Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

They exist

Tech support had me travel to Spectrum outlet when I got there they told they don't do anything remotely similar to what I was told to go there for.

Service

If I attach a picture to a text to my sister in Oregon or Florida, from that point on I cannot text either of them again. This has been going on for months. And calling customer service is a waste of time. Anyone else having this issue?

Customer service

My daughter and I spent at least eight hours going to Spectrum stores (and note that they told us there are only four stores in the entire state of Minnesota), on the phone with customer service reps, etc. and THEN found out that there isn’t any way to get a phone (except by FedEx, signature required) or SIM card (except by mail). 99% of people who are getting cell phones are working and can’t sit at home all day to take delivery. Was told I would have the phone within two days, but it turned into four and I realized that there were flashing neon red flags everywhere around me so I refused shipment on it and FedEx returned it. When it came time to do the same with the SIM card, I talked to six different people who told me six different things before I finally got someone who knew what they were talking about and could issue a credit for the $55 SIM card. If it’s that hard to just get the devices, what happens when you have problems? Can’t get to the store, can’t get the actual product in the store, talk to several people by phone and nobody knows what they’re doing... No way. It was a nightmare and a waste of several hours I’ll never get back.

So far its been great. No complaints here.

Using Verizon network and 70% cheaper

Not sure why they’re getting so many bad reviews. It’s the same network/service as Verizon but with additional hotspots. My only compliant is the onboarding process with the being your own device. The store reps don’t really know what they’re doing and I seem more educated in the process. Haha. Overall, great network, best price, highly recommend.

Horror story. I returned phone and after three months, I am still being charged for it. Also, I was charged $350 for damage to the phone. There was no damage. So I have no phone and have paid $450 for nothing. They never call you back. I requested they return my phone to me since day one since they were still charging me. I have not received it and they said its too late. Crooks. Three months of hell and it's still not over. Do not use them. Also, you cannot take your phone or any problems to a Spectrum store. Everything is done over the phone.

Deception and lies about phone costs

I received one of their phones and when I powered it on and realized it did not have the storage they told me it would, I repacked it and send it back after doing a factory reset which probably wasn't necessary. Stay charged a $50 restocking fee plus $100 cleaning the phone was defective. Watch out for the bogus charges, lies, and deception.

They lie about fees

I powered the phone on and when I realized it had half the memory and storage I needed, I put it in box and shipped back, canceling service. I did a factory reset, although not necessary, and they charged me $50 for restocking and $100 for "damage".... The phone was in pristine condition. They have vindictive charges because you cancel. Avoid this shady company with rude customer service reps.

Great price. Saving me a lot of money for excellent coverage.

Coverage, price, and plan flexibility

Great coverage running on Verizon wireless. I brought my Verizon iPhones over no problem. The reps in the stores struggle to explain the process since wireless is new for them. Aside from that, I’m very happy and saving over $183 a month compared to what I was paying with Verizon.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY,

We were charged for 2 not new defective phones. They bounced me around for to long that my 2 week return policy was up. Now, I owe $1000 for non working phones and went back to my old server.

WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DUMB AS NAILS OR THAT IS HOW SPECTRUM TRAIN'S THEM. ALSO SPECTRUM PULLS THE BAIT & SWITCH WHEN THEY SAY "YOU CAN KEEP YOUR OWN PHONE". F'N LIERS, F-THEM AS A LEGIT CO. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME FIND ANOTHER MORE REPUTABLE CO.

They lie to you

I have Spectrum internet so decided to try out their mobile. Their sales people blatantly lied to get me on mobile the plan. I called 4 times to confirm their $14/gig data plan and neither one gave consistent answer on how the billing will work. They also confirmed that I could port by existing S10 and Galaxy Note to Spectrum. I decided to try out one line and bought iPhone X from Spectrum. Few days later when I tried to port my other phones I was told that I cannot port and they will also NOT take the iPhone back. The supervisor was very rude and not at all helpful. They will take your money and make you spend hours waiting and then not resolve the concerns. It's not even their own network, they lease Verizon and seem to have no control. Don't waste your time and money.

Sales person unknowledgable

Two relatives and I signed up for a plan. The sales person said it was a 20Gbyte plan, It was really the pay as you go plan. When we learned this, we cancelled. Returning the 3 phones with factory settings and no damage cost over $300.

I gave one star because I can't give it NO STARS.

I moved, when transferring my internet service I was talked into Spectrum mobile. A phone was sent to me, I didn't like the service that first date. Called to return device, went through hell on the phone for a whole week till I was able to return it. When I called to ask for my refund I was told the device was scratched and that I had to pay $350. I argued with a supervisor for an hour till I encountered a nervous breakdown. I never used the device I returned it as it was which is new without damages. Well, since they sign you up for autopay to get the service my bank was charged the $350 on the spot without my authorization!!! I am now disputing the charges through my bank. No, no, no ... Don't get this service, they have the worst customer service and lie about everything!!!

Crazy Bad experience...and I don't even think they care... I was told so many things by every rep I spoke with, my conclusion is they will tell you anything to get your business...however not really realizing you can go elsewhere., which I did. was told they checked and I could keep my cell # so they sent phones for me and my hubby. I was told to go to local office for assistance with setting up the phones. I get to office and was told I would have to go over 100 miles to get any help with my spectrum phone . I had already paid over $200 for the phones ( mind u I have not opened the boxes yet so I march the phones right back home and call to find out If I just stepped out of the twilight zone cause I know what i was told. I get back home call them and was told not all offices handled phones. oh and I was also by 1 rep my # would not transfer. ...they said they checked before the phones were shipped and at that time the numbers would .....but all of a sudden they don't yada yada yada.... now they are charging me a restock fee and another bogus fee and not returning all the money I paid! I have started a case with my credit card company to get back what they have attempted to swindle me out of. I could say more but my blood pressure might go up so im stopping here. This new spectrum phone company is a JOKE....No joke! Stay away till Its a little more established guys.

They are incompetent

Called in may to set up time to switch my phone number to mobile so I could take my original business # with area code when we moved. They lost the phone number (whatever that means) and charged me for a device that doesn't work. It took over 3 weeks for them to figure everything out. I called roughly 15 times and sat on the phone with them for anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes each time. That is 2 entire work days, People! I told them that they really dropped the ball and I would like to see some goodwill compensation for them taking my time and screwing up the business phone. They said they could offer me a$14 credit. Everyones time is worth something different but if there is one thing I can guarantee....2 days of your life and no business phone is worth more that $14 to ANYONE. Please do yourself a favor and do not use any services these basket cases offer.

Don't plan on using a new open and unlocked Samsung Galaxy s9. Don't believe everything you see on TV.

THE MOBILE SIDE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING

WHEN YOU CALL IN AFTER FIGHTING WITH THE AUTOMATED SERVICE THEN YOU HAVE TO KEEP CALLING TO GET SOMEONE WHO KNOW A LITTLE BIT OF THE MOBILE SIDE. USING YOUR MOBILE IS OK JUST HOW YOU DON'T HAVE A ISSUE WITH YOUR MOBILE THEY CAN'T SOLVE YOUR ISSUE.

service

if i send a picture in a text to either my sister in Oregon or my sister in Florida I lose the ability to text them from then on. This happens always and when I call Customer Service it depends on who i talk to as to the actual help I receive. Am turning off the service at the end of the month. Can't take it any more VERY frustrating
