Is Spectrum Mobile phone service any good?

They failed repeatedly to port my old number.

No one in their organization knew anything about handling a mobile account or the technology of transferring information. Neither on the phone nor in person at a store. They do not know what they are doing. They should not have started this business without proper training or set up.

customer service and phones

Started having problems with my phone april 2, just got in dec. April 3 called and was told that someone would call me. No phone call. called that night and was told it would take 7 days for someone to call me. April 5 called was to rushed through and nothing, weds april 10 called and nothing was was pushed through, the supervisor did get things moving. today april 15 this was 13 days after the problem started i get a phone i have a problem with this one and was told i had to wait again for someone to call me, And we would have to wait until the first phone was sent back, Now this is going to push all these problems to the end of the month. So this means i have phone that do not work right spectrum will want their money and i have junk phone that i am paying for,

information given out is not the truth

I switched from At&T March 2019. Could not get service the first day, had to call back next day. I was told I was getting unlimited plan. I was Purchasing 4 phone plans. They would not port our numbers over to, nothing but a big mess the whole time. I cancelled them in April 2019 and went to Verizon. I was told I had 30 days to decide to return phones. I returned within a week and now they are charging me $318.00 for my phone. It is a mislead ad ad will say only $45 unlimited,which is true, but the catch is that is $45 per phone.

They used Bait and switch on me

I called Spectrum after receiving a letter about my cable bill going to see what I could do about lowering my bill. We worked on getting my cable bill down by eliminating many channels and then the rep started asking me about my CELL phone bill. I told her I DID NOT WANT to MESS with changing over and that I was happy with my Straight Talk. The person I was talkiing to was very persistent and she wanted to know how much I paid a month and I told her it was $35 plus tax. She then started telling me I was paying too much and she could get my bill down to $22.50 a month so I listened. Then She PROMISED me a NEW PHONE in 2 days and a new low mobile bill of just $22.50 a month so I said OK as long as I could get the phone in 2 days like she promised because my renewal for the STRAIGHT TALK was in three days. Then I was told I had to pay $45 for the new phone NOW so I agreed. She took my credit card info and instANTLY BILLED ME $45. The Promised 2 day phone DIDN'T COME and I was forced to RENEW my straight talk 4 DAYS LATTER when the phone she said I would have in hand in 2 days NEVER CAME. The phone came 5 days latter. I then spent HOURS trying to activate it with no luck, I called support department and found out to get the same service I had with my straight talk was going to COST OVER $50.00 a MONTH? They used bait and switch tactics on me and that is ILLEGAL. We still could not get the phone activated. Now I am being told by Time Warner Mobile I am going to be charged a REDICULOUS RE STOKING FEE on a phone I didn't want that could not activate? Last time I checked – BAIT AND SWITCH WAS STILL ILLEGAL. I was Baited and then Time Warner switched what I was PROMISED on a hard sale and now they are trying to charge me for it? My INITIAL CALL was to try to save some money and I ended up PAYING MORE. I am a SENIOR on a FIXED INCOME and what you did was very deceitful. The phone was NEVER activated and you can not deliver what I was promised. On top of that – You billed my credit card another $1.80 2 weeks AFTER I sent the phone back without my permission and I still have NO REFUND.

Terrible coverage, poor customer service

List calls, calls did not complete. Went back to Verizon in 3 weeks.

Purchased my new phone through Spectrum 9/18. Lost it March 30, 2019. Reported it lost to Spectrum. I have the horrible Assurant insurance. Have been paying monthly for coverage, and paid the $200 deductible. Received refurbished phone from Assurant, which could not be activated, after 8-10 hours on the phone with all kinds of reps that I kept being handed off to, including 3 Tier 3 reps. They finally decided two days later they would allow me to be sent another refurbished phone from Assurant. I received the second phone 6 DAYS LATER. It could not be activated either. Am promised by Tier 3 that this would be rectified. It was not, after hours on the phone with them!!!! Last Friday morning I spoke with customer service with Assurant, and ONE person has tried to help me, but her hands are tied by her bosses. Today, April 9, 17 days after I lost my phone, I STILL have an unusable phone, and am told I have to wait to see what they decide to do! WHAT IS INSURANCE FOR, and WHY will neither SPECTRUM or ASSURANT not, by this time (over 20 hours on the phone trying to rectify this, send me a NEW phone after all of this trouble???? I am told I will have to wait to see what the higher-ups, who have known about this problem for way too long already, decide they will do me the favor of doing for me. Meanwhile, I am 17 days without a phone! Horrible customer service. The price of the monthly service is good, but not worth the anxiety and frustration caused if there is a problem with their product. I now have an even longer story to relate to our local ABC TV affiliate, and to whomever else I can find out to report this too. Will be inquiring with the BBB as to who to report to in order to try to get some action tomorrow. Terrible!

very customer unfriendly

The first called, I talked to a kid, that was still in grade school in the hood, so i called the next day and talked to someone, with knowledge and was told I was being verified, no comtact, then a email two days later saying , the order was canceled, because they couldn't contact me. The bill would have been separate , from the cable bill and charged to my credit card directly, The first month was going to be a double payment. We have a charter home phone and the email made it to me, so why couldn't they call me. A week into this and I find out my phone is not coming. I have good credit, these people have problems.

Dropped call from the hospital that my dad had cod

My mother was with my father in the hospital while he was sick. That night she went to my sister's house to rest. At three in the morning my home phone rings needing to get a hold of my mom cause my dad had coded and her spectrum phone wasn't working so I gave the hospital my sister number so they would know what to do if he coded again. Her mobile phone did not work at all the weekend we all had to say goodbye to our dad. If i didnt have the land line up with me in bed he wouldve died cause they could get through on her spectum mobile. It was a mess and we are very disappointed in their sevice.

Verizon network coverage

No "readable" transcription of Voicemail messages to text. No way to reduce 35 seconds of ringing before Voicemail picks up. My caller-id shows as "wireless caller" instead of my real name, inviting hangups and rejects and no-answers since it looks like a robo-call or spammer.

i use my phone at home(Spectrum WiFi) and at work WiFi. phone cannot connect so i have to use Cell data. there goes my 1 gig usage out the window.

I paid off my device and it took me 2 days to unlock my phone. Spectrum mobile sucks.

Don't get spectrum mobil

The service is shit. Everywhere i go i have bad service and i have made phone call after phone call trying to get someone to help and everyone is so rude and un helpful. One lady told me these exact words "sorry there is nothing i can do" They also may say unlimited data but once you get to a certain gig (which is not that much) they slow your data down so it makes it impossible to even use your phone. Steer clear from spectrum mobil. Luckily T Mobil will pay off the rest of my phone plan and i can be done with the headache.

Customer Service

I do not have a cell phone. I been trying to add mobile service to my account since March 25, 2019. I tried online, and had to chat with 2 customer service people. They verified my SSAN and found a mismatch. They could not help me. I couldn't update my account. On March 26, 2019, I went into the Stockbridge, GA service center. Myla was helpful enough to get my phone ordered. When I got home, I needed to send a copy of my utility bill and ID. Today, March 28, 2019, I verified they received the documents. They completed my order. Delivery was supposed by 24-48 hrs by FEDEX. I just checked the tracking number, and the scheduled delivery is Monday April 1, 2019 by 8 pm. over 96 hours. I am considering cancel the mobile service, and using a competitor. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this process. Spectrum made sure they took my money. Another issue is No way to contact MOBILE Spectrum without a phone, and the Chat for Cable, Internet and Residential phone cannot assist mobile customers. Worst experience ever.

Activation is a pain. Cust Serv is useless

Activation is still not complete and has been "escalated" to tomorrow. Customer service reps are useless and they require your entire account details to talk to you each time. Unfortunately this is typical Charter/Spectrum "customer service".

their deceptive pricing.

Called for the $14/gig plan - but it is only available if you buy, (lease), a phone thru them, you can't bring your own phone. The prices on their phones are about 3 times what you can buy the phone on the open market. Then they try to sell you a protection plan that is about the same cost as the phone. By time you add it all up the $14/gig is about 3 times that, and will increase more should you ever go over one gig. Run! They have horrible service on the cable side, my fault to assume that the phone side would be any different.
