology, and are mad when Spectrum explains how technology works. This would happen at every single carrier. People complained their old phones were not compatible with spectrum. OMG - it is your choice to switch to spectrum and buy a new phone. They check compatibility before you switch. You know this before switching. You made the choice to buy a new phone. You did not have to switch if you wanted to keep your phone. It's really unfair these complaints, because it deters people who would REALLY benefit from the service, and ruins it for the rest of us if Spectrum Mobile put out a great product and no one subscribes to it because of false criticisms.

Customer service

As a new customer I ordered a new $750 phone with a scratch. Basically my problem. Run the other way from there mobile service.
