Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

It’s not terrible. Switched from Verizon in May..

Switched and saved $75/month. Didn’t enjoy the switch over but learned a lot.

After almost 2 hours on hold, being transferred to the wrong department and hung up on they said they couldn’t do anything to help me.

I have spent two hours on the phone with customer service and been transferred to 7 different people. I just need to cancel my plan because I’m joining on with friends but no one seems to be able to help me!

It exist

I joined Spectrum mobile as it advertised it used Spectrum towers. Not true. Worst phone company in the world. Would switch but covid19 keeps me at home.

All lies. they have jacked us around from day 1 .

I added insurance to my plan but they did not add it . Phone got broke . Said to pay the bill . To get a phone of 200 so we did that . Then said we had to pay off old phone of 500 to be able to get a phone that night .. so I borrowed the money bc they didn't excpet cash .. family drove hour to pay by card ..she paid that ..then they said oh were sorry its after 5 your payments are pending so phone has to be shipped an that will be 2 days from now . So sorry..plus another 100 for shipping ... will not ever recommend them to anyone

Worst customer service in the business

Customer service is useless- Retention is non existent- Tech support is Verizon... So, they are pretty good. I would not recommend spectrum mobile to anyone. They should stick to what they are good at.. Overcharging for cable !!!!

Customer Service

I called initially to sign-up for internet. I happened to also be in the process of shopping for a new phone/mobile plan. They sold me on the new plans they carry and phone. They told me I would be able to return the phone and get full refund back and cancel account if done within a time frame. I ended up choosing Sprint due to better phone option/cheaper plan/perks. Spectrum phone arrived. I didn't even open the box. Called them the same day. Arranged for account to be canceled and phone returned. I turned around and FedEx'd the phone the next day. Over the past 6 days I have continued to receive emails to "activate my phone", "view your bill", "View your new charges", etc. I finally decided to call tonight to fix all this. I have now been on the phone for a total of 53 mins and counting. I have spoken with 2 individuals. Neither of them saw any notes from my prior call. They both reported "I am not in that department and unable to view their notes". The last gentleman apologized and said he had a direct line to send to his supervisor to get it fixed ASAP with NO wait time. I have now been waiting 12 minutes for them to answer the call. He said also that I would be able to get my refund immediately tonight. I'm afraid I will NEVER get assistance. They keep saying they have "Longer then normal wait times". I get this message every time I have called. They must have a problem if they are getting so many calls. While on the phone with spectrum I was on chat with Sprint addressing 3 different questions I had. They all three got solved within 15 minutes with no hiccups. And they were fairly complicated questions. I am not required to call anyone to followup. All can be addressed over chat and accessing a link. Choice to switch from Spectrum mobile to Sprint is proving to be a very smart decision. ....And to note....I'm STILL on hold. And they keep replying this message "We know your time is valuable, we will be with you as soon as possible."

Bouncing customers around and avoiding fulfilling

I was scrolling on my galaxy note 10+ and the phone went to a yellow screen. I called spectrum went through options to try and see if we could get it to work and could not. I have a warranty, they verified this, and from this point, I spent the entire rest of the day trying to get to the right department for who was going to fix/replace my phone. I was instructed to call assurant. Where I was told that my claim was denied from them because it was a manufacturer defect(spectrum already knew this, and knew my claim would be denied). At this point I was instructed to call spectrum back to file through them. Again I was told they do not handle that so this time, I was instructed to call Samsung. They said they will not replace my phone, since it was the first incident, but they will send it off to be fixed. So, ok, but they needed proof of sale so that they can verify my warranty was still good. I needed to get back in touch with spectrum to get this proof of sale. When I contacted them again, i was told that they are a paperless company which somehow meant they could not send me an email with my proof of purchase. Anyways i was able to track down a proof of purchase on my own, and am going to send the phone off. Problem is, they purposely make it difficult for the customers during these situations so that they can avoid responsibility, but when it comes to a bill being due or anything of that nature, they are on top of it. Making these processes easier for loyal customers is not just a suggestion, but a must if they wish to retain customers. I will be doing all in my power to get out of all contracts with spectrum and will never be a customer here again until these things change. I will make sure everyone knows their tactics and to avoid them. I am not rude with representatives, I understand they have a job to do, but this needs to stop! P.s. I have had multiple other bad encounters when dealing with "customers support" for this company. If you are a customer, you better just pray that everything works all the time so that you don't have to talk to them. Which is very unlikely as service goes out all the time on all spectrum platforms.

They overcharge you

I paid off a phone and they still charging me as they said the balance I paid off did not include the next 2 monthly payments. It made not sense.

Incorrect charges won’t retract

For six months my bill has been $14. Then my bill jumped to $42! I was told I could only credit me back $25 but I would have to pay the 42 upfront and they would take $25 off over months and I would lose $17 !! They finally said they would They would credit me completely so I thought I was getting summer but then told me pay the $42 upfront and then they would fix it Again!! I said either I pay $14 or you cut my service because I’m not paying $42 that I will never get back. I guess they went with cut my service because they hung up on me!!

Worst Customer service

I order mobile but i never get it, and company charge my card, i call them and cancel it, but still they are charge my card, i call more then 5 times they say they will return my money within 5 business days. but not they are still charge my card. this company are very thief.

complete waste of time and money

I was convinced by Spectrum techinician to buy an expensive phone so I can use spectrum service at home. I could not use the phone. I had droped calls. There was no signal in my area. I called 20 times and each time they troubleshooted the phone to no avail. There was no signal so calls could not be made. They lied from the beginning telling me there is coverage in my area. they did not take the phone back. If I could leave no stars, I would that. Horrible experience. complete waste of time and money.

no service

Spectrum technician claimed there is good service in my area. I live 1 mile away from a main blvd and there is not much cell reception. He also told me I have to buy a new phone and I can't use any of the 3 iPhones that I have. I purchase a Samsung for $280 and when I received it, it NEVER worked. There were no bars. I spent 2 months with their technicians online trying to trouble shoot the phone. Finally they agreed to cancel my service since there is no reception in my area but they would not take back the $300 phone. I spent 2 months troubleshooting online and being passed from one dept to other. It was a complete waste of my time and money. Stay away from Spectrum Mobile. The service is horrible and management does not take responsibility for taking phones back. Horrible experience.

Upgrade

I cannot upgrade without my internet services which I had to cancel. They did not explain everything that would effect my mobile account after the cancellation of my internet service. All the customer service representatives giving different information about the same thing. I’m definitely canceling my service after my phone is paid off.

Worst service ever!! Slow speeds!

regret switching to spectrum. Never have service.. mssgs take forever to send. Ready to go back to AT&T. Ask them to fix the caller ID issue 3 times!! Still shows my moms name from 5 years ago when I switched it to my name!!
