Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

it drops calls every day

will it worked for the first 16 day great on the 17th day I have drop almost every call to and from my phone what a pos I should have stayed with the phone company I had will be going back asap

Doesn't Meet My Low Expectations

If you have unlimited service with Spectrum, you might do better with another carrier. I was a consumer cellular customer until I found my self lost on major highway with no internet service. Had Verizon until company closed up and couldn't afford $130 a month for two. A co worker told me about Spectrum mobile and she had mobile service at a work site and I didn't, not even voice. So I looked into it and believed it would meet my needs at an affordable cost. How wrong I was. I�39;ve always signed up for a 1 gig plan, and never used half of it. !st month with spectrum and I was over by 1 meg and I didn't even use it that much. Found out later that if mobile data was on my phone, I was being charged as if I was actively using data. So now I keep my mobile data off until I really need it. I'm locked in because of phone purchases, but I will go back to Verizon. I've tried them all, started with T-Mobile, then ATT, Verizon, and CC. Verizon is the only reliable carrier out there for me.

cant even get phone after buying it!

Signed up for Spectrum Mobile and bought phone through them. Didn't have in stock so had to ship to me. Well its a company policy someone has to be at physical address of service when fedex delivers and you have to sign for it. Problem is I WORK for a living and am not home before 5pm. Well of course they try to deliver around noon each day. I call Fedex and they say no way they can be in my area after 5pm. I call Spectrum back and they say I would have to go to Fedex Hub to pickup or be at house is only option!!! I cancelled my new phone and service before I even got it. What a ludicrous policy. So if I work for a living I cant get a phone because I cant be home to sign for it??? Don't waste your time.

Horribly run business

Spectrum Mobile charged my credit card without my authorization. Getting them to correct their mistake took hours and hours of my time on the phone and caused no end of aggravation. I've never had such a problem dealing with a company. Incompetent, haphazard service... what a very poorly run business.

They mislead u into their service

I am completely outraged by the betrayal of the sales agent at Spectrum. Earlier this evening I called to inquire about Spectrum mobile service and spoke to a sales agent there at Spectrum. I asked about getting the Samsung Galaxy S10 plus. The agent told me that my card would not be charged until I receive and activate the phone. To my surprise I received a notification from my bank that my account is overdrawn because Spectrum charged my account. Clearly, I would not have authorized a charge for today knowing I don't have the funds today. I called back twice and spoke to two agents who claim they cannot cancel the order and refund my money. The last agent I spoke to Justin was nice but I made it clear at the beginning of the call I need to speak to a supervisor. He got a supervisor but the supervisor Leyton refused to speak to me and never came to the phone, instead, Leyton was feeding the words to Justin to say

Before I switched I tracked my data usage with my prior wireless provider; it was always under 1 GB for 6 mo. I traveled often and used apps while with the prior provider. I sign on to Spectrum's promo 1 GB for $14. It's the end of the 1st week in the 2nd month and I am at .75 GB! I have every apps cellular data off to conserve usage. Does Verizon-- whose towers they use-- tack on something to the usage amount? It doesn't add up and I am distrustful of them.

Do not use Spectrum Mobile, worst customer service ever. I must have talked to 10 different people and know one knew anything. They messed up my checking account up by taking to much money out. Then I get the phones could not get them to activate, The only time I messed with them, is when I was talking to a tech. He told me what to do. It didn't work, so I sent them back. Well, I called today to see about my refund well apparently I don't get one back because they were graded a B, which means they were open. Well, if you don't open them how do you get them activate? So, I'm out 80 dollars. On top of that then I had to spend 140.00 to get my other phones back on. Beware, they will gladly take your money.

Customer Service!!!!

I will try to keep this short, although, how do you summarize around 20-30 hours spent on the phone with customer service? It is as though all employees have customer service experience but none have worked for a phone company before. Every call response is completely different from the last. It has been nearly a month and many hours on the phone and they have not been able to port over my number. Now my phone number that I have had since 1999 is gone. Even if they pay you to take a phone it is not worth it! I only wish I could go back in time and never have tried Spectrum! They may be okay if you do not need to port a number and you never have a need to contact customer service.

The Service

Spectrum mobile is absolutely the worst service and customer service I've ever experience... From the experience at the local Spectrum store located off Kirkman Rd. to the support you receive on their 800 #... First Ingrid at the local store is the most miserable and least customer friendly person you will ever find...not to mention she just Can't Understand Normal Thinking!!! They make it perfectly clear that there is no customer service at the stores and they are only there to SELL!!! Incredible!!! I have Spectrum Cable and Internet and I love the service...and...spend $2400.00 / year... You would think that may make a difference with the way they treat you...but that would be wrong... I have been on the phone with their technicians for more than 15-hours over the past 2-months...the longest time I've spent on hold is two hours and fifty four minutes... I have placed 18-calls to them and had at least 20-calls back to me... Supervisors are almost impossible to talk to...the reason being that there are so many problems that they are already on the phone taking care of...or...in my case not taking care of... I have never spoken to anyone at Spectrum Mobile that actually even have the service...that should be a good indicator to stay away... I placed a couple of call to Channel 13 news (the local Spectrum 24-hr news station in Orlando) and spoke to a women named Margaritta... I first asked if they could do a story on the horrible service from Spectrum Mobile...but...she said that would not be possible...go figure... However...she did take my name, number, and address and said she would look into all the problems and get back to me...I think she will... The problem with my phone is that it simply doesn't work...they replaced the Sim card...with no improvement...still only get 1/2-1 bar... I was supposed to have the phone replaced if the Sim card fix didn't correct the problem...however...they renigged on that... I am scheduled for major heart surgery on 6/19 and 6/21 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville... So far I have missed at least 5 calls from the hospital, my doctors and my insurance company... These are critical and are truly life and death calls... Schedules and pre-op procedures change and I have to be able to take these calls...enough said...I could go on...but the bottom line it that Ingrid at the local store nor anyone at their 800 # could care less...I'm not kidding!!! I could go on...but...I chose to go to Sprint and they bought me out of my phone contract and signed me up with Sprint...I've never been happier...thanks Sprint... Spectrum...you should be ashamed of yourself... If you are thinking about switching mobile cell companies...research Spectrum before you make a huge mistake...Reviews are all over the internet...

Missing information BEFORE you sign in

I was offer the mobile service when I got the tv and internet service, they offered ”for free” the mobile device , after 1 week we got a email saying that they are going to charge 14 dollars for over use of the data , they didn’t say that we only will get 1 GB with the plan , I called and canceled the service , they told me that is was ok because the missing information, I just need to return the device , I returned and a week later a got charge for over 100 dollars without authorization and email saying that the device had damage and they can not give a full refund! And the person I spoke didn’t give me ANY answer or help to resolve the matter !! Lies, lies, and lies is the only thing I got .

Service / Reception

Called to enroll in Spectrum mobile since I had the WIFI. Was told I would have to upgrade but decided to do so anyways. A week into the service I am told that you CAN roll your phone over assuming it is new enough, as mine was. I called in to get credit for it they said they couldn't and it was that representative's mistake. Two weeks later of never being able to make a call from home, getting a message saying "to complete your call please reenter the 10 digit number and do not hang up" I decided to drop the service and get a refund. They said I couldn't get a refund since I waited too long. I spoke to the manager, a 25 year old punk and he said that I chose to wait so they couldn't do anything. I explained that I kept calling in and getting forwarded to other departments who would reset my service which may rectify the situation for a day, but then did nothing. Anyways, this is a bullsh1t plan that bates you in and then throws you all around in loops trying to get answers.

Taking your money

I was sold a defective phone and still charged to return it. I feel so robbed they are charging me $524.99 for a phone I cannot keep. They will rob you and make it difficult to resolve with charter communications that handles complaints. They never answer. Spectrum mobile is the worst mistake anyone can ever do. I couldn’t get signal at work so I went back to Tmobile. Instead of saving money spectrum made me spend more. It’s been a nightmare since April and still trying to resolve payments.

Bad service. Bad phone. No help.

I decided to try Spectrum mobile in November 2018. I thought nothing could be worse than Sprint. I was wrong ! I got a defective phone with apple care and a warranty. No one is willing to help after I was promised they would . Customer service is horrible. They lie too. Huge mistake . Now I’m stuck.

Customer Serivce is terrible.

Apparently they set your account up by your credit card number. My card was compromised and had to get a new one. When I called Spectrum to pay my bill, they wouldn't/couldn't help me because I did not know the last 4 digits of my old credit card. Therefore, my account is now useless and i don't have a phone.

HOME INTERNET WORKS FINE.

A salesman over the phone sold me 2 phone lines for $14.95ea per month all cover. We also spoked in spanish our mother languague and lied to me. The $14.95 were an extra $14 per gigabyte which I decide to return both phones. I also escalate to a supervisor, the 1st one Nathan young gentlemen just laughed discretely and told Sir I can't hear you and is so good in Cust. Serv. that never called me back. Called back again and asked for Nathan, wow surprise he went to lunch, too much coincidence lol. Asked for another supervisor 53 minutes and still waiting. Now for return the items a charge of $35ea for repackaging, not my fault that your funny sales guys lied to leads to catch them and I spent time and money already. Customers be aware!

Signed up and prepaid for the first month of service. Due to some customer service issues I decided not to activate the SIM. Called to cancel my account which they did but would not refund the prepaid month of service. Had to call several times and still nothing. They are scammers! Do not waste your time or money.

Uses Verizon network

Get Verizon service for way less than Verizon. They only negative is that the app is a little buggy. Otherwise this was a no-brainer.

Great value!

I've only had to call customer service twice and both times they where very helpful. I was paying an arm and a leg with AT&T, my bill went from well over a 100 dollars a month to about 55 ish. The pay by the gig plan is perfect, I use my home wifi and work wifi. I've never once gone over a gig. Maybe all the bad reviews for the overages should learn how to check their data usage. It's not that hard at all to do. I also disable data on my note 9 from the drop down menu until I need it, you can never go over if it's not on! All of their policies and procedures are online for you to view before you order. As a CSR for my personal 9 to 5 my only advice to you would be to read a companies policies before getting upset over a restock fee/ refund time frames when it is clearly stated for you to view with your eyes before you join! Service is better then AT&T, I've yet to be in a dead spot yet to drop a call. Phone is amazing, price wise to lease it spot on to AT&T maybe a little less. You do have to call in and confirm your identity and send a copy of your ID and a bill showing your address. But in this day and age you should be happy a company is taking the steps to protect you. The only thing I can not stand about Spectrum Mobile is auto pay, I am not a fan of having bill automatically taken out of my credit card. I prefer to sit down and pay all of my bills in one swing. All and all good service, good phones and if you dont use much data how could you go wrong for 14 dollars for service.

Customer service and coverage

The rep said I would have 30 days from date of activation to try the phone, no strings attached. Phone was shipped on May 2, I activated May 13 called to find out how to cancel and return device on June 2 and was told that the rep was wrong and it was 14 days from ship date, then it was 30 days from the ship date. They stated they saw where the rep told me DATE OF ACTIVATION but their policy states its 30 days from ship date. I informed them that material was NOT in the box I recieved and she informed me its online. Caller everyday from june 2 to june 11 spoke with TWO supervisors and one said "I will transfer you to our resolution dept and they can fight with you if they want."Asked for his manager, who told he (Julio)was in a meeting and he didnt have his #, asked for corporate and he didnt have that # either. Spoke to another lady who said they can take the phone back but there is a restock fee and the device will be graded and a monetary amount assessed to it because they cant resell used phones and this is AFTER paying $55 at start up for "taxes and fees" They punish the customer even though it shows their employee gave incorrect (according to them now) information. Stay away from this company, they will nickle and dime you to death and customer service is the worst
